Cabins:
Cabins are an amazing part of SWC. At the start of each session, you will be sorted into one of them. The number of cabins has varied over the years, but for right now there are 15 of them. Each cabin has a special name, dedicated to a genre of writing. Again, these cabin names have varied, but currently they are: Dystopian, Bi-Fi, Non-Fi, Sci-Fi, Horror, Mystery, Real-Fi, Adventure, Poetry, Folklore, Script, Fantasy, Thriller, Hi-Fi, and Fan-Fi. The cabin names mean literally nothing, but they’re fun to have! You and your cabin mates, plus your (co)leader(s) will be on the same team as you compete with other cabins for the most points at the end of the session. You usually focus on bonding with those people in your cabin and to get to know them more! All cabins have a theme that varies and is unique to every single cabin, in that theme, there will always be a storyline which you will be able to interact with and complete! Cabins usually are the high point of SWC and they are an important aspect to enjoying SWC. Each cabin will have one leader, and 2-3 co-leaders. The leader is the main person in charge, but the co-leaders help a lot by contributing everything they have in their cabin. The cabin may have cool activities, like earning matching pfps, which is a fun way to display pride, matching banners, and more!!! Each cabin is very different from other cabins, and that's what makes them so cool!

Desk Lamp Smoothie 11/3/2022
Have you ever wished for a blinding smoothie? One that will outshine all the others? Well look no further! Introducing the Desk Lamp smoothie. It glows in the dark, in the light, and it can be also used as a Lamp, so you have a drink and light combined in one smoothie, making it taste like the stars! The light is very adjustable and flexible, it can change from dim light to reading light, and there are controls for how bright you want the light to be. This also affects the taste of your deee-licious smoothie, and so you can have several different flavors packed in one cup! The smoothie is mostly made of plastic, but who cares about environmental health? This plastic is very durable, so the smoothie will not be able to spill and make a great mess, or turn up in your throwup! That’s not even the best thing in the Desk Lamp smoothie!!! It comes in different colors, so you can choose which one fits you better, and the smoothie magically regenerates every time you go to the bathroom! The smoothie will need to be charged, but when it does, it throws sparks in the air, a miniature firework show! You don’t even need to pay any money! The smoothie can change into any size, varying from miniature to ginormous, and it can also turn invisible, if you need some power juice during class! If this hasn’t gotten you convinced, here are some AMAZING REVIEWS FROM GREAT CUSTOMERS!!!
This smoothie definitely blinded me.
-The old lady from down the street
I liked the firework show, but I think I got burned.
Marc Mangoson

