Blender (3D modeling software)
How do I export an animation as an MP4 file in Blender? I'm having trouble. In the output properties tab, go to the output panel, set file format to FFmpeg Video. Under Encoding, choose the MPEG-4 container.

I've done that. How do I export an animation as an MP4 file in Blender? I'm having trouble. In the output properties tab, go to the output panel, set file format to FFmpeg Video. Under Encoding, choose the MPEG-4 container.
But when I try to save it, it shows this instead:

Wait, what are you trying to export?
Do you have an animation you want to render directly to mp4 (what I understood your question as)? If this is the case, the file automatically gets generated and saved to the path given after the animation has been fully rendered (you ran the render animation operation).

Wait, what are you trying to export?Yes, I'm trying to directly render it as an MP4 file. It doesn't save anything as MP4 (only PNG, WEBP, JPG, etc), and I used the “Save As” option.

Where's the save as button you are talking about? There's not supposed to be one, there's only the file output path you can select (with an accept button).Wait, what are you trying to export?Yes, I'm trying to directly render it as an MP4 file. That's to save the current frame as an image. You don't need it.It appears when I use the “Render Animation” option.Where's the save as button you are talking about? The video file is automatically placed in the location you specify here:

I made this animation for my animation class last yearThat's a very good animation! It has a fun story!
I currently hold the record for longest animation in that class.

I'm actually getting good at Blender animation now.
At first, I started off without any experience of using Blender as an animation tool, and look at me now!

Depicted above: The first animation I made, and my latest Blender animation

blender is so insane to learn, like, making a complex project in it will take over AN ENTIRE YEAR, OR TWO, OR EVEN THREE
