SWC Megathread || March 2023

Mouse’s thank yous!
Here's my (long) thank yous! I probably missed a bunch of people and my answers overuse ‘awesome’ and ‘amazing’ far too much, but that's what you guys are <3 I also ran out of steam by the end sorryyyyyyy T^T
Anyway, a whole lot of people are mentioned, so read (especially the last part)
Hosts/leaders:
Hey guys!
This was my first time co-leading, and I had no idea what I was doing, but you guys answered all of my questions and put up (to some degree) with me burning your cabins, stealing souls, and being overall very random. I really had an amazing time this session, especially when I was secretly stalking quite a few cabins and randomly saying hello in some of those cabins and on profiles. I knew SWC was a super supportive community, and I really got to see that on another level as a co-leader. I enjoyed it immensely, and I’m totally applying again next session!

Horror:
Dear horror,
I couldn’t have asked for a better cabin to co-lead. You guys were fun, supportive, and I enjoyed watching you answer my DDORs, scream with me in the horror main cabin, and generally have a good time. Ris, you were an amazing leader. I had a lot of fun finishing cabin planning in that one week I had as a co-leader before camp started, and you put up with my (admittedly extremely long) posts in the planning forum, and the randomness and kind of helpful but not really stuff I said when I had stuff IRL but stole my mom’s phone and logged into scratch, and also the anticipation and wait for the days before we released chapter 3.5! Alyssa, I didn’t get to know you as well as I’d hoped, but I understand life > SWC and I hope you had a good time even with your busy schedule. Your ideas shaped the cabin into what it is today! Sein, I also didn’t get to interact with you much, but from the few things we did exchange (and me stalking the pages of cabin planning before I joined), you’re a friendly, wonderful person and I hope to get to know you better before July! To my campers: I interacted with as amny as you as I could, some more then others, so I’m listing those who made my session better here (if you’re not mentioned I probably forgot you you all were amazing) Ava, you I have to say thank you for coining the term ‘spade mangos’. If it weren’t for you they’d just be ‘in-cabin currency’, so, on behalf on everyone who’s used the term this session, thank you, and also many thanks for gifting me your soul and being a wonderful person. Amy, you added an incredible amount of RP words and I’d seen you in other sessions, and although we didn’t talk much, I’ll remember you from this session. To Twi(x), I don’t know how many times I (or anyone else) has told you to sleep. You’re an amazing camper, and so much fun to talk to, but. You. Need. To. Sleep. (at a reasonable time). I will also finally tell you that all those times you were freaking out in the main cabin, wondering which cabin you were in, I knew. (I am evil.) You were the first member to join my soul-stealing cult, and you’re decent at it EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT YOU’VE CLAIMED MY TITLE AS SOUL STEAL THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE–soul-stealing aside, you definitely made this session more fun. Mango, I’m sorry it took me like a week to make your matching pfp sob. I will uphold my promise to make you a non-horror one after camp though, as an apology. You’re a very fun person and you wrote an IMPRESSIVE amount of words, and I’m glad you were sorted into horror! Angie, my favorite soul-stealer, I quite enjoyed our conversations and how whenever I shouted something in the main cabin you were usually the first to respond. Your horror cabin art is amazing I can’t put into words how much I love it (except for the fact that Twi’s stealing a soul from me /j). You’re an amazing camper and I hope to keep randomly contacting each other for a very long time! STORM! I’d seen you around in sessions prior and when I saw that you’d be in my cabin, I got excited. We didn’t interact a whole lot until I asked for an art trade and your half IS AMAZING I LITERALLY MADE IT MY DESKTOP I LOVE IT SO MUCH (I SWEAR I’LL FINISH MY HALF SOON SOB), then we quickly became friends. I’m glad I got the chance to know you this month, and I look forward to (hopefully) more art trades (I swear I’ll have more time soon sob)! Anyway, thanks for a memorable session and a new friendship! <3

Thriller:
Ahahaha our biggest competition cabin! I loved your cabin’s theme, the activities, and the PFPS WERE AMAZING–I didn’t have a lot of conversations with you guys, but trust me, I was stalking thriller. Despite the times horror and thriller argued (#HorrorFTW), I really had a lot of fun around your slay cabin, and you had some truly exceptional campers! (I still want those wings). Zai, while we didn’t takl much, I’ll definitely remember your AMAZING workshop, your weekly countdown, your cabin, etc. You’re an amazing leader! <3
Moss, you’re amazing. You’re a co-leader, part of the daily team–there’s nothing you can’t do! Thank you for answering my questions (mostly about the SWSea weekly) and being amazing. I hope to get to know you better soon! (CJP cough cough) Inky, I don’t think I talked to you at all this session, but I knew you were amazing and I love thriller, it’s amazing!
Thriller campers: Here’s a thank you to those who I remember talking to: Kenzie, I enjoyed our few conversations. You’re a really fun person to talk to, and I hope to continue doing so! Ayla, I really enjoyed our short-ish RP we had. (lucky you you get wings) If you ever want to continue it, or just randomly roleplay, I’m up for that! Bree, we interacted once or twice (more memorably on my ‘Mouse’s Accomplishments’ project), and I will forever remember you plant puns, and forever be impressed on how many you have, as well as your high activity level and competitiveness. Iri, while I also didn’t have much interaction with you, I thank you for the kind donation of your soul. I look forward to seeing you around! Finally, Bella. You are amazing. We didn’t talk all that much until the end of camp, except for the Unofficial SWC Help Center and the Amazing Camper Sporkle Squad, which I am so glad to have been a part of… without it, CJP might not exist. Speaking of CJP, you are an AMAZING co-host. Between you and Nat, you are the best co-hosts I could’ve asked for. So even though that’s not SWC-related, thanks for that! <3

NON-FI!!!
You guys were amazing siblings. I couldn’t have asked for better. (well, you and adventure <3) While I didn’t really stalk your cabin much, I did interact with a few of your campers, so:
Alana, it looks like we weren’t in the same cabin after all, but siblings is close enough! So thank you for helping me with the pink and white theme deciding my leader app, being friendly, an amazing soul-stealer of mine (<3), and overall a stellar person (and super fast when adding :0)! Waterfall, we didn’t speak much, but from what I saw you were super this session! I really hope to get to know you better soon! Kora, I enjoyed the times I talked to you! You’re fun and creative and overall extraordinary! <3
Campers: I really didn’t talk to that many of you, but here we go:
Poppy, you’re a fun, creative mango loving person and I’ll definately remember the few times we talked and all the times I stalked your profile comments (*cough* whaaat–never). @_gardenia_, you’re so much fun to talk to–you’ve constantly made me laugh, whether I was in a conversation with you or comment stalking. <3 Yep that’s all my non-fi thank yous I’m probably leaving so much out sorry if I am just know I’m grateful for this amazing session and I’ll remember it eventually but by then it’ll be too late to add it here so–