SWC Weekly No.1 11/4/'22
NOTE THESE LETTERS ARE ENTIRELY BASED ON CABIN RELATIONSHIPS AND A FEW OTHER RANDOM STUFFS, BUT A LOT OF TIMES THERE WERE INACCURACY'S TO SIBLINGS, NEUTRALS, AND ENEMIES BC EACH CABIN FOR THEIR RELATIONSHIPS SOMETIMES SAID SOMETHING DIFFERENT. ALSO, IF YOU ARE AN ENEMY TO DYSTOPIAN, THEN PREPARE FOR SOME SLANDER THAT PLSPLSPLS DON'T TAKE SERIOUSLY. OK, THAT'S IT YOU CAN START READING.
Dearest Fantasy,
Your realm sounds so much like ours, so peaceful and calm, but one thing that separates us from you is the fact that we’re more based on magic, which makes us more superior than you, as you rely on machines, but the work you’ve done in the sanctuary is a wonderful work of art, we’d love to have some tips on making our realm so much more aesthetic. We definitely love you so much, but I do see a rivalry coming our way, as we’re in second, and you’re in first, but that will change soon, so watch out.
Sent with love,
Dystopian
To the corporate headquarters of the Naan-Fi Breadhouse,
Bread is such an important, staple food for the world, we’d love to have you deliver some to the Dystopian Realm if the Breadhouse covers UberEats. I know that we’re neutrals, but you give me the feeling of a friendly neutral, so how would you like that? We also have some spells for you to use for your bread to rise and bake faster, as long as you share some of all that deliciousness. If you still have openings for the Breadhouse, we’d love to help out if it’s alright with everyone else.
Sincerely,
Dystopian
If you even read this Adventure,
I know we’re enemies and all that, but I’d like to compliment you on the absolute geniusness of your pfps, though ours is so much more supreme, duh! The thing is, you do have Lukatie on your side, so is there any chance we could ‘borrow’ then for some Realm things? If not, well we understand that they’re valuable people, and you wouldn’t dream of giving them up. Congrats on being first for almost a month, but that’s just alphabetical order nonsense.
Eagerly waiting for Lukatie,
Dystopian
Our dearest sibling Fan-fi,
I absolutely love what you’ve done with your realm!!! I mean traveling in time? Even though we haven't mastered that, you managed to pull the aesthetic off perfectly! I love the animated thumbnail, and so many realms should learn from your example. What’s to say, if we don’t get first place, I hope you or Thriller gets first, as you both deserve it. I’d love some feedback from our ethereal-like realm that I know Gabbie, Dawn, and Lisa worked very hard on, and I think I came out pretty well. You should absolutely get in touch with Hopsen and the gang (EVEN THOUGH WE ABSOLUTELY HATE THEM WE’RE JUST GOING TO ACT LIKE GOOD SIBLINGS)
Sent with love,
Dystopian
Thriller,
First of all, listen to the song. Second of all, I think I can drop the charade of being “loving siblings” as this letter is addressed to you, and only you, so it shouldn’t fall into the wrong hands. I’ll be the proud sibling for a moment, and say that we absolutely loved your trailer, but that’s all the good things that will be written down. As of now, we’re in second, and you guys are in fifth, count on not catching up to us, especially because me writing this means I have finished part of my weekly, which will give us a lot of points, and you guys will be stuck in some boring place that no one cares about (JK WE LOVE U THRILLER)
Keep in mind,
Dystopian
… Into Folklore…
Our beautiful, beautiful ally, Folklore, you are a perfect combination of Fairy Tales and Myth, the two best cabins, obviously excluding Dystopian, I know you are a first timer, but with the power of those two cabins, you’ll be up on the leaderboard in no time. I know you guys are crazy Taylor Swift fanatics, and her new album, Midnight, sooo fits the Dystopian Realm theme. You guys have some amazing (co)leader(s) so I know everyone in your realm will have a great time and never want to leave, but they must, after a month, we must all leave, sadness overtakes me.
The One,
Dystopian
To Whom It May Concern in Bi-fi,
Hahaha, you won’t catch up to us, so stop even trying! We’ve got magic on our side, Fantasy and I will rule supreme over you weaklings. Though I must say I do love your storyline, the realm being a movie cinema gives me the willies. I mean, no fresh air? You’ll be wearing glasses once this session is over! We, on the other hand, will be getting a lot of fresh air, and we’ll have lots of fun with NO TV/ELECTRONICS WHICH BURN YOUR BRAIN INTO PIECES (jk) Again, you and the ‘spicy mango quartet’ such a premature name, tsk tsk, will fail to beat the Fantasy, Dystopian, and Thriller siblings.
Respectfully,
Dystopian
HI FI!!
Oh, a train robbery, if you need any help, we’ve got you guys!!! Especially if you’re robbing poe-a-tree, then you have our full support, this is the alliance we need, I’m so glad that we’re friendly neutrals. By the way, we noticed that you have a cabin playlist, you wouldn’t mind making one for Dystopian? I’m sure we’ll find a way to pay you back, maybe giving away a few of our points? We also really need a sibling hangout, do you have any good screenshots for it? If you want us to be original, suuuureee just give us some pointers! We’ve got cool thumbs and storyline, we just need some humor.
Waiting for your help,
Dystopian
Foe suckz
Uhhuh, getting children to GO AGAINST EACH OTHER WHEN THEY’RE IN THE SAME CABIN? Great thinking Poe-a-tree!!! That was sarcasm by the way, if you don’t get it, as I’m pretty sure you don’t even know what sarcasm is. Well… you do have Finn, Viara, and Badowie, who are legendary people, but you’re our enemy, so we can’t be friends! But WOW your cabin is very competitive, even the storyline itself is about competing, so we guess we’ll take you seriously in cabin wars and show no mercy to you. Unless you convince Horror to not steal our candy, but Real-Fi’s got a better chance.
Waiting for your response,
Dystopian
Dear Horror,
WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT STEALING OUR CANDY??? Your cabin is one of the cruelest ones, but we will prove to STEAL ALL YOUR CANDY before you steal ours. Aside from that, your storyline is very horror-y and suspenseful, in fact, if we weren’t enemies, we’d love to play a part in your storyline or even be a camper, but sadly, THAT’S NEVER HAPPENING and you can forget the possibility of ever being allies. Also, if you see anything that happens to look like glowing beautiful stars, please mail them to us. We've enclosed a stamp that is especially made for interdimensional travel.
Sent with Uncertainty,
Dystopian
Really Fi?
Seriously, really Fi? You dare call us disco pain! We are not a pain! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT? HUH? HUH? Well, I’m glad we’re a pain, so it makes you guys harder to write, and while we write more, you are tortured by us and our ‘painess’ whatever that means. Though your thumb looks amazing, but your slander! You insulted every single person that was your enemy, do you have no decency? We didn’t even say rude things to our enemies, including YOU! You should be ashamed of yourselves, and I hope you don’t make it to the top 5 at the end of the session.
Angrily,
Dystopian
Scwipt,
Again, with the discopain? You and real-fi have so much in common, and your ENEMIES. I guess you just don’t know how alike you are. But Hamilton rules and we know that it’s the supreme musical, we do like your pfps, BUT that’s it. We were thinking of having a music playlist or a musical song, and you know a lot about randomly bursting into song, so if we promise to be allies, would you accept us as your students? We would also love some tips on how to write a great description for the cabin, as we obviously don’t need any help, but we’d just like to know.
Sincerely,
Dystopian
Dear Sci-Fi,
Our wonderful, esteemed ally, a simulation sounds so high-tech! We don’t really know much about technology, so we’d love it if you could explain some of it to us. We just love your symbols in the cabin desc and the animated thumb, it seems like you guys are talented at just about anything you want to do! You are definitely top 5 material, hope to see you there! Who knew that pfps could go to such a level! You guys are simply wonderful, we hope to talk to you more this session! Sadly, right now you are just below the top ten, but we know you guys can make it!!!
Love,
Dystopian

What a coincidence that you and Hi-fi are matching train buddies! We have written this letter to ask you if your train could cover inter-dimensional travel just for us <3 As written in our letter to Naan-Fi, we only have UberEats, and their service, let’s just say… isn’t the best. I know you guys have the best conductors in the whole galaxy, and you guys aren’t robbers, so we have no risk of getting arrested (Sorry Hi-Fi, you are still amazing!) You also have roles, something that we don’t have, but that’s what makes a cabin unique, and your cabin stands out from the rest a LOT, in a very good way.
Waiting for your train,
Dystopian

Dear Teddy,
I miss you so much!!! Could you come back and keep me safe instead of battling other pirates and stealing other people’s money? There are better ways of becoming rich than converting to crime! But there’s one thing before I try to convince you using everything I have, why did you leave me and your wonderful home for a ship, the sea, and scurvy? Do you think that they are much better than me? What happened, what was I doing wrong? Aside from that, please come home, I’ll buy you three presents each under the cost of 10 dollars. Just when you come home, I miss sleeping with you! I will also pay much more attention to you than I did before, I’ll bring you everywhere I can, and if they don’t allow it, I’ll sneak you in and play with you when I’m bored. When I have nothing to do, or even if I do, I’ll set you next to me and we’ll have chats about anything you want, and do fun stuff together! If you still don’t want to come home, then I’m so sorry Teddy, but I’ll have to replace you with a one hundred dollar squishmallow. I didn’t want to replace you, especially with my little sister’s old forgotten squishmallow, but if you don’t come home, there’s nothing I can do, and I NEED a sleeping buddy, so I’ll have to resort to last measures. The ground is so much better than the water, you won’t get seasick at all, you’ll be with me and your friends that you left who are still heartbroken when you left a day ago, the food is better, and you won’t get sick with weird diseases that will kill you. Asking you to come back isn’t just for me and other people, it’s for you, I don’t want you to die or get terribly sick, so please please come home so we can finally reunite.
Love,
Em

