Oh god I have that extension too, it’s so annoying and has aol level filter (I entered something and it got censored just because of a part of it being “bad”, as if they’ve never heard of a whitelist)Lunch is around 25 Minutes. Also just Googled the company that makes the filter, and they also make spywareYeah, that’s privacy invasion. We are allowed to bring our computers to lunch, and they expect us to do our homework there. You are also allowed to do it on your phone, but the teachers will take it away if they see you are on anything other than the homework. (Forgot to mention this but the Web Filter also applies to ANY device on the Wi-Fi Network and the school also tracks and records your device's Webcam [Pretty sure this is illegal]) That's stupid.
You're supposed to be eating too, do they just give you computers during lunch or do they expect you to use a phone to do it?
Also how many minutes is lunch in this case?
Also, they really expect you to finish all your homework in 25 minutes while eating food.

medians: Oh god not this utc - 12 thing again..
Fun_Cupcake_i81: What, were you expecting not to see the utc - 12 thing again? THE UTC - 12 THIGN ALWAYS RETURNS. ALWAYS.
medians: I knew it would happen. I was the one who started it last year.
Fun_Cupcake_i81: Well then if you didn't want it back maybe you need to time travel to last year and fix that
Oh wait if you could time travel I think we all know exactly when you would go-

Also Hapara. Teachers use it to spy on what you are doing. I wish Norton Family has a version for schools (it's actually good and just makes you ask to use mature sites and sees what you do not in a spying way). Also, Norton Family's lock feature could be exploited by schools, but my parents use it to make sure we get enough sleep.Oh god I have that extension too, it’s so annoying and has aol level filter (I entered something and it got censored just because of a part of it being “bad”, as if they’ve never heard of a whitelist)Lunch is around 25 Minutes. My school uses that and it's so annoying. They block anything with “game” in the url and also block anything that they don't know what it is. Kids at my school found an unblocked YouTube called Piped which has hundreds of URLs so everyone knows how to access it if 1 gets blocked.
On Securly, there are many online essays detailing the illegalities of Securly, which include:
Tracking keystrokes (aka seeing what you type. my teacher straight up told us once that nothing we do is private in a warning kind of way.)
Collecting everything you search and visit with the intent to hold it against you
Viewing images and videos saved as well as recording your microphone and camera without you knowing (it might not for everyone tho)
Cannot be surpassed by change in WiFi (ex: I go from school WiFi to home WiFi)
Blocks educational sites
Not telling students about contact signed, AKA No proper or direct consent from the children
There are reports of kids getting their computers confiscated because they took action after finding out it's recording
Apparently Securly lets parents see what we do and at what time. Recently I found that at 7:00 each night my computer won't let me access anything. I asked my parents and they said they had no role in it and didn't even know of it.
Also, some teachers don't like it either. My teacher for my reading class had to trying and find research site that weren't block for my group's research project.

Yeah my school also has a Webcam and File Recorder so they can record you with your Laptop's Camera, and access ALL OF YOUR FILES, PERSONAL E-MAIL ACCOUNTS, your IP ADDRESS, and even PERSONAL INFORMATION (Such as your Phone Number, Social Media Accounts, All of your Text Messages, and much more) without you knowing. Also Hapara. my school doesn't block youtube at allbecause one of them might be under the content “Video games” and the other might be under the content “Music”. For some reason the school blocks all videos by my favorite music YouTube channel, Juno Songs
All they do is add lyrics to video game songs, and there's another channel like that that isn't blocked, why?
personally, here are some of my favorite unblocked channels on my chromebook:
Evan and Katelyn (they build things but in a cool way)
Lukes Goldies (fish keeping channel)
Sandaisy (some videos are blocked though, slime channel)
Some music channels like mxmtoon, cavetown, steve lacy, about any popular song artist.
i'll add more.

that happened to me once. i connected my headphones and that's what i heard. My chromebook has been having this issue where if I move it the wrong way, it just completely stops working, and apparently, the glitches aren't only visual.
I kid you not when I closed the lid, the worst sound I had heard in a while erupted from this thing's speakers, this thing decided to recreate the dang virtual exorcist, it was as if Vinny from Vinesauce possessed my chromebook and activated his passive.
The sound didn't last for long though, as my fingers practically flew over to the power key and the refresh key to force shutdown the tthing once I realized it didn't stop when I closed the lid.
TL;DR: My chromebook made the worst sound I'd heard all year, and i'm actually scared of it now.
Edit: Even though I absolutely hate talking about personal experiences, I'm keeping this up because I find it funny, also, this is basically just a vent post, as I don't expect technical help from anybody about this, as I'm not sure anything can be done really.

Also how many minutes is lunch in this case?
Also, they really expect you to finish all your homework in 25 minutes while eating food.

Top 5 true statements that the world ignoredthey're trying to bring 1984 onto unsuspecting kidsyeah I had to go to Dollar tree to buy tape just so I can't be spyed onThis thread makes me think schools want to be associated with invasive spyware. I think someone mentioned one that could turn your webcam on whenever they wanted? Also Hapara. Teachers use it to spy on what you are doing. I wish Norton Family has a version for schools (it's actually good and just makes you ask to use mature sites and sees what you do not in a spying way). Also, Norton Family's lock feature could be exploited by schools, but my parents use it to make sure we get enough sleep.Oh god I have that extension too, it’s so annoying and has aol level filter (I entered something and it got censored just because of a part of it being “bad”, as if they’ve never heard of a whitelist)Lunch is around 25 Minutes.

It seems today
That all you see
Is violence in movies and * on TV
But where are those good old fashion values
On which we used to rely!
Lucky, there's a Family Guy!
Lucky there's a man who,
positively can do,
All the things that make us
Laugh and cry!
He's a Family Guy!
