A Way to Clean Up the Forum Front Pages

(I don’t believe this is a dupe, at least, I couldn’t find one.)
So, when someone necroposts, its brought up to the top, and is left in that position. However, what if, when a post is made on a topic more than a month after the last post, the page it was on is remembered by the server, and than the ST has the ability to reposition it in that position after closing the topic. This could help clean up necroposts, and the front page in general, as when reported, the post would likely be returned soon enough where it doesn’t get a very different position. Of course, suggestions would be an exception.
Pros:
Helps make the front pages as clean as possible.
Allows for less closed topics on the front page.
Cons:
More programming for the devs.

Ah, yes. I like this idea very well, and I do find it annoying to see someone necropost a lot.

1 month? What if someone has to bump it and the AI thinks it's a necropost?

It’ll just mark the page it used to be on. If reported for a necropost, a ST member can press a button to send it back to that page. An AI wouldn’t be involved beyond detecting the age of the last post.

Support. This is useful cuz sometimes I accidentally necropost because someone necroposted a topic before me and then I thought that the topic was fresh.

Bump-
Nah. That’s boring.
Left eye becomes blue
This topic’s gonna have a bad time
Tosses topic around with magic til it hits the front page
(Basically a bump)

support, although it would be harder to tell people that dont know what necroposting is (people that did it on accident ig), what necroposting is.

Why? It just seems kind of pointless. Topics will naturally drift toward the bottom anyway, and it's not like they take up obscene amounts of space. Even if necroposting was truly terrible and rampant on the forums – which it's not, it's only mildly annoying – this just seems like a band-aid solution. Instead of actually trying to stop necroposting at its root cause by closing topics that are old automatically, it just hides the results and still means that the forum moderators do the exact same amount of work, and they'll still be visible until a moderator closes it.

Or you could just not do that, since telling people off for breaking a rule they didn't know existed for a part of the site they don't care about accomplishes about as much as you would expect.

Support for most aspects. It's VERY annoying to see New Scratchers with grammar about as good as the kid who sat next to me in kindergarten just spamming threads with the last post being in 2015, and it's hard to find genuine questions from people who are genuinely confused. This sounds pointless at first, but take a look at the QaS front page and my point will be proved. I'm thinking that the ST should be sent a message when a forum with its previous post over 1 or 2 months ago has been posted on. I do think TiMaC and TiRaP should have this rule nullified, though, because necropost culture isn't a big thing over there.

semi-support. what if after a topic is necroposted and closed, one person wants to report it to be reopened? they'll have to find the topic again.

If it was in QaS, HwS, etc: It shouldn't be reopened except by owners request
Suggestions, IooS, etc: Search history or Ocular

So if it's in suggestions, does it have to like be a suggestion for this to apply? Someone necroposted on the oldest available topic in suggestions recently, and it was a bug fix announcement. And that would be kind of useful for it not to apply if it is a beta 2.0 topic.

Due to the fact those are arguably 2.0 history, I’d say they do apply, and thats the reason i bumped this.

Yeah good idea then. It's not the oldest available topic here though because there were other forums that got topics first (this also might help with alpha LOL). Plus it wasn't even a suggestion in the first place (the feedback forum had id 1 too), so… like..