Folklore:
I saw you guys everywhere. You’re that amazing.
Alia, you’re such a cool person, answering questions, part of the daily team, being overall helpful, etc. when I think of this session, your name will be one of the first that comes to mind. Sandy, I think I talked to you… once? You’re awesome, and I wish I’d talked to you more.
Piper, I really want to talk to you sometime, you sound like an amazing person!
Wari, even though I think you’re technically an honorary, I loved the long conversation we had on your profile, and I hope to continue it soon! *wink*
Campers: I had interactions with a LOT of you. So I’m only going to list the unique conversations peoples:
Loyal. Is anyone surprised Loyal is in my ‘unique conversations’ area? No? I see… Anyway, thanks for the few comments we exchanged, and being overall very cool!
…yeah that’s it I do think I talked to like all of you, so thanks! <3

Dystopian:
You guys are the awesomest of awesomes. I had a whole lot of fun with your cabin, and will remember it forever.
Miss Moonlit (I will start calling you Miss Marmalade after you see my comment on your profile), you were the only sane one left in SWC. From adding points just as cabin wars started to calmly–and politely!–asking Ris and I to stop burning down you cabin, and still being nice to me after everything, you have my eternal respect.
Rice, you are clearly more amazing then I am. From the moment you posted “congrats on horror mouse!! you got this <33” on my profile, we it it off. Now that reply chain is at least 837 replies and counting, and we’re definitely friends. AND WE’RE SO SIMILAR TOO–you definitely will be one of my favorite memories from this session.
Campers:
Nova, I remember your long monologue to Ris and I about hwo you need your dystopian co-leader un-kidnapped, and how we should return her soul and veins. We never listened, of course, but you tried! Sarah, I vaguely remember you from JWC. I also remember that war you sent us (grr) that gave us so much trouble. I hope to see you more! Ave, we did that scene bi-daily together and your piece was so cool I don’t even have word for it!!! *looks up synonyms for ‘amazing’* <3

Sci-Fi:
I really didn’t interact with you guys at all sob sorry </3
You were amazing, your plotline superb, and your leaders fantastic though!

Fantasy:
You were one of the cabins that I blew up with those extremely flammable mangos. (Hope you didn’t mind too much!) You guys got lucky with your leaders–Lio, Soki, and River are amazing!
Lio, while we dind’t talk I’ve seen you lead before–and I was in a session led by you, so I knw first-hand how good of a leader you are.
Soki, I’ve also watched you lead, you’re truly amazing!
River, while we didn’t really talk, I can tell you match the theme with fantasy’s other leaders–cool, kind, and overall amazing! I also love your thank you note to horror, it has everything, including a soul stealing mention! <3
Campers:
September, I’ll remember you for setting horror on fire. As a result, I burned down fantasy. You’re welcome! (<3) Ani, you’re crazy. (/j) I’ll definately remeber our roleplays and weird conversations, and I look forward to seeing to around! <3

Hi-Fi
Another -fi that I didn’t talk to (sob)
And another set of amazing leader I wish I’d talked to. Aside from a few fleeting comments, we didn’t interact at all, but the three of you are amazing and I’m sorry I didn’t manage to drop a hello.
Campers: I interacted with you about as much as I interacted with your marvelous leaders </3

Poetry:
You guys were amazing(ly patient with me)!
Thank you for being awesome and putting up with my lighting your cabin on fire (five to six times, to be exact!).
Stringcheese, I love how you change your nickname slightly each session I love this one so much–you’re so cool and I’m happy to be able to say that when I co-led, you were a leader!
Aspen, I didn’t talk to you, I don’t think, but you are every bit as amazing as your leader.
Jas, I loved talking to you. We’re very similar, in the way that we both draw, we both write, we both love the lunar chronicles (and even the same ships in them!), we both like Alec Benjamin’s music–I hope to keep talking to you!
Campers:
The only one of you guys who I really talked to was Naeda, in the leader apps. You were fun to talk to, and I really enjoyed our conversation! <3

Mystery:
Yet another cabin I didn’t really interact with </3
You guys are amazing and so are your leaders, and I wish I could’ve interacted more </33
People I said a few things to/I remember this session: Paige, Luna, Clem and Kar.

Fan-fi:
I didn’t interact with the cabin, but I sure did talk to campers!
Skye, you’re a funny, brilliant person and I don’t mind you and Twi having entire conversations on my profile (in fact, go ahead! <3)
Vee, I don't think we talked, but I can tell you’re an awesome person.
Raya, we didn’t talk much, but you are amazing! The three of you came up with such a cool, polished cabin!
Campers:
Ember, we talked a /few/ times… (okay, more then a few.) You’re so much fun to talk to, and you’re smart, creative, and awesome! (I also remembered you from a certain lyric prank chain last session :eyes:… ) If you are Jade, keep reading *wink*. Nayeli, we had a few interactions that made me think of you. Fen, I remember you from the leader apps. You were the one with one of the coolest ones, right (Colorstrology)? *wink* You were so creative with that, and thanks for talking to me! Aaaand finally, the amazing Nat!!! I’d seen you in other sessions and stalked your profile quite a bit this session. I didn’t really talk to you until the Amazing Camper Sporkle Squad, where you offered to help me with my vague idea of a may writing camp! (cough cough CJP cough cough) You are an amazing person with wonderful ideas and a vast knowledge on how to host stuff. Without you, I’d be CJP host toast. (OMG I love that it rhymes) So thank you, Nat!!!

Bi-fi
Look, it’s a -fi that I interacted with!!! :0
Goose, while we didn’t talk, (except for once) I watched you from afar, and your leadership skills are amazing!
Coco, you were the co-leader of the JWC rebel cabin, which is where I met you. (I still have that pfp you made saved to my computer) I enjoyed that session, and I’m sure your bi-fi campers had as much fun is bi-fi as I did in rebel!
Juli, we didn’t talk, but I also observed you from afar and have also determined that you are a great co-leader!
Campers:
Val, I really enjoyed the times we talked this session. I’ve seen you in a couple, but this is the session I think we talked the most, so thanks! And Lynx, who I met this session, you’re an awesome person, I see why Rice is friends with you. I’m very glad that we met, and I hope you are too! <3

Script:
Your cabin is awesome, guys <3
Luna, while I didn’t really talk to you, you did an amazing job, as well as Starr and Robin, who I also didn’t really talk to. <///3
Campers:
The only person that I really talked to here was Pepper. You are enthusiastic and amazing, and amazing to talk to! I look forward to seeing you in SWC sessions to come, as well as CJP and whatever other camps we both end up in!