“I’ll miss you, you know that?” Tears dripped from Dahlia’s hazel eyes. “I want you to know that I tried everything to convince my parents to stay, but they just won’t budge, but they refuse to stay here,”
Who wouldn’t want to leave? No one had enough money to leave, until Dahlia’s father got accepted for the job of a lifetime, one that would pay good money, who would turn down that chance just for their daughter’s happiness. It wasn’t like Dahlia was going to be friendless forever, she would just forget me slowly as the days went by, and have better, fancier friends to play with. “I know it’s going to be hard to remember me, but please try to, I don’t want our years of friendship to be in vain,” I pleaded to Dahlia.
Dahlia wiped the tears from her face. “Of course, I’ll try my hardest to remember you and our friendship, I’ll remind myself of you every single day, and maybe someday we’ll meet again,”
But everything would be different. She would be some fancy woman, and I would still be the farmer’s daughter. We wouldn’t fit. She might even get that snobby accent that those rich families have when they speak to commoners like me. “Dahlia, I want you to do something for me,”
“Yes, whatever you need!”
“Could you spend one more day with me, just having fun and not ever worrying about what will come the next day? Just like those times when we were six and so oblivious about life?”
“Of course! You know that I’m stuck between staying with you and being forced to go by my parents. You just make me want to stay in this dump, no matter how disgusting or terrible conditions are, you just brighten the whole day if you talk to me even once! I don’t know how I’ll fit in in that fancy town,” Dahlia replied earnestly, looking straight into my ice blue eyes.
She would. Dahlia was always so much prettier than me, everyone stopped to stare at her if she passed by, and her family was even considered one of the richest in the peasant section. “Well, what do you want to do?”
“Well…” She tapped her chin thoughtfully. “Maybe-”
“Dahlia!!! It’s time to go! We’ve got everything packed up and we’re going in the carriage! There’s no time to waste, your father needs this job!” Dahlia’s mother called from the royal carriage parked near their house.
“One more second mother!” Dahlia answered. “Well then, I guess that’s it, we can’t have our perfect ending. But still, remember that I’ll always miss you, and that I’ll try to visit you when I can, if I can.” Tears blossomed from her eyes again as she held me in a tight embrace.
“Don’t ever look back Dahlia, don’t look back at me, it will ruin the perfect life that your parents built just for you, you’ll have so many more friends that will be so much more amazing and cooler than me, you won’t need me,” I said hoarsely. “But I’ll need you, so goodbye Dahlia, I hope our paths cross once more again,”
Now Dahlia’s mother had come to drag Dahlia away. She grabbed her arm and they walked into the horizon, leaving all our precious memories to fade into the dark.
Dahlia looked back once more, face full of melancholy and regret, and mouthed “See you soon,”
We were sixteen when she left, and I never saw her again.

What It Can Do To You.
The excitement of waiting for the results, thinking that it would be me. Being ignorant was a big mistake, one that I would pay the full price for. It would change me. The day it came out, all the fake confidence I had shattered away, an illusion that stayed for too long. When the line came to me, they had nothing to give away, except for a lesson that I still hold dear to my heart.
The Brevity of Life
It passed before my eyes, one minute I was standing there, hand in hand with everyone. Then, slowly, everything changed, plants withering to dust, people sinking into ashes, leaving nothing until only I was there.
Walking through the town, the houses seemed to reach up at me, begging for a taste of life, something that they’d lost a long time. How strange for something beautiful and important to quickly be gone, in a blink of an eye, the impact that people worked to make meant simply nothing to nature.
A strangled gasp came from my throat as I saw a dark gray vine reaching for my arm, trying to get me in its grasp to finally taste the life in me. Suddenly, it crumbled into sand, leaving me standing there, with ashes on my arm.
Maybe I’m Not So Bad After All
I helped. I shared. I enjoyed. I respected. Maybe I’m not so bad after all.

Weekly Part 1 11/8/22-11/10/22 with @Ataraxea
Em Interviewing Aurelia
{Em}: If you don't mind, I'll start firing off questions. {pauses} I'll also be writing in transcript mode to make it easier later. Please tell me if it's not what I'm supposed to do as the instructions were a little bit confusing to me. {takes a deep breath} Sooo. What is your opinion on who's going to win the top three places in SWC. Do you believe that Dystopian will stay in first? How many times have you participated in SWC and which session was your personal favorite? Do you read KOTLC and who do you ship? {sighs in relief after saying everything}
{Aurelia}: {Laughs awkwardly} That’s a lot of questions. {Wrings hands} So, I believe Dystopian will stay first, they’ve been first consistently, and it’s likely they’ll end up first. I’ve participated in SWC one other time. It was in March 2021 and I was a Fantasy camper. {Pauses} I remember that Mystery had a strong lead throughout the whole session, and it was not surprising they won. Yeah, I guess the cabin that’s dominating will stay where they are, as for the other two places, it’s anybody’s game! {Nervous laugh} I’m all over the place… I can’t really say I have a favorite session when I’ve only been in one other one, but it was really fun. We got to roleplay, and even though we placed eleventh, I had a lot of fun! KOTLC? Yes, I’ve read it! I actually read the whole series, but I found that it became boring very fast. I didn’t really like it, so I don’t ship anyone. {Pauses} Actually, I don’t actually ship anybody…
{Em}: Well, I'm pretty sure you're right with the Dystopian staying in first place. {laughs lightly} Last session Myth was in first place for the whole month, so I'm expecting a repeat of that, but it would be interesting to see cabins getting a little bit more competitive during cabin wars. {Thinks about answer to the next comment} I've also been in one session only, the July 2022. I was more focused on doing dailies and weeklies then having fun with my fellow cabinmates, so this session I've decided to be a little more social and to make more friends. {pauses} Y'know what, that's actually really true. The only reason why I've started to reread KOTLC is because there's a new book coming out, and if there's one thing that Shannon Messenger does right, it's giving you cliffhangers, so it makes you BEG for the next book. I do feel like the plot is a bit repetitive and not too in depth, unlike some other books. I also feel like Sophie sometimes isn't the best character in the book. {Looks back at Aurelia}
{Aurelia}: {Eyes widen} A new book! How come I always miss out on these things… {Shakes head in dismay} Anyways, I feel like her books are just drawing out everything and it’s really boring, even with all the cliffhangers. Hmm… {Deep in thought} Yeah, Sophie was definitely not the best character, but all heroes and villains are flawed! {Pauses} I actually thought that the series was a bit immature for me. I mean, it’s kind of a middle school book. {Pauses} Well, I was in middle school when I read it, but I was already reading more ina- {coughs lightly} mature books.

