How long does it take scratch to get back to a ban appeal?

Hi there. So basically, I got permanently banned on an account around 1 and a half years ago. I sent an appeal the day I got blocked, and they never got back to me. I sent another appeal around 2 weeks ago, hoping that they’d get back to me. How long does it usually take them to get back to an appeal?
Thanks!

How long does it take scratch to get back to a ban appeal?

During the height of the COVID lockdown, we had a severe high influx of incoming users using the Scratch website.

Which in turn led to a much higher amount of users misusing the Scratch website (largely because a good chunk of these users joined solely to talk to their friends, or because they were using school-issued devices that blocked social media sites and were looking for an alternative, and thus they had absolutely no interest in creative programming, but that's another story for another time).

Which in turn led to a much higher amount of users getting blocked.

I mention this because the appeal ticket queue is under a severe backlog and in some cases it's taken months (or sometimes longer!) to send out a reply. That said, there are a few scenarios where you may never get a reply:
- If the account was permblocked as you mentioned, it might not have been eligible for an appeal in the first place.
- If the initial appeal was disrespectful, it gets skipped over.
- If you never received the robot reply that confirms delivery of the appeal ticket, then it could also be possible that you did get a reply but that your e-mail client has been sending messages coming from the @scratch.mit.edu domain into the spambox.

You can opt to send in an another appeal from a different address and wait a few months to see if you get a reply (though, if its for an account that is ineligible to be unblocked, you'll have to be prepared for the scenario that the response could be a reject message).
