Minecraft 1.21.5 Pre-Release 3 (March 18th, 2025)

It's Tuesday, and today we're bringing you a third pre-release for Minecraft 1.21.5, with some fixes to recently introduced issues.

Minecraft LIVE Is back! (March 3rd, 2025)

Minecraft LIVE is the show to watch to learn about everything happening in the world of Minecraft! Our next one will broadcast at 1PM ET on Saturday March 22! We’ll feature never-before-seen game drop content, go direct to our developers for the top-secret insights, and let you know what’s happening in the wider world of Minecraft. The upcoming show really is packed so be sure to tune in to get the news first-hand. We’ve also prepared an after show that’s not to be missed! In fact, it’s so special we’ve decided to give it its own name: The Deep Dig starts immediately after the main show and will feature first playthroughs of the new drop, developers sharing their wisdom, and mystery guests!

If you’re one of the greatest people – one of those types who follows every bit of Minecraft news and tracks it all in a detailed calendar - you might be slightly alarmed that this show is happening just six months after the last one. Fret not, dedicated crafter - this is our plan from now on: to share more of our epic plans more regularly. We hope it’s not too overwhelming.

Cherry Blossom Biome Arriving in 1.20 (February 14th, 2023)

[…] the cherry blossom biome will be coming soon to Java snapshots and Bedrock betas and previews. This marks the final reveal in our Minecraft 1.20 feature list! […] This beautiful biome is filled with cherry blossom trees that bring a unique look to the horizon as their crowns are big and flat, like fluffy pink clouds. It’s no wonder that three adorable mobs, pigs, sheep, and bees, are drawn to them and will spawn in this biome. […] The cherry tree can be broken down into a full wood-set as well as crafted into the new hanging sign that is also coming in Minecraft 1.20! You can also find cherry tree saplings in the biome, so you can plant them wherever you want.

Archeology Coming To Minecraft 1.20 (February 10th, 2023)

When you’re ready to get started with your new career as a Minecraft Archeologist, or M’archeologist as it’s known colloquially, head out to a nearby desert. That’s where the sand lives. […] While you’re digging, look out for a new block: suspicious sand! As the name suggests, you need to tread carefully here. Or rather, brush carefully. Along with new blocks and a general air of mystery, archeology also brings a new tool: The brush. Break it out, and carefully brush your block of suspicious sand. This allows you to extract whatever is hiding within, which can be anything from pottery shards to random objects!