Aurelia Interviewing Em
{Aurelia}: On that note, I’d like to ask you some questions in return! So, what are some of you’re favorite books? Series? Characters? Why? {Laughs lightly} Yes, I like to know why. What are your thoughts on pineapple pizza? Are you looking to apply as a (co)leader for SWC’s next session? Uh… Hmm… {Looks lost for a moment} Oh! And what’s a hobby of yours?
{Em} Wow… {thinks for a minute} It's hard to say who my favorite author is, as it changes, or I forget some amazing series of books because I haven't read them in a while but for now, I would say that my favorite book {for now…} is Posted, by John David Anderson. It really isn't one of those mature books, but it has those big impacts on you, the ones that really talk about topics that are true or important in your life. This book doesn't have a happy ending, but that's really the truth in reality. I also really like Where The Crawdads Sing, it was just a wonderful book overall! {laughs gently} surprisingly, my favorite authors usually never write my favorite books, and the authors of my favorite books usually write one good book and then the rest are mediocre. Some of my favorite authors are Jack Gantos, I really enjoy some of his books, mostly the ones for older readers, Gordan Korman, he is the master of amazing plots and turning regular days into amazing stories, and Terri Libenson, who tells great tales with art. These are only some of my favorite authors and books {does a little chuckle} as I have a lot {emphasizes a lot} of favorite books and authors. My thoughts on pineapple pizza? {scrunches up face} it's fine when I eat it, but the thought of it on pizza just doesn't match the nature of food. Yep!!! I definitely applying for leader, if I even can! I've already got a whole theme and storyline for the project and it's going to be super elaborate so that I have a more secure chance of getting in then this session, as I slacked off a bit and was too overconfident that my answers were going to matter more than the theme and stuff like that. A hobby of mine is READING!!! I love reading {sighs dreamily} it's been my favorite thing to do for a long time, I just enjoy going to another world and learning about other people and adventures, you can take a break from the world and just relax!
{Aurelia}: Oh, uh, wow, that was very long. {Laughs lightheartedly} I do like books that happen to have more mature content but impactful books are always a yes for me. {Pauses for a second} Actually, I think I'll read that book next! I'm not reading anything at the moment, so that seems like a really good book. I have a lot of favorite books/authors/series too! Whenever someone asks me, I'll give one off the top of my head, but if I get time, I'll say “oh wait, I like this book and that book” and the same thing goes with authors. {Pauses, thinking} Well, not as much, since I like authors for their styles, so it's the opposite for me! If I like the book, I usually like the author. I've never really met someone who liked pineapple on pizza, don't get me wrong, it's delicious, but I often hear people say that those two things shouldn't mix. Good luck with your application if you do plan to apply! I think you'll make an amazing leader. I definitely agree with the adventure part of reading, but I view it slightly differently… {Trails off, solemn face} Well, it was great interviewing you today and it was fun answering your questions, I'll see you around!

Dear Future Self,
I hope that you become more confident in speaking up for yourself and sharing your ideas than just letting everyone do what they do and never change things. I hope you get into honors and you’re able to balance both Scratch Camps and your real-life studies to someday mix them both into a beautiful blend of colors. When you are reading this, I expect to see you as a leader in SWC, making more friends, and improving your writing, especially personal narrative as that is the hardest for you. Along with that, I hope to see that your pieces in writing get better throughout the years and you learn more about grammar and how good it is. I want to see you continue your hobbies from your childhood, like being active on scratch and participating in scratch camps, as they really don’t have an age limit, even if you’re 99 and you haven’t participated in years, go participate! I would add on more things, but that would be enclosing my private information, and I don’t want to do that, but I hope this triggers a memory, something from a long time ago, remember what it is and do it! If there is anything bad in the future, like global warming reaches the scale that everyone needs to pay attention to, be the one who changes it, as I know and hope you still want or are a scientist, and that’s what scientists do, impact the world in a good way. If you never get a pet in your whole lifetime, I will never forgive you, I missed the chance as a child, and you can’t miss it now. Finally, don’t forget how important friends and family is, and use your independence wisely.
Sincerely,
Your Past Self, Em

Words474 words in total
Seemingly unmeaningful
But
Can destroy cities
With just one
Whisper
Would it be better if
There were no words?
They’re stronger than
Weapons
Truly I think
Words wil be the end
Of us
Not bombs
Not animals
Not nuclear energy
It’ll be words
There are many different words
Different languages,
But one thing is the same,
All types of words can be used for bad
Different languages means that
You might
Not understand in insult in words
But it’s still there
The hatred,
The embarrassment
The pure evil that someone must
Have to abuse words, whip them
Into monsters, to do their one bidding
Feed them nothing
They do not care for them
Just like slaves, words have been
Tamed, into something terrible,
Something that only benefits the powerful,
And weakens the shy
Some people have never used these
Words
And that’s good
You have not been tainted with the touch
Of monsters
Words should not be a curse,
They should be a prayer,
To help
I’ve seen people crumble
Like dust
Just because of one insult
It may seem like a sound
But because of us
It’s turned into a monster
Used to be harmless and innocent
But because of us
It’s turned into something
That
Is merciless and evil
People use this
To their advantage
It’s happened to me
My friends
People I care about
I’ve done this before
I regret it
But I am always in
Awe
Of what words could do
The people that
Like to use them
For bad
Are just weaklings that have
Nothing else to do
Taking advantage of
Sweet beautiful
Words
Words
Aren’t
Bad
We’ve just shaped them into
That
But
they can be
used for good
For love
To comfort
Instead of hurt
To use to
shape
The world
Into a better
Place
We can make people happy,
Brighten their day
With just one “Hi!”
That’s all it takes
To make someone’s day
To treat words right
To show their true meaning
It isn’t evil
It’s a diamond
Surface covered by rocks and mud
If we just clean it,
It can shine for the whole world to see
It will grow brighter and brighter
Until everyone basks in it’s light
Everyone just being happy
Just think about it
We have no limits in words
If we just try
To defy
What we have
Now
A jumble of attacks and pain
We could change
We can
Use them
To make people
Happy
Instead of sad
We can shape them
Instead of crumble
Them
Back into the ash
So what do you say?
Will words become
Better?
Will we change them?
Or will they stay in
The dark
Lurking for the worst
Of us
Until everything
Fades
Away
Into the
Nothingness
Where shadows lurk
And monsters
Prowl
We’re too good
For this
We can change words