Adventure:
Despite the fact that we are siblings, I didn’t really talk to many of you. </3 Your cabin was amazing, the theme was so well thought out, and you even had time to make a trailer! Overall, your cabin was amazing.

Real-fi:
The Cabin That Will Not Win shoul’ve won, you guys were so amazing. I love the concept of it, even though I’m probably not going to be in it because I’m competitive, I think this is a great idea. The ‘Lives Behind the Screens’ project was SO COOL, I think we should do it as a main cabin activity! While I didn’t talk to many of you, I enjoyed watching your amazing cabin from afar!

And the final thank you goes to: People Who Asked/Told Twi to Go to Bed:
Rice, Ris, Rea, Raya, Val, Jade, Poppy, Ember, Alana, Waterfall, Aubree, Jasper, Silky, Moss, Alia, Paige, me (Mouse), and everyone else who asked.

My final SWC writing piece || 1103 words

Mango enters the main cabin with the hope of excitement and chaos in the air, in the spirit of the last day. But instead, it felt solemn, but content. And, some rushing going on in random places.
“Must… meet… word goal…” they heard as they walked through the front doors from a person typing vigorously on a computer. They giggled a bit, knowing how they felt. They still had a few words to write by the end of the day to finally reach their word goal for once.
“I'm going to miss you all,” said a camper, hugging a bunch of other campers. Looking at their clothing, they seemed to belong to Horror. They confirmed Mango's theory by then screaming “Horror for the win!!!”
“Yeah!” The other campers hugging that camper screamed after them. The 4 of them then went around with grins on their faces, sharpies in their hands, and wrote #Horrorftw wherever they could find space. A few of their enemies tossed some mangoes lit on fire, which became a mini war. But it was still friendly, no one got hurt, like usual. Mango laughed on the sidelines, feeling slightly upset that this'll all be gone in hours…

“Attention, it's 10pm, UTC. 2 more hours until SWC officially ends. All people in CEST are asked to no longer add words written after this moment. We thank you for joining SWC,” someone through a speaker, likely a (co-)host, said. Very few people closed their laptops, or notebooks, in disappointment. Luckily for Mango, they still had 6 hours to finish writing. So, they got to a computer, and typed random words that came to their mind.

After roughly 30 minutes of nothing but typing, Mango stopped, and left the main cabin. They went the direction they always did to get to the non-fi cabin. Opening the door, they were greeted with grins and waves.
“Hiya Mango!” Alana said, smiling.
“Heyo,” Mango responded. They took a seat nearby. “I can't believe SWC is already so close to over…”
“Yeah, I can't either,” Kora said, sighing. “Technically, SWC is already over for me…” A bunch of people sighed or nodded in response.
“Oh… that's too bad…” one camper said.
Mango, almost feeling like they were going to cry, went out of the back door of the non-fi cabin, 3 other cabins, surrounding them as they did. They looked for the one labeled “Camp Velociraptor” and went in. It was empty, and on a desk where Waterfall occasionally sat at, there was a pile of sticky notes. Mango grabbed one and wrote down “+449 words for a random story”, placed it on the wall of word count updates, and left.

They went back to the main cabin to gain some motivational mangoes, and went back to work on one more story to end this session off with. Typing furiously, they sat there for a while, likely 45 minutes or so (with breaks every so often of course).
“It's officially 11 pm in UTC, only one more hour until SWC ends. Those in BST mustn't add any words written after this point. Thank you for participating in SWC this session,” said someone through a speaker. Mango kept working through that announcement.

“Finally, it's finished!” Mango exclaimed, looking at their finished product. They stood up, looking around at everyone. Half an hour left. Just half an hour until SWC was technically over. Everyone was gradually crowding into the main cabin in both excitement and sadness. Mango sat around, putting their writing into the SWC forum so anyone could look at their goodbye piece.

“Attention all campers,” said someone through the speaker. The crowd was larger than ever. “SWC ends in UTC in 5 minutes, feel free to gather in the main cabin for the countdown, as well as some music.” Music that made everyone cheer and dance started playing. Gee, 5 minutes left…

“5, 4, 3, 2, 1!” Everyone exclaimed at the same time.
“Attention campers, SWC is officially over in UTC, thanks for joining in this session! Don't forget, if it's not April 1st in your time zone, you still have then until you can no longer write words that go towards your word count. Thank you for participating in this session, and we all hope to see you in July,” said someone in a speaker again. It was over now… people were crying, but smiling. Everyone was saying their goodbyes and thank yous. It was so loud that even if Mango tried to yell, no one would hear them. Instead, they whispered.
“Dear (co-)hosts, thanks for making SWC possible, I imagine all of the work into making sure everything runs smoothly is difficult. To those who hosted it in the past, I also thank you to make sure this triannual tradition continued.
”For the Daily Team and MBC, I also thank you for creating all of the extras and challenges, like the dailies/weeklies, and the Memory Book that'll eventually be released. You guys are just as awesome as the (co-)hosts!
“To all of the (co-)leaders, great job! Even though I didn't check on every cabin very often, your storylines looked awesome! It must've taken a lot of work to make sure everything went well in your cabin…
”And a special thanks to Alana, Kora, and Waterfall, the Non-fi cabin leader and co-leaders, you all created a very amazing theme, I never knew how fun the non-fi cabin could be, really! You were all so helpful and motivational, especially with the discounts, which really helped with my motivation. You guys are great and hope to see you next session!
“And of course, all of the campers! You all helped make SWC into a pleasurable experience! Talking, writing, helping each other out, whatever it was, it really made this session wholesome! I wish I could've talked to you all a bit more, I'll try to make that a goal for next time.”
Mango stopped talking, and for a moment, they had forgotten they were in a noisy room, but it didn't matter. They walked out of the main cabin, waving, but unnoticed, and headed back to the non-fi cabin.
“Hey, Mango!” A few people who were still in the non-fi cabin said as they entered. They waved back, said hi, but other than that, ignored them, and walked straight out of the back door.
They went back to the cabin called “Camp Velociraptor”, and back to the desk with the sticky notes. ‘+1103 words for this final piece of writing for SWC’ they wrote, followed by a link, a link to this story.

