Hey there Scratch, is it okay if we save and load other peoples projects and credit them?

It's probably best to remix the project, but as long as you make a noticeable change and credit them, you should be all good.

No that would be stealing. You have to change something.
Also musicrocks013 beat me to this

without permission, no. all it would do is create confusion. besides, why would you want to do that in the first place?
however with permission(say, in a collab, where the collaborators download and load the project each on their account) this would be allowed

EDIT: HOW DID I GET DOUBLE NINJA'D

This isn't true. You don't need someone's permission because they are giving it to you when they make the project.

Remixing is a great way to collaborate and connect with other Scratchers. You are encouraged to use anything you find on Scratch in your own creations, as long as you provide credit to everyone whose work you used and make a meaningful change to it. And when you share something on Scratch, you are giving permission to all Scratchers to use your work in their creations, too.

I’ll change things and also credit the original project. Because I know not crediting and changing is stealing and it shouldn’t be allowed.

I'd recommend remixing for that

Well it's good because it automatically credits the original project AND notifies the creator that you remixed it.

I don't see how saving projects and loading them on your account without any consent whatsoever is using the original person's work in your own creation

Well, if they just save and load it is just plagiarism. But maybe with consent and also, crediting and editing I think it’s totally fine. If the creator is fine there is nothing wrong right?

My point is that consent isn't a factor. All that matters is making a noticeable change and giving credit.

there are no noticeable changes. just credit. imagine if someone downloaded your project and reposted it on their account. while they do give credit they haven't changed a single thing about it. would you like that?