Weekly part 2
Iris's (@Eeveedonut's) Part
I have a problem. But first you must know what cabin wars are. What are cabin wars, you ask? Well, two saturdays during Scratch Writing Camp is when cabin wars are held. Cabins can war each other and then are tasked to complete those wars in a certain time frame, whether that be nine hours or five. It's a challenge, and it's fun, sure, but it's stressful. It's very competitive, too. Cabins stabbing their allies in the back. So much drama. So much fun! Cabins get warred and it's just delightful to watch the drama and panic go down, whether or not you're part of that cabin. I mean, if you are part of that cabin, there isn't really time to watch it, haha! Because you're working to complete the war
So what's my problem, you may ask? I don't know whether or not to love or hate cabin wars. Part of me says love, but the other part says hate. I love them, I really do. They're a fun, competitive way to get words and grow your skill as a writer, yet the other part of me says to hate them. They're stressful, and they take time away from my life. Time that could be spent working on homework, which, then again, would get me words, but still! And what if I'm the only active person in my cabin during cabin wars!? Then what? I just… write 5000 words on my own, just like that? No pressure, nothing? I don't have a high Words Per Minute Speed, hello! And what if I'm busy during cabin wars? I feel guilty if I am… so why don't I hate cabin wars? There's just too much to love about them! But yet too much to hate about them to love them! What am I to do, I just don't know.
My Part
I've been asking people what their opinion is on cabin wars, and I've been getting a lot of answers on how it really affects your sleep schedule. For example, @fluffyjujunicorn said “Cabin wars can be lots of fun, but also extremely stressful if there's only a few people online in your cabin, or a war is getting close to ending and you haven't finished yet. Also, going to sleep during cabin wars is scary because you miss nine hours of wars and you have no idea what's going to happen,” and similarly @Rey_venclaw added “In the past, I’ve made pretty poor decisions regarding my sleep and cabin wars, which is something many SWC-ers do,” this makes cabin wars seem like it isn't good for your health. But on the other hand, @Starthorn says “I really like cabin wars, just because I get to write about whatever I want- and a ton of it!” which is true, cabin wars give you the motivation to write which is important. @-WildClan- shows the the amazing and not so great things in cabin wars in this quote “ I remember my first session of SWC (fan-fi March 2022), we had a whole spy ring set up, constantly monitoring when other cabins' shields would drop. xDD Other cabins choose to play more defensively, not warring others so much, but racking up a ton of words for themselves. Of course, losing sleep and feeling the need to be online at all times because you don't want a miss a war isn't the greatest,” which really got me thinking. I also set up a poll which 81 SWC people participated, and the majority of people, which was 32 voted for “I likey” and only one person voted for “I hate it”, which proves that cabin wars is pretty popular with SWCers.
After all this research and thinking, I still don't know if cabin wars are good or bad, but I think I've come to the conclusion that cabin wars have their good and bad qualities, as nothing can be perfect. It's true that there can be a lot of changes that cabin wars need, but I'm sure that it can be fixed as long as someone notices them. So that's why I've compiled a forum link showing all the feedback that I've gotten about cabin wars so that the (co)hosts could maybe read them and see if there is anything that they will be able to change: READ I may be unsure about cabin wars, but I know that someday I'll be able to decide my opinion on them.

What I imagined happened during deciding new cabins. (Not all of this is entirely true, just my imagination)
Setting: 15 cabins gathered together in the SusWC meeting room
Non-Fi: I’m here for the news, so what is it?
Thriller: Harry’s getting upset, so let’s get this over with.
Script: We’ve been thinking about changing two cabins, just for some change.
Myth: Who’s we?
Sci-Fi: I’ve finished our security setup, we should be fine now.
The whole place changes into a different mood
Poetry: Ok, so who shall we vote out? *rubs hands together evily
Fanfiction: I VOTE FOR MYTH
Myth: What? NO!!! It’s just because we’ve been in first place for the whole session, you can’t just get revenge on us.
All the lower placing cabins grumble
Dystopian (Thought of a way to kick Myth out): Hey… Fairytales and Myths are really similar, they’re subgenres of something bigger, I just can’t remember what.
Real-Fi: Oh yeah, I think it was something related to Swifties.
Mystery slaps Real-Fi
Mystery: No, it was her album, folklore.
Sci-Fi: Let me search it up.
Fantasy: Just because you’re so techy doesn’t mean that you’re the only one who knows their way around technology.
Horror: I got it! Folklore is a body of popular myth and beliefs relating to a particular place, activity, or group of people.
Adventure: That literally has Myth in the name! Secretly happy that Myth is going, upset about getting 4th
Fairytales: True, true, but why would you guys want us to go? We’ve been a mediocre placing cabin with an amazing storyline and backstory. BIRDI even lead us once.
Non-Fi sighs dramatically
Non-Fi: But you’re old, and old things got to go, plus let’s have some fun.
Myth and Fairytales: But-
Myth and Fairytales has been ejected.
Dystopian: Now, who should be our next two cabins?
Script: Well, first of all, Folklore!
Folklore has been chosen.
Real-Fi: But who else?
Horror: I’ve been really into this genre called Bi-Fi.
Fantasy: Of course you are, you guys are pretty bizarre.
Horror getting impatient.
Horror: But you guys!!! I think this is a pretty good candidate for the last cabin!
Fanfic: They do have a pretty good argument, let’s give Bi-Fi a chance.
Folklore: What am I doing here? Did I get chosen? OMIGOD I’M THE CHOSEN ONE!!
Mystery sighs.
Thriller: Well, let’s just get on with it, I’ve got to feed Harry some mangos otherwise he’ll be going crazy.
Bi-Fi has been chosen.
Bi-Fi emerges, wearing a jester hat.
Bi-Fi: What have I missed?