Birdi
Hi Birdi!! First of all, thank you so much for offering to me this session—your ideas for Real-Fi Resort were literally so cool, and I know that I would have had a wonderful time working with you! And the cabin you created with Raye and JC was so cool—the cabin that will not win was such a great idea, and it seemed to work so well for everyone involved! I also loved your daily chickens (wonderful pun ;D), and every time I visited your cabin everyone seemed to be having such a good (and low-stress!) time. On a sadder note, I can't believe that this is your last session as host. You've been hosting in every session that I've been around, and you've become such a huge part of SWC in my mind. While it's sad to say goodbye, I'm glad that you're doing the best thing for yourself, and I can't wait to see where you'll go next <3

Robin
Hi Robin!! I know we haven't talked in a while, but I really appreciate everything you do for SWC! It's been great to see what the Script cabin has been up to throughout the month (while I still haven't listened to the full Hadestown album, your theme looks amazing :0)! Thank you so much for letting me help out on the quail team (that was so much fun! ) and updating so many dt-related things for me xD

Sun
Hello there Sun :0 As I am writing this we are mid-raconteur—I'm pretty sure I can tell some of the parts are yours, they are very funny xD While we haven't talked much, it's been so much fun to listen to your music (amazing no matter how much background noise there may be!) and get to know you a bit! Thanks for everything you do as a co-host for SWC as well—I appreciate all you do for the camp!!

Daily team
It's been a crazy couple of months xDD Despite the frequent pushing back of due dates and slow progress on many of our projects, I still undeniably had an amazing time working with you all. Getting to work on the project weekly (and seeing all the campers' reactions <3) was one of the highlights of my session, and I'm so glad that I had the chance to make it! Thank you all for the wonderful session <3

Starr
Starr!! It's been so great to talk to you this session—albeit mostly about dt stuff—and despite everything that seems to be going on irl, you did a great job managing the daily team! Thank you so much for all of your help and all of the questions you answered, your wonderful weekly workshops, and everything else you've done for SWC <3

Luna
Hi Luna!! I've really enjoyed talking to you this session, from the random music listening sessions to the many status related questions to everything related to the daily team—you're such a fun, chaotic, and amazing person! Thank you so much for everything you do for SWC <33

Alia!
ALIAA YAY!! At last it is time for one of the most important thank yous of all—thank you so so so much for getting me into Epic xDD It has been such a huge part of my life over the past few weeks, from listening in the car to drawing what is probably way too many fanarts (I swear I've drawn Polites like twenty times by now xDD) even to a not-all-that-great fanfiction xD
Anywayy enough about epic—the more important part is that it's been incredible to get to know you this session!! I remember seeing you around a lot last session (and regrettably not talking to you much </33), but this session is definitely when we've talked the most! You're such a fun person to be around, and I've enjoyed every minute we've spent together (even the sitting in silence in a vc and working on separate things xD). You've also been such an amazing part of the daily team—you did literally so much, not only with the dailies but with everything you took on to help me out with the final weekly—I really appreciate you taking the time to let me ramble to you about whatever code I was working on, and of course writing some of the 60 slides of pirate dialogue xD
While I haven't looked around Folklore all that much, it seems to be such an amazing cabin—I absolutely love the idea of the spell shop and the ingredient collecting, and all your campers seem to be having a blast with everything you've planned! I know it can be kind of hectic to get a cabin together as a first-time leader, but you're doing such a great job <33
Thank you so much for all of the fun times this session—I really hope we can stay connected!

Lio
Hi Lio!! While we didn't talk a lot this session, it was so great to be on the daily team with you!! All the dailies you wrote were super cool, and I really appreciated all your help with the weekly workshops! On top of that, Fantasy looked amazing! The swirly thumbnails and cool theme looked like so much fun!!

Soki
Sokiii the awesomest weekly buddy <33 Finally after like three sessions we've talked to each other a bit more!! I've thoroughly enjoyed every time we have, from the occasional conversations on each other's profile to all of our discussions for the daily team. Also, as I mentioned in Lio's note, Fantasy is looking amazing!! I love your theme, and all your campers seem to be having so much fun!

Rea
Hey Rea!! First of all, your theme for Mystery is literally so cool—if I were a camper this session it's definitely one of the cabins I would have wanted to be in!! All the puzzles and ciphers sound so cool, and it was awesome to see all your campers talking in one of them when I checked out your cabin earlier xD Also, thank you for all you did for the daily team—you did a great job choosing workshop writers, all of them turned out so good!!

CJ
HELLOO CJEY Unfortunately we didn't talk a lot this month, but I still really enjoyed being chaotic with you whenever possible! I'm so glad that you were able to co-lead a cabin this session—you did such an amazing job with everything from the trailer to your epic Gemmi backstory to the over two hundred costumes you made in the pfp project. xD It was also so fun to do Raconteur with you, Billy Bob Jr. is the greatest <3 Thanks for all of your motivation and overall awesomeness throughout this session, you're an awesome friend/SWC parent <33

Alana
Hi Alana (such a cool name :00)! It's been so great to get to know you a bit this session—all of our conversations were so fun! You've been such a great leader as well, Non-Fi is looking so cool, the overall aesthetic (the pfps you made are so cool!!), theme, and the super cool projects in the cabin (the excavation one looks so interesting :0) are all amazing!! Thank you for everything you did for SWC this session—you're awesome <33 (and I loved reading your workshop!!)

Reese
Hi Reese!! You've been such a fun presence in SWC this session—it's been great to talk with you, get to know you, welcome you to the chaotic kitten family, and of course listen to Epic together xDD You seem like such an awesome co—all your ideas for Dystopian are so cool, and I love the matching profile pictures you've made!! It seems like we have a lot in common, and I'd love to continue to talk after this session!

