Is there really somebody who could hack your account automatically?

I've seen rumors of a user who has hacked Animal Jam (I know his name but I don't want to name and shame) and then has hacked Scratch. If you bump into him, your account will glitch and then will be hacked. Is this true? Getting hacked automatically?

I have no idea… I recommend contacting the ST about it so that they can look into this.

Hint: You'll know his name if you're involved in Animal Jam.

I'd say there's a 99.9999999999% chance that this rumor's just a rumor.

98.7% of the time scratchers say “hackers” they're referring to someone doing this to their scratch account:

but most of the time someone gotten their account broken into, it's probably they just let their password slip somewhere, or a sibling got onto the computer after they forgot to log out. Then someone goes onto scratch onto 5 different forums, including advanced topics, and says “MY ACCOUNT GOT HACKED!” and then that inspires more people to play “hacker”…

I assure you, “hackers” wouldn't try to get into your scratch or animal jam account, and if they would, they would look something like this:

While theoretically it's possible that someone could access any account on Scratch, that person would have to be A: a corrupt ST member or B:
Work out the database password for the Scratch servers, and you probably need to be at MIT physically and have a really powerful computer working night and day for years to get the password.

Anything else is rumour and bad passwords.

Well, there are plenty of exploits that _could_ occur.
Most of them are unlikely.

Lol, nice use of hackertyper.com. These days most people don't even understand what hacking is; I spend ages persuading people about how password guessing/knowing is not hacking.

If you think your account was logged/'hacked' into without your authorization, first reset your password, email the Scratch Team to check for suspicious activity from other IP addresses, then ask siblings if they have been messing with your accounts recently.

Some hackers are fake and they only use the name “Hacker” to mainly scare people. So it might be fake…

Hmmm…I think that the ST needs to be notified. Go to the profile of one of the ST members and comment your problem.

This sums the issue up quite humorously nicely.

We've never really seen a case of someone hacking into an account (let alone hacking automatically) - almost every “hacking” case we have come across has always been either a password cracking issue, password sharing issue, or a case of someone staying logged on. It's why it's important to choose a strong password, change it regularly, keep the password know only to you, and remember to log out of a shared computer.

Sadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.
