I use a underpowerd school laptop with software installed that apparently “Searches” scratch for innapropriate stuff. (That makes it lag alot) is there a setting to lower the quality of scratch? It lags for everything, Not just advanced games with lots of code. It lags if you put the code below. It lags if you have no code but there is no way to show it. Is there a way to fix it?

No, if your chromebook is controlled by your school - they will most likely not let you remove it, so there is no way to fix it. Is the Software called GoGuardian?

This sounds like just a good old case of GoGuardian's incredibly inefficient way to spy on you without your permission. (Because it's an extension, it runs in JS. In JS you can choose to not let a program see your screen data. Because you can choose this, I think GoGuardian instead redraws your entire website, except using a slow rendering method combined with an already pretty slow language. Because Scratch has a lot of HTML to take in, GoGuardian freezes your webpage to get these essentially screenshots.)

There is an alternative way that you can view scratch on your chromebook. (VirtualFox). But considering your school is spying it might not be a good idea and might get you in trouble.

Thank you! I didn't really understand how GoGaurdian worked until now. Can GoGaurdian open my webcam, I heard about instances where it is possible for schools to open my webcam. If it can that makes me extremely Uncomfortable.

i dont wanna remove it i just dont like when it crashes scratch

Your in School so you must ask permission to your school authority in case it is permitted to open scratch in the class.
Otherwise the problem cannot be fixed.

Try running Linux from a flash drive or tell your school you won't use the laptop unless they remove GoGuardian.

they will do nothing if you tell them you won't use the laptop, and running another OS on the computer violates most tech policies
