About 6 months ago, I set the wallpaper on every school laptop I could get my hands on to a picture of my mouth with uwu written underneath it. They still don't know who did it.

I like how schools let you play pc games during indoor recess, and then block all of them

the most popular game in our school's computer lab is chrome dino, we recently got an upgrade to 8th gen i3s and 8GB of RAM and used hard disks from 5 years ago (performance is still horrible and the bottleneck is the disk, its always at 90-100% usage)

even though we have PyCharm installed on most of the PCs, the teachers only let us use IDLE

make an extension for pycharm (really its just intellij IDEA reskinned for python) and then reskin the whole editor and make it look like IDLE.

DISCLAIMER: this may not be about school it but there are 3 really bad things in our school and this is a really long post ranting about some horribly made program!!! please tell me if i should make a new topic for number 2 instead!!!

1 (ancient): we have 1 pc with a windows xp sticker on it (we have great economy thats why)


2 (EXTREMELY BAD, maybe thats just because i have a habit of playing around with the boards because school is boring): they installed some really horrible program on the windows mode of our smartboards (it runs on android) that says “oh, please insert a valid usb or enter a pin to use this!!!” with a 59 minute shutdown timer, the program “freezes” occasionally making it impossible to unlock the board with a pin (you have to wait a while when inserting the usb when its “frozen” and the timer doesnt pause when you do that)

the program is also stored in the desktop for some reason making it VERY EASY to delete it as long as you get a teacher to unlock it for you

and since the board actually runs on android and the program is only on the pc you can use the board (there is a whole office suite and a cool drawing app)

but most of the time when a teacher quits the app and returns to the windows mode the program already “freezes” so they blame it on me for playing around with the android mode (primarily the wonderful drawing app that has no grey color) when the android mode doesnt interfere with the windows mode AT ALL (i keep trying to explain it to them but since they know nothing about how badly this program was made they dont believe me)

and since it runs after you log in windows you can get in the troubleshooting options area and delete it with the power of cmd (i dont think you can do it though because there is no keyboard) very cool thing right?

and it has this “always always ALWAYS on top #1” mode it can get on top of that one annoying message that tells you to use microsoft 365 (oobe)

i wonder who coded that program, i would like to tell them that nothing would be better than this program with too many flaws

so yeah, thats the really bad program i had to rant about in a topic that isnt even about the topic (and i probably revealed my location by describing the program)

3 (very good): we dont have horrible school internet filtering!!!!!!

4 (very bad, probably not about the topic): in computer class we dont really get to even use a computer the teacher just teaches us a hard language for others and we take note of it with pen and paper (because the economy here is very very good REFER TO NUMBER 1) and sometimes we get to code it by ourselves collaboratively on the on the smart board (and it takes way too long without me) i also suck at the language but who cares

and i forgot to mention, thats the only board who doesnt have that horrible school program!