Ivy
Hey Ivy!! It's been awesome to talk to you more this session, you're such a fun, motivational, and overall amazing person!! And your art and writing are so cool as well—I really enjoyed reading that Scythe poem! Thanks for all of the fun times this session <33

Elfie
Hi Elfie While we haven't talked very much, I've really enjoyed it when we have—you're such a kind, fun, and interesting person! It was really fun to play Raconteur with you last night too—almost every one of your parts had some sort of reference that, while I recognized, I usually did not understand xDD Your non-chaotic game related writing is amazing, too—everything I've read by you, even dailies, seems like it has so much thought put into it!! Thanks for all the fun memories this session, it's been great to talk to you <3

Moonlit! <3
Yayy Miss Moonlit!!! <33 Yet again, I've left this one for last—there's just so much to say!! We've known each other for almost a year now, and over that time you've definitely become one of my best friends. All of our conversations, about things anywhere from our plans for next session to whatever's happening in our lives to exchanging compliments to any other randomness that pops into our heads have been so much fun—even on the days when I'm doing several things at once, I always enjoy talking to you. You're the kind of person who I really feel like is always there for me, and I really appreciate that <33
On top of being an incredible friend, you're also such a great leader! Despite you saying that you don't think I had much to learn from you, I definitely did in November and still do today—all of your ideas and the way you have of combining everyone's thoughts together to create something amazing is truly incredible. Dystopian is such a cool cabin, and, while I am happy with my choice of Thriller this session, I'm sure that co-ing with you and Reese would have been an amazing experience as well! All of your planning, especially for your CYOA story, seems so interesting, and it seems like your ideas worked so well together!! I can't wait to go through all of the compiled storyline information—it seems like you had an unbelievable amount of planning and writing going on behind the scenes :0 And, of course, thank you for letting me be an honorary this session—while I didn't check in a whole lot, Dystopian was such a fun, conversational, and motivation cabin, and all the time I spent around you, Reese, and your campers has been incredible!!
Thank you for everything you do for SWC, and for all of the happiness that you bring to my life <33

- Coco's SWC Thank You Notes -
I can't believe this session's already over! :') Before I get into the personal thank yous, can I just thank each and every one of you for making this session so amazing! This has been an incredible month and I am so lucky to have been able to co-lead this session. So thank you, everyone, for making SWC what it is, and I hope to see some of you in July <33
Now, into the thank yous!

- Bi-Fi Thank Yous -

Goose - First off, thank you so much for choosing me to be your co-leader. I am so honoured to have worked with you this session, and I hope to talk to you more. You are so inspiring and I'm so grateful to you for all the memories I've made this session. You and Juli worked so hard on brainstorming and planning with me, to make Bi-fi what it was. The banners you made look incredible, and thank you for making the schedules for our activities (it was actually so helpful ngl) I hope to see you around Scratch, or maybe in future sessions <33 Thank you so much for the amazing session, I'll never forget it.

Juli - I first met you in Mystery in November, which was my first ever session of SWC, as a camper. Mystery was so well planned and I loved the whole aesthetic of it. So, when I found out you were going to be the other co-leader for Bi-fi, I was really excited to work with you. You've had so many great ideas, and you are so talented at making all those thumbnails (thank you so much for that btw). Thank you so much for making our cabin and other Bi-fi studio etc. look so incredible, and coming up with/organising the scavenger hunt and other activities for the campers. I hope to talk to you more <33 Thanks for the amazing session!

To all the Bi-Fi campers - Hey everyone! All of you have been so incredible this session, and you've worked so hard to write and complete dailies and weeklies, along with our in-cabin activities. We are so proud of all the effort you've put in, and we hope you've had an as amazing session as us. Even those of you who haven't been as active as others have still dropped in to add words and to hang out with us. I really hope you've all enjoyed it, and you should all be so, so proud of yourselves. I hope to see you around scratch, or maybe in future sessions! <33

To the (co)hosts - Robin, Birdi, Luna, Sun and Starr, you are all such awesome people, and you really are the heart of SWC. Thank you all so much for everything you do (and you do a lot!) for us, and for making SWC what it is. It really would not be where it is today without you guys. You have all created such an incredible atmosphere for writers across Scratch and I am eternally grateful to you for that. Thank you all, once again. <33

To everyone else - This includes the other (co)leaders, and campers. You've all done so well this session, and I've loved talking to a few of you. You're all such amazing people and I'm so glad that you all participated in this camp. Although I've anly spoken to a few of you, I loved getting to know those few people, and you've all contributed to the awesome month that was SWC March 2023! (A special note for the (co)leaders - I loved talking to you all on the forum, and working on making this session so amazing. All of your cabins looked incredible and you all worked so hard. Thank you all! <33).

SWC Megathread || March 2023

I wake up every morning to the sound of my six children running around the house. It's always an annoying start to my day but I'm grateful to have it. My oldest is 12 years old, and my youngest is just 6 months. Whenever I walk into the kitchen, I can hear the sounds of cereal being poured into bowls and milk being splashed around. Sometimes when I get up I don't want to stand but I must because my children rely on me.

Having so many kids is a full time job. I have trouble balacning my work and my kids to make sure that they are doing okay and I am paying the taxes too. But both jobs I love and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have always known that I wanted a big family, and now that I have one, I am so grateful.

People often ask me how I manage to handle six children all at once. It's not easy, but I have a system that works for me. I have to be organized and efficient with my time, and I have to be patient and calm even when things get hectic. I rely on routines and schedules to keep everyone on track, and I try to involve my older children in helping with the younger ones.

Of course, there are challenges that come with having a big family. Financially, it can be a struggle to provide for six children, especially when they all have different needs and interests. We have to be careful with our money and make sure that we prioritize our spending. We may not be able to afford luxury vacations or expensive toys, but we always find ways to have fun and make memories together.

There are also times when I feel overwhelmed and exhausted. It can be hard to balance my own needs with the needs of my children, and there are days when I just want to curl up in bed and take a nap. But even on those tough days, I remind myself of how lucky I am to have six healthy, happy children who love me unconditionally.

One of the things that I love most about having a big family is the bond that we all share. My children are each other's best friends, and they have a support system that will always be there for them. They learn from each other, they play together, and they comfort each other when they are upset. As a mother, there is nothing more heartwarming than seeing the love that my children have for each other.

Being a mother of six children has taught me so much about myself and about life. I have learned to be patient, flexible, and resilient in the face of challenges. I have learned to appreciate the little moments of joy and to cherish the time that I have with my family. I have learned that no matter how difficult things may seem, there is always a way to make it work.

My children are the light of my life and although they're a handful I'm gonna be honest and admit I love them. They are beautiful little brats and are mine. I plan to start fostering children when only 2 of then are still living in the house because I feel ill be a great mom for all and they agree. I'm excited to see what our future years hold.

