Trending frozen/sluggish since May 7
The trending page is frozen once again, for the first time in 4 months.
The last time trending updated was on May 7th, 16 days ago.
You can check this by going the Recent page https://scratch.mit.edu/explore/projects/all/recent and looking at the first project's share date.
It has been 2 weeks since trending last updated. (It updated with a few new projects on May 8th and May 17th, but I'm not counting that)
After they finished the maintenance for the front page, the Scratch Team has been trying to fix the reshare glitch, by filtering out certain reshared project IDs, and making it take longer for very new project IDs to index.
But, they accidentally made the Trending page indexer/Search Results indexer freeze in the process.
On the English Recent page API at https://api.scratch.mit.edu/explore/projects?limit=16&offset=0&language=en&mode=recent&q=* (copy and paste the link), the last project that was indexed was on Sunday, May 7th at 6:02am UTC time (May 8th and May 17th for a few projects, but I'm not counting that).
After that, no new projects on that page got indexed, so it's been frozen so far for about 16 days.
Hopefully, the indexer unfreezes soon, and we'll see what happens next with the Trending page.
Update 5/17/2023: Similar to what happened on May 8th, the indexer has some new projects again today https://api.scratch.mit.edu/explore/projects?limit=16&offset=0&language=en&mode=recent&q=* (copy and paste the link). So it seems to be indexing some projects, but very slowly, and not all project IDs.
Update 5/17/2023 #2: The All tab updated just now, with 4 new projects. But I still don't consider trending unfrozen yet, because it's still not indexing every new project quickly.

the engineers should add a code for its minimum requirements of loves, favorites, remixes and views to make it not freeze

the engineers should add a code for its minimum and maximum requirements of loves, favorites, remixes and views to make it not freezeIt's not that simple. There are multiple problems with trending. And whenever the Scratch Team tries to fix one of the problems, they end up freezing the trending page in the process.

The trending page might be frozen again. This has happened to me, and I'm worried someone is going to accuse me of stealing vectors because the projects they've been used in appear first when you search them up in trending.
In the last few days, the Scratch Team has been probably trying to fix the reshare glitch, by filtering out certain reshared project IDs, and making it take longer for very new projects to index. But, they accidentally made the Trending page indexer/search results indexer freeze in the process.
On the English Recent page API at https://api.scratch.mit.edu/explore/projects?limit=16&offset=0&language=en&mode=recent&q=* (copy and paste the link), the last project that was indexed was at 6:02am UTC time. After that, no new projects on that page got indexed, so it's been frozen so far for about 14 hours.
Hopefully, the indexer unfreezes soon, and we'll see what happens next with the Trending page.

It is definitely frozen. Honestly, after 3+ years of being broken and ruined by several major bugs and exploits, I'm seriously questionning whether it is ever going to be fixed. In these 3 years there has not been a single day where the explore page or search was not seriously affected by bugs. It just seems like a endless circle and everytime there is an attempt to fix something, other things breaks to a point where I don't even know if I should report these bugs in the forum because I'm worried it is going to get worse if they try to fix them.
Is it time, resources or the issue's compexity that causes the problem to be such a one difficult to fix? This must be an extremely complex problem to fix and the fact that the whole organisation runs on donations certainly does not help, but considering how major the explore and search features are in this community, I just can't comprehend how, after 3+ years, not only have the situation not improved, but have gotten worse.
It is probably not the devs' fault as they are probably doing their best keeping the website running, but I truly hope that they can find a way fix it once and for all.

I have a feeling that the glitch actually started on (or before) March 7th. I shared a remodel of one of my sprites on that day, and the glitch must have started before I shared that project because it got 86 views and 17 loves and faves, yet it is at the bottom of trending AND popular for some reason. Ever since, my other sprites have also suffered similar issues to the point that one didn't even show up on the search page at all.
Either the glitch started on March 7th or my project was just unlucky. But I doubt the second option since this has never happened to the other remodels of the sprite before.

Why don't they just, again, close down the Explore page until they fix it?You mean make the Explore page not show any projects at all?