Everlasting
Meaning: Attachment
Solo:
Wish you were with me when I walked through the door.
Said you’d be there but I guess
You were to busy
To be with me
You seem ha-appy
When I see you there
Maybe I’m just not yours
Chorus:
I still hope that you’ll stick with me
I still hope that you feel the same
But it seems like
You’ve moved on
But I’m still everlasting
Still here
Waiting for you to come home
Solo:
It’s been a long time
But I still believe
That you might be
The one that’s supposed to be
Next to me
Maybe it’s just my brain
Trying to make a sense
Of it all
But I don’t think so
Chorus:
I still hope that you’ll stick with me
I still hope that you feel the same
But it seems like
You’ve moved on
But I’m still everlasting
Still here
Bridge:
All the laughter we’ve shared
All the tears we’ve pooled
All the memories gone
You left it in a
Heartbeat
But I’m still here
Everlasting
Solo:
Maybe I’ll learn to forget
Maybe I’ll live to remember
But one things for sure
I’m Everlasting everlasting
I know you know
I’m here,
Waiting for you-oo-oo
But today, I stand
Alone, and proud,
I won’t need you anymore
Ore-ore-ore-ore
Chorus:
I still hope that you’ll stick with me
I still hope that you feel the same
But it seems like
You’ve moved on
But I’m still everlasting
Still here
Solo:
I’ll be leaving,
For a better day
For a better life
For a better living
For a better day
You won’t find me again
‘Cause Everlasting is neverlasting.

Some people might not have a skincare routine, maybe it’s a bit complicated for them, or maybe they just feel like there’s no need to do such a thing. But as we get older, all kinds of people need to take care of their skin.
First of all, just being clean gives people a positive mood which is good for your day, you also become more comfortable with your looks and yourself. Lots of research shows that it can help with fatigue, depression, stress, anxiety, and a lot of other not-so-good things you might have. When I look into the mirror and I look pretty messy, I immediately think of cleaning myself, it’s a natural instinct to do so.
Being clean doesn’t just help you, it also changes what people think of you. Of course the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” is true, but so is “First impressions are lasting impressions”, think about it. When you look at a person, do you judge them by their looks at first glance? Most of us do. It doesn’t mean the person is necessarily bad, they could be the person to someday find the cure for cancer, but what you feel when you look at a dirty person is what people might feel when you come up and your skin looks terrible.
These are some reasons why skincare is very important to everyday life, it gives you a positive mood, and makes people think more highly of you. Next time you go into your bathroom, maybe check a mirror and see if you look alright, it doesn’t mean that you’re invested in beauty, you’re just looking out for yourself.

Colors
I’ve never seen the world in images. The only thing I can see is color. Bright jagged shapes contrasting warm light hues, brilliant whites and blacks, soft silver and golds. I can see them all. Of course, I know I’m different. I am bronze.
When the schoolkids throw rocks into my house, I see purple.
When my mother bakes cookies for me, I see orange.
I see so many colors, but I’m sick of them, sick of life, why can’t I be normal? Why can’t I see images, not colors? Why can’t I play with the schoolchildren instead of being pelted by rocks from them? I see green when I ask these questions.
I’ve asked my mother repeatedly, but she refuses to tell me why. I see dark, dark blue.
Maybe because I wasn’t meant for this world. I give up, after years and years of trying, I finally give up. I see brown, a rich hue, but grainy with pieces flying everywhere.
Screams are yellow.
Pleads are black.
Finally, after a few minutes of waiting, of a rush of colors to my head, trying to escape the wretched darkness, I close my eyes and relax.
I see no colors.

Sunset Walks
The warm glow of the computer hits my sunken eyes as I slowly type in my password while thinking. Now, what was I supposed to do? Oh yes, finish researching for my Social Studies project, then write it all down in neat handwriting so that I won’t lose points on my grade. Then I have to finish my first draft for writing, and it has to be at least two pages and a quarter. Is that all?
I sigh, running my hand through my hair, unraveling all the tangles and troubles I have. I don’t feel like doing anything, and this isn’t the first time I’ve had this feeling. It’s been two hours, and I’m still not done, when will I be finished? Sure, I could do all of this quickly, but tomorrow is another day, where I’ll get more homework, and then the cycle repeats. I can’t escape this fate, I still have many more years of this, and I’m not looking forward to it.
When it comes to times like these, I can’t think straight, my brain is full of mush and whenever I try to activate it, it sloshes around, uselessly hitting the inside of my head, making everything unclear and foggy.
Lying my face on my arms, I close my eyes, feeling the most at peace I had from all the hours after school had ended.
My door creaked open and the sounds of familiar footsteps made by hard slippers, slapping against the wood ground. “Would you like to go out for a walk?” My mother asks.
I say that I’d really like to go on a walk, as I need a break from all the work I had. After such a long time, I finally had the salvation of going on a walk, such a simple thing, but so important to do.
The sun has almost set, bathing the sky in rich hues of pink and orange, reflecting onto the clouds, making them look like sweet and sugary spun cotton candy, just waiting for someone to take a bite out of them. The cicadas have just come out and started their evening long ballad, while the last of the birds fly away into their nests, settling down for a long night.
We started our walk in silence, footsteps echoing on the pavement, gravel crunching beneath our feet, and our slow breaths rose into the air as puffs of tiny clouds. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to talk, so I stayed silent. That silence meant everything and nothing, it made me more relaxed that I didn’t need to talk, and I could just look at the landscape and think about all the things that didn’t matter.
Going around familiar streets, my mind began to wander away from our path, it came to a place of peaceful bliss, of pure silence, a place where it could relax and take the time to worry about nothing.
This was something that sunset walks always made me feel so tranquil and serene, it was a time when you could detach from the world and be truly free. These sunset walks are something that I love to do but usually don’t have the time for, but when I do, I always promise to treasure it.
We always have to go back to reality, as each walk has to end, but these holes in the real world that lead to a place where you can truly be calm are so important to me. I know that I’m not the only one who’s experienced things like this, and I know that these tiny pieces of invaluable treasure, the ones that entire kingdoms fight for, are resting comfortably in my palms.