SWC Megathread || March 2023

Thank You Notes

Alright, so first off I want to preface this with a general thank you to everyone in SWC. The community that has been built around this camp means so, so much to me, and whether you are a host, (co)leader, camper, or honorary, I am incredibly grateful for what you do. SWC is an amazing place and I’m so glad to have been a part of it for three sessions now. You all are incredible <333

Birdi: While we did not interact much this session, I am so grateful for everything that you have done and continue to do to keep SWC running. I can’t even imagine the effort that must go into both hosting and leading a cabin. You are so dedicated to this camp and the people in it; it’s apparent in all the large (organizing camp-wide activities) and small (checking in with every cabin at some point during the session) that you do. Not to mention that you’re just a wonderful human being and writer! SWC wouldn’t be around without you, and for that we all owe you an immense amount of thanks.

Robin: Just as I said to Birdi, we all owe you a countless number of thanks for all you do as a host. It’s truly admirable how dedicated and hardworking you are. I’m also amazed by the amount of effort you put into sorting; it’s clear how much time and thoughtfulness you put into the task, even going so far as to ensure that most campers get one of their cabin preferences. The fact that you did a considerable amount of this on your own is even more impressive! And though I’ve only interacted with you once or twice, you seem like such a fun, kind person (and a band kid!!). You’re such an incredible host and fellow SWC-er.

Luna: I have not interacted much with you this session, but I have seen you around quite a bit throughout the past few months. From what I’ve observed, you’re such a funny, thoughtful, compassionate person who brings so much positivity and joy to this little community of writers. You work so hard, like all the other (co)hosts, to make SWC possible; I am constantly in awe of your dedication and commitment to this camp. In addition, you seem like such a fun, supportive person and friend. I would love to get to know you more.

Starr: While I don’t think I’ve ever spoken with you, I am still so thankful for everything that you’ve contributed to SWC. This session was incredible as always and it wouldn’t have been at all possible without you! The sheer amount of time and effort it must take to be a co-host is scarcely imaginable to me, and yet you seem to be handling it so well. You’re also a brilliant writer; the amount of thoughtfulness and beauty you weave through your works is astounding. Thank you once again, and I hope that I can get to know you better in the future. <3

Sun: You are incredible. From your astounding writing, to your contributions to camp, to your beautiful voice and overall thoughtfulness, I am constantly amazed by everything you do. You are the writer and responsible, hard working individual that I aspire to be one day. I’m so fortunate to have gotten to know you these past few months, and hope to continue to do so in the future! Thank you for everything <333

The Daily Team: You all worked so hard this session, and it shows! The dailies and weeklies throughout the month were so fun and creative; I learned quite a bit more than I expected to about mystery stories, time travel, and general writing than I expected to! The project weekly was especially fun. I loved the character of Smarlls and the overall pirate/ocean theme, and I will definitely be finishing up my suspense story in April. (Also the Epic music <33) Thank you all for your hard work; this session truly would not have been half as enjoyable without you.

The Quails: Sorting campers is no doubt a difficult and tedious task, but you did such incredible work! You got it done in an impressively short amount of time, and Robin was so extremely thoughtful with the placings. I don’t think sorting is ever really a job I considered much until this session, and I am awed by how quickly and carefully it is done. Thank you for your hard and very necessary work <3

The Writing Comp Judges: You’re all getting your own individualized notes soon, but first I wanted to thank you each for your contributions as judges! I cannot imagine the amount of work that must go into reading every single submission, and then proceeding to weigh them against each other and assign placings. And all within a month! If anyone can do it though, it’s this session’s judging panel; there couldn’t possibly be a better team than the three of you <3 Thank you so, so much, for putting in the time and effort to make the writing competition possible. I’m excited to see the results (no rush though, of course!) <33

Zaine: It has been such an honor to work with you these past couple of months. I don’t think I could possibly have asked for a better person to co-lead for my first session in this role. Your ideas were amazing, and I had so much fun helping bring them to life and watching them unfold. The cabin theme idea, as well as the smaller things (pfps and sticker banners) felt like such original concepts and I feel so fortunate to have been a part of it all. In addition, I’ve enjoyed getting to know you as a person; you’re such a kind, thoughtful, hard-working individual and collaborating has been such a pleasure <33 Not to mention that your art and writing is jaw-droppingly gorgeous (those butterfly wings ahhh). You always go the extra mile with things (the ambigrams come to mind, they were so incredibly cool), and to be honest I’m not sure how you do it. The way you manage to juggle cabin leading, daily team projects, sorting, schoolwork, and extracurriculars, and exceed at all of it, is seriously impressive. Have all the lasagna, and please remember to take a break for yourself sometime <333

Moss: I am so, so grateful to have been able to co-lead a cabin with you. Your ideas for our cabin were all wonderful, and fleshed out Zaine’s in a way that was amazing to see. Not to mention your art skills (the cabin trailer :starstruck and your contributions to the Daily Team! The fact that you managed all of this while moving states and staying dedicated to robotics is very admirable. I’ve also appreciated the opportunities I got to know you better; all those times we hung out listening to music were so much fun, and I’d love to do it again! You’re such a creative, kind, friendly person, and co-leading with you has been an absolute pleasure. <33 I’m so grateful to have gotten to know you better this month.

Ayid: I know you feel that you were inactive, but I still remember seeing you around quite a bit! You were a lovely camper and I will definitely miss having you around in the cabin. I’d love to get to know you more as well; feel free to reach out or come by my profile to say hi! I’m always up for a chat <3 (Please don’t feel the need to apologize about inactivity, either! I completely understand how frustrating strict parents can be, and I hope you’ll be able to get back into writing soon!)

Kenzie: You were such an active and enthusiastic camper! From your jokes to your dedication to completing the storyline to your crazy pfps, and you were an absolute joy to have as a in the cabin <33 I hope that you had fun this session, and that this won’t be the last time I see you around SWC!

Kit: I was so excited when I saw that we would be in Thriller together again! Your dedication to writing is very admirable, and I appreciated seeing how active you were throughout the entire session. You’re such a sweet, friendly person and I’d absolutely be down to chat again sometime! Hopefully this won’t be the last time we see each other around camp <333

Lucy: Can you believe that this is the third time in a row we’ve been in a cabin together?! You’ve always been so kind and brilliant in the past, and this session was no exception <3 I loved seeing you around, whether you were participating in cabin activities or simply adding words. Your sweet personality and stunning talent for writing are both seriously impressive, and I’m so glad you were sorted into Thriller. <33

Bree: You were an absolute joy to have as a camper; your enthusiasm, energy, and plant puns never failed to bring a smile to my face Not to mention that you were one of the most active people in Thriller! I was really impressed by how many activities you helped complete and how many cabin wars you completely carried xD I’m so glad that you had fun and want to sign up for SWC next session. I hope to see you there!