I’ve never seen the world in images. The only thing I can see is color. Bright jagged shapes contrasting the warm ocean of hues, brilliant whites, and blacks, soft silver, and golds. I can see them all. Every single one. Of course, I know I’m different from everyone else, I’ve never met someone just like me, someone to laugh with, someone to actually relate to.
Blue: A color intermediate between green and violet, as of the sky or sea on a sunny day
Blue is the color of normality, of a regular day, it’s a color that you can expect and not worry about it, the one that always fits into your life. Blue comes in different shades, teal, turquoise, light blue, and baby blue, of them. I can see it when I wake up, have breakfast with my mother patiently feeding me, getting dressed with my older sisters helping me choose my outfits, I can trust them, and I don’t have any worries about sweet, beautiful, calm blue.
Orange: A Reddish yellow
Orange is one of my favorite colors to see. It reminds me of happiness, of the days I live for. Every day I search longingly for the taste of it, to quench my thirst in the barren desert. Whenever my mother bakes cookies for me, a sweet orange, gooey but warm covers me, whispering: You’re safe in my arms. And I was then. But not always.
Purple: A color intermediate between red and blue
Purple is the color of fear, the color of disgust, the one I see when I know I’m not okay. A flash that blinds me, then steadily but surely, pounds me onto the ground until I can’t breathe. It’s the hue that appears before me when schoolchildren throw rocks at the windows, making me terrified and upset when my parents rush to repair the shattered glass. Had I caused that?
Green: The color between blue and yellow in the spectrum; colored like grass or emeralds
Green is the burden I have on my parents, the one that they want to get rid of, but also the one they can’t bear to let go. I’m just another weight on their chest they want to get rid of, but I’m afraid if they continue to keep me healthy and happy that will never happen, I’ll always be dependent, needing them like a vines on a tree, never to be removed, growing until it takes over the tree itself. Hushed whispers that my mother thinks I can’t hear, frowns and sympathetic sighs when I need help going outside and being able to see, prickly showers of it falling down, hitting me hard, each sharp edge reminding me of what I have caused. I know I’m not meant for this world that’s too good for me.
Black: The very darkest color owing to the absence of or complete absorption of light; the opposite of white
I see so many colors, but I’m sick of them, sick of life, why can’t I be normal? Why can’t I see images, not colors? Why can’t I play with the schoolchildren instead of being pelted by rocks from them? I see pink when I ask questions like these.
I’ve asked my mother repeatedly, but she refuses to tell me why. I see dark, dark gray.
Maybe because I wasn’t meant for this world. I give up, and after years and years of trying, I finally give up. I see brown, a rich hue, grainy with pieces flying everywhere.
The screams are yellow.
Pleads are black.
Finally, after a few minutes of waiting, of a rush of colors to my head, trying to escape the wretched darkness, I close my eyes and relax.
I see no colors.

Daily 11/19/22 on metaphors, homework representing ignorance
Every day I do homework, it’s to the point that it’s normal, and if I don’t do homework, it’s wrong. Sometimes we only have a little, and sometimes we have a ton, but there will always be homework. I truly enjoy it, it keeps me focused and interested in the topics I have to do, as there is nothing else to do on this barren wasteland.
Every single one of my friends does homework too, we go to school, receive homework, work on it after school, go to bed, wake up for school, and repeat. Homework is the spark in life for us, even though it’s there every day, it’s the only thing that we truly enjoy.
One night, my mother and I were at the dinner table, eating the regular gray mush rations sent by the government when we heard a sharp rap on our door.
My mother stands up, walks to the door, and calls, “Who’s there?”
“An adventurer seeking shelter, I promise to do no harm,”
I and my mother exchanged looks. Who would do harm? We’d never heard of such a thing. We’ve never had people hurting others, it’s just our nature of us, we keep to our own lives instead of wrecking or benefiting others.
“Come in,” my mother answers, deciding that they probably wouldn’t do anything bad. Unlocking the door, my mother is face to face with a dark shape.
When they step into the light of the cottage, I can see them more clearly. Brown hair, flying in different directions, wild but tamed, blue eyes, tan skin, and a face full of scars. I’d never seen someone like this, I’ve never seen anyone with remnants of pain reflected onto their body.
“Why are you here?” I ask.
“To escape the kingdom right next to you, they have been taken over by a band of cavemen, bloodthirsty for any people they can kill. Having no choice, I had to enter yours, but it was no easy feat, I had to be very careful not to be caught,” his face grimaces in pain.
This brought a whole lot of questions that needed to be answered. “There are other kingdoms? I thought this was the only one, I thought this place was the world, why would there be cavemen killing people, and why would we have so much security blocking you from coming in? Janspire is a peaceful place that welcomes all,” I try to make a sense of it all.
The man shakes his head. “They’ve been making you live under a rock, haven’t you? I’ve heard of this kingdom, but never learned much about it, as it was very secretive and didn’t allow outsiders to come in, they thought it was safer for their people to be ignorant of the real world, but how?”
He still didn’t answer all my questions, but I decided that I should first answer his question to get my answers. “Well, I mean there isn’t a lot to do here, only school and homework for us. School is fine, a bit boring, but the homework is the only thing really fun about this place,”
“That’s it? Do you guys only have school and homework? They’ve probably done this so you guys wouldn’t even think about the outside world, being too focused on homework, is the only thing that’s probably good here. That’s why there have been no people coming out of this kingdom, and I’m not sure how to get out. Answering your questions, the cavemen kill people because it’s their nature, they don’t care about others, only the benefit of themselves. Janspire’s been feeding you lies, the whole world is so much bigger than this tiny patch of land, there are thousands of kingdoms worth exploring, and we are stuck here,” he shakes his head. “How am I supposed to get out?”
My mother speaks up. “We’ll help you escape, but you must stay here and rest for a while, but on one condition, you must take us with you to explore the world, no matter how dangerous it is,” she looks at me. “Arabelle, are you in?”
“Yes, I am,” I say confidently.
“Well, let the journey begin,”