Bella: Though I did not interact with you much this session, I could immediately tell what a sweet person you are <3 You were such a kind, earnest camper and also one of the few people I recognized from previous sessions xD I was really excited when I saw that you had been sorted into Thriller. If you ever feel like chatting, feel free to drop a comment on my profile. I’d love to get to know you further!

Clo: You were perhaps one of the coolest, most creative people in our cabin! I was seriously blown away by the prologue of the novel that you began at the start of camp. (That opening paragraph is incredible oh my goodness!) If you ever continue it, let me know; I'd love to read the rest! I was also impressed by the backstory that you developed for your masquerade character. Not many campers put that much effort or thought into the person behind their nickname, which made yours even cooler! Keep writing, and I sincerely hope that this won’t be the last I see of you <33

Iri: Your dedication to writing is seriously impressive! Congratulations on meeting your word goal; 60k is a very high amount of words, and you should be proud of yourself for writing that much <33 I appreciated the little conversations we had, and your eagerness to help out with cabin activities. You were such a driven yet friendly camper, and I’d love to chat again sometime!

Ayla: I was overjoyed when I saw that you had been placed in Thriller! You’re such a sweet, friendly, imaginative person, and I was really looking forward to writing alongside you for a third session <33 You brought a certain sense of whimsy into the cabin, with your talking polar bears and adorable banners. (I especially loved the tea party with the skull xD) It’s been absolutely incredible getting to know you and watching you grow as a writer <333 I really hope that this won’t be our last session together

Westy: While I didn’t speak with you all that much this session, it was immediately clear what a kind, friendly person you are! You were one of the more active campers, and I admire your dedication in how you made sure to participate in all the in-cabin challenges and games. I hope you had fun this month <333 I look forward to hopefully seeing you again sometime!

Lizzy: Besides being one of the most active Thriller campers, you were also so sweet, funny, and enthusiastic! It was truly such a pleasure to have you in this cabin. You were so eager to participate and help out; I don’t think we would have finished any of the collaborative writing challenges without your lengthy and creative responses xD Your enjoyment of the cabin activities and love for storytelling were definitely apparent <333 Keep on writing, and I certainly hope that this won’t be the last we see of each other <3

Zara: Though I only spoke to you a few times, you seem like a really friendly, creative person <33 I hope that you enjoyed your time in Thriller, and that you will continue writing in the future. Feel free to visit my profile if you’re ever in the mood for a chat; I’d love to get to know you more sometime!

Aruna: While I only spoke to you a few times before the session started, I remember being instantly struck by what a thoughtful, friendly individual you were! You were so polite and eager, and I was incredibly excited for you to experience the wonderful community that is SWC. I do understand that real life does get in the way of that, though </3 I hope that things are going alright, and if you ever decide to sign up for camp again I’ll be very glad to see you! <33

Misty, El, Shu, Creame: I unfortunately wasn’t able to get to know any of you very well. However, from the couple of times I did interact with you, you all seemed like such friendly, kind people. I would love to get to know all of you more in the future. Feel free to stop by my profile and say hello; I’d be very happy to see you!

Thriller: This session was amazing, and it wouldn’t have been nearly so special without you. Your enthusiasm, kindness, and support mean the world to me, and I feel so grateful to have been a part of this cabin <33 I realize that I said this already in some of your individual notes, but now I’ll say it to all of you: please, if you’re ever in a mood to chat, come by my profile to say hello! I’ll be more than happy to talk with you. I had so much fun getting to know you this month, and would love to continue to do so in the future <333

Elfie: You are one of the most kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and talented people I have had the pleasure of meeting in SWC. Everything you write is an absolute joy to read, from your gorgeously crafted poems to your hilariously creative plays. I am constantly stunned by just how amazing you are. Thank you so much for critiquing my writing competition entry as well. Your suggestions and input genuinely helped so much; that piece would not be half as good as it turned out if it weren’t for you. Also, no one has ever described my prose as “airy” before?! Thank you for that compliment. It meant and still does mean the world to me, especially coming from you. I have so much admiration and respect for you, and am incredibly grateful for the things you’ve done this session, both as a fellow writer and friend.

CJ: It has been absolutely fantastic getting to know you better these past few months! You’re such a funny, kind, wonderfully chaotic person, and I am so grateful to have you as a friend <33 I also want to thank you again for critiquing my writing my competition entry. That first draft was definitely a bit rough, and the finished story flows so much more smoothly thanks to your input. You’re such an awesome friend, and I hope to get to know you even better in the future <333

Reese: You are easily one of the sweetest people I have met on Scratch <33 You radiate this kind of energy that I can’t really describe; it sounds so cliche, but if I knew you in real life I’d say that you light up the room around you xD You’re so compassionate and friendly, and go completely out of your way to make sure everyone feels welcome. I regret not talking to you more this session, but the few times we did interact were such a pleasure. I had so much fun discussing Six of Crows, Epic, and whatever else came up in the conversation with you! Dystopian was absolutely incredible this session as well! You and Moonlit made an awesome team, and I really wish I had hung out more in your cabin xD Thank you so much for being your amazing self <33 I hope we can continue to chat and hang out more in the future, if that’s something you’re open to!

Ava: We haven’t interacted all that much this session, but the few times we have were so much fun! You’re such a fun, creative person to be around (your writing and art is freaking gorgeous) and I regret not talking to you more. I’ve greatly enjoyed being your sibling under the chaotic parenting of Elfie and Moonlit, and hope we can hang out more often in the future. <33

Moonlit: We regrettably did not interact all that much this session. Even so, I owe you a huge thanks for everything you’ve done for me in the past <33 I always admired the leadership skills you displayed as a Thrillian and Fantasian; you had a way of helping campers to connect and feel like they were all truly a part of the cabin community. I tried my best to emulate some of this when co-leading with Zaine and Moss, and I do think that the example you set helped me a lot! You’re a truly amazing leader and have taught me so much about what the position means. In addition, you’re just a wonderfully supportive friend. I honestly don’t know what I did to deserve you <33 Thank you for all the encouragement and advice you’ve offered throughout these past few months: suggesting that I apply for co-leader, cheering me on through the process, helping introduce me to Zaine, Moss, and the rest of our chaotic family on the other place. You’re absolutely incredible, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am to know you <33 If you ever want to chat, you know where to find me; I’d be more than happy to discuss Six of Crows, writing, or whatever else it is you’d like to talk about