Dare or Dare Daily on Toby the half-orange and gray cat
Toby the cat was what you would call strange. With an orange and gray body, he would stride purposely into the garbage. The other cats would be amused by his antics, joking and laughing at him. Toby didn’t care, the world was his, not the other cats, they had their own ideas and he had his own.
Sometimes I admire Toby, and the nerve he has to not care about others' opinions in him. It’s funny for a cat to be a role model, but he is for me. He is the one I should be like, the one that just ignores the crowd and keeps on strutting in a clown outfit. It shouldn’t affect me. And if it doesn’t, it won’t give me any impact, just like Toby, now an old cat, living his days off dumpster diving and getting into fights with kittens, gently guiding them, teaching them how to live off the streets.
That’s my Toby.

Colors
I’ve never seen the world in images. The only thing I can see is color. Bright jagged shapes contrast a warm ocean of hues, brilliant whites, and blacks, soft silver, and golds. I can see them all, every single one. Of course, I know I’m different from everyone else, I’ve never met someone just like me, someone to laugh with, someone to actually relate to. Someone who would be by your side no matter what happened to you.Blue: A color intermediate between green and violet, as of the sky or sea on a sunny dayBlue is the color of normality, of a regular day, it’s a color that you can expect and not worry about it, the one that always fits into your life. Blue comes in different shades, teal, turquoise, light blue, and baby blue. But they all have something similar, they’re blissfully peaceful. I can see it when I wake up, have breakfast with my mother patiently feeding me, getting dressed with my older sisters helping me choose my outfits, I can trust them, and I don’t have any worries about sweet, beautiful, calm blue.Orange: A Reddish yellowOrange is one of my favorite colors to see. It reminds me of happiness, of the days I live for. Every day I search longingly for the taste of it, to quench my thirst in the barren desert. Whenever my mother bakes cookies for me, a sweet orange, gooey but warm covers me, whispering: You’re safe in my arms. And I was then. But not always.Purple: A color intermediate between red and bluePurple is the color of fear, the color of disgust, the one I see when I know I’m not okay. A flash that blinds me, then steadily but surely, pounds me onto the ground until I can’t breathe. It’s the hue that appears before me when the sound of hard rocks shatters the windows that the school children throw, jeering at me, making movements that I cannot see, making me terrified and upset as my parents rush to repair the shattered glass. Had I caused that?
Green: The color between blue and yellow in the spectrum; colored like grass or emeraldsGreen is the burden I have on my parents, the one that they want to get rid of, but also the one they can’t bear to let go of. I’m just another weight on their chest they want to get rid of, but I’m afraid if they continue to keep me healthy and happy that will never happen, I’ll always be dependent, needing them like vines on a tree, never to be removed, growing until it takes over the tree itself. Hushed whispers that my mother thinks I can’t hear, and sympathetic sighs when I need help going outside and being able to see when they have much more important things to do than help a disabled girl, prickly showers of it falling down, hitting me hard, each sharp edge reminding me of what I have caused. I know I’m not meant for this world that’s too good for me.
Black: The very darkest color owing to the absence of or complete absorption of light; the opposite of whiteBlack is the color of complete darkness, of silence. It isn’t something bad, sometimes it’s something relieving to have, something that tells you to give up, and you know you have to. It washes over you until you completely succumb to it, empty and gone.
I see so many colors, but I’m sick of them, sick of life, why can’t I be normal? Why can’t I see images, not colors? Why can’t I play with the schoolchildren instead of being pelted by rocks from them? I see pink from the confusion of it all.
I’ve asked my mother repeatedly, but she refuses to tell me why. I see dark, dark gray, the color of stubbornness, one that I rarely see. This is one of the first times my mother has ever acted like this.
Maybe because I wasn’t meant for this world. I give up, and after years and years of trying, I finally give up. I see brown, a rich hue, grainy with pieces flying everywhere, where everything crumbles into dust, of relentless working until you realize there is no way to defeat it.
The screams are yellow, of how scared my family must be.
Pleads are black, dark, and empty, why should I listen to them? I’ve already listened, but their promises were nothing, I could not achieve the world’s high standards.
Finally, after a few minutes of waiting, of a rush of colors to my head, trying to escape the wretched darkness, I close my eyes and relax.
I see no colors.

Daily 11/24/22 Dual Timeline
“H-h-hey, did you drop this?” Annette lifts up a beautiful pearl necklace and looks and a girl with similar beautiful hair and face.
The girl snorts in her direction. “I believe you have something that is mine, why would you ever touch it with your filthy peasant hands, get them off of my necklace!” The girl rushes and snatches it away for her. “Begone, I have an important meeting to attend, interacting with the likes of you people is too low for my standards,”
Anette lifted her head, watching through the shiny polished glass as the ball began. “And they said I couldn’t be at the same level as them,” she smirked, ready to poise any moment, the attack would begin soon.
A dark figure gave her the signal, and she launched herself down, shattering their perfect glass, stepping on their perfect ground with muddy shoes, facing all the perfect people that scrunched their noses in disgust at her.
Well, that was all going to change soon. And it would be because of her. Anette felt her lips forming into a small smirk.
As Anette watched the little girl, just about her age flounce away in her bejeweled outfit, she looked down at her own. It wasn’t anything special, just regular farm clothes, it was nothing too terrible, but it wasn’t as fancy as the other girl’s outfit. She still couldn’t understand why her outfit was so bad.
Later, when she asked her parents about this, she received sighs of sympathy, Anette’s ignorance of this topic was not going going to stay long. As they slowly explained why the world was the world, Anette’s face formed into an expression of disgust and disbelief.
She still couldn’t understand why, but one day, she vowed, she would make things right. One day she would cross the border between fancy and the poor.