Alia: Ahh where do I even start? You have been such an amazing friend, both inside and outside of SWC. I have spent countless wonderful hours procrastinating with you on work, chatting about books and fanfiction and musicals and so many other random things xD I do not regret any of it <3 The funny thing is, in spite of all that you've managed to be so productive this session, too! You’re on the daily team, the writing comp judging team, and a cabin leader, not to mention all your irl stuff as well. I don’t know where or how you find the energy, just that you’re seriously amazing. And if that wasn’t enough, your writing is freaking incredible!? You have a way of weaving together words in a way that is simple and yet oh so beautiful. I cannot get enough of it, and look forward to our critique exchange every session. Thank you for letting me read your work, it is seriously such a pleasure. (I’m still not completely over how gorgeous your Hadestown fic was, ahhh; you really have a knack for writing the sweetest, most heartbreakingly lovely romances.) I appreciate the critiques you’ve written for me as well. You always have some useful feedback to provide, whether it concerns the clarity of the story or some little grammar errors that I missed xD I look forward to reading your suggestions as much as I do your short stories <33 And critique exchanges aside, you’re such an awesome, supportive friend. I’ve enjoyed obsessing over Epic and various books with you. I’m appreciative of your advice concerning both irl things and random fanfics (Ravioli chapter three is coming soon, I promise!). Most of all, I’m just really grateful to be your friend. Thank you so, so much for everything <333

Logan: While we haven’t interacted much within SWC, I still wanted to write you a note of thanks for everything else <33 You were one of the first people I met on Scratch, and I am so grateful that that was the case. I’ll admit, you set my standards pretty high for the amount of skill and effort that Scratchers put into their roleplays xD I was a bit disappointed when I struggled to find others who displayed the same amount of competence in building their characters and plotlines. Currently, our roleplay is the only one I have going on! It’s been so fun getting to know Nova and exploring the kingdoms of Nox and Solis together, all while getting a feel for Corvina as well! The way you write characterization and dialogue is seriously impressive; Nova’s bold, sarcastic personality crackles to life in every line of dialogue, description, and action that you give her. I’ve enjoyed getting to know you better outside of the roleplay, too! I don’t know that many people who have read The Lunar Chronicles, and fangirling over it with you was so much fun. I hope you enjoyed your first SWC session, and that it won’t be your last - if so, I look forward to seeing you around camp in July!

SWC Megathread || March 2023

My thank you note <3

Dear SWC,

I write this with a heavy heart, but also a full one.

My very first session of SWC was November 2019. My first session co-leading was July 2020. My first leading, November 2020. I then applied for leader a second time and was asked to host SWC on March 7th, 2021. My first session hosting was July 2021, and this is my sixth. It’s been more than three years. I find that unbelievable. But I’m so, so, thankful.

SWC has quite literally changed the course of my life. Without it, I don’t know who I would be today. It has taught me how to be brave, how to stand up and go for it. How to be a leader.

Again, I started SWC in 2019. Then the pandemic struck, and I lost virtually all of my social skills. But this little online community helped me build them back up. And it educated me about so much. Leading, hosting, and even just participating in SWC has improved my:

• Writing skills
• Creativity
• Leadership skills
• Organization skills
• Scheduling skills
• Reliability
• Responsibility
• Taking initiative
• Delegating skills
• Debating skills
• Courage
• Decisiveness
• Relationship building skills
• Negotiation skills
• Conflict management skills
• Empathy
• Social skills (sense of humor, even)
• Critiquing skills
• Understanding of communities
• Understanding of representation, politics, and many other key issues
• Understanding of life as a whole
• Mental state and wellbeing

Back in November, I ran for classroom representative at my school, and I lost. Sometimes, things don’t go the way you want them to. I’ve learned that from SWC as well. What is infinitely more important to me is the courage I had to actually run, and the fact that it was due almost entirely to this amazing camp. Without SWC, I would never have run. I wouldn’t have even known what to say. But I got up there, and I quoted my SWC leader apps.

I also started a Green Team at my school this year, which I believe has been fairly successful. I would never have had the courage and decisiveness to do so without SWC.

This session with TCTWNW, I learned to let go of competition and comparison and to motivate myself, two things that, I admit, gradually became more difficult over the course of my time here. I leave now with a solid foundation of values and skills that will be with me throughout my entire life. There came a point a few months ago where I realized I was putting in more than I was getting out. I attempted to ease that with TCTWNW, and so I’ve reached a place of peace — which I believe is a good stepping off point.

I will always keep writing. I will always seek out leadership opportunities. This is my promise to myself, and SWC will be why I stay true to it.

Regrettably, I cannot find the words to articulate everything that I have learned for you all right this moment. But I do want to say that I’ll always be here to offer advice on anything at all related to SWC should you ever need it. My advice is just advice, but I would hope it might be helpful in some way.

Perhaps I’ll return to SWC in the future. I don’t know in what role, or when, if ever, but that’s always a possibility. And I’ll keep checking in on Scratch occasionally to see what’s going on. But I’ll have drifted away, and that’s okay.

I’ve written many, many, thank you notes over the sessions, and I have this acute fear that if I write individual ones this session, they’ll grow repetitive and they’ll lose meaning or sincerity. So I’ll try and write a long one for all of you.

Thank you.

Okay, what does “thank you” actually mean? Let’s work backwards here. To “thank” means to “express gratitude”, and “gratitude” means to “show appreciation for and to return kindness”. “Appreciation” is the “recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something”. “Kindness” is “the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate”.

You all have been friendly, generous, and considerate, yes, but you’ve also been so much more than that (and yes, you all possess “good qualities”, but that is too vague for my purposes). You’ve also been teaching me all along, imparting your lessons and your values and your knowledge. You’ve also worked with me through difficult problems and we’ve found solutions together. You’ve also, by being a part of this group, established a sense of community, which is by definition “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals”, meaning you’ve cultivated so many incredible relationships. You’re a part of this place where I feel that I belong (a difficult word to define — but I’ll define it as feeling comfortable, feeling as if I fit in, like a piece in the center of a beautiful puzzle). So, to simply thank you is not enough. I don’t think there is a word in the English language for the sheer gratefulness I feel. “Love” comes close. “Infinite”, perhaps.

So, to all of you, I am infinitely grateful. I love being a part of this community, and I know I will never really be gone, because SWC has left an indelible imprint on me and I hope I’ve left my mark too.

Sincerely,
Birdi <3
