July 2022 SWC Writing Megathread
7-15-22 – 523 Words – 900 pts
Item :: A large stack of paper
I stood there, in the middle of my bedroom. Or, what used to be my bedroom. Now, everything was charred black, and almost everything was unrecognisable. I was still in shock. Only three or so hours ago, I had been sitting right there, at my bedroom desk, doodling in a sketchbook, when I heard a high pitched shrieking from the downstairs level of our house. It took me a few seconds to figure out what it was, and when it did, it felt like my heart had stopped and my breath had gotten caught in my throat. The fire alarm. There was no way. It had to be a test, or just somebody burning something in the oven. But then my instincts and my common sense kicked in. I shot out of my seat and dashed downstairs. I froze. The flames were orange, yellow, red, and a bit of blue as they crawled up the wall opposite to me, in the kitchen. They weren’t blocking my escape route, which was through the front door, but I just couldn’t believe it. Our house was on fire. I then snapped back to reality. Right. The house. On fire. I covered my nose and my mouth with my sleeve and darted towards the kitchen door. I ran down the hallway and out the front door, down the three steps that led up to the porch, and onto the sidewalk. It had been so hot in there that the breeze of cold air reminded me that I needed to do something. I grabbed my phone from my back pocket and dialled 9-1-1.
A mix of emotions swirled around my gut. I swallowed hard to make sure everything stayed down through my tears. A black Mercedes skidded to a stop behind me. I turned around from where I watched our house go up in flames to see my dad, in his business suit, climb out and hurry over to me. He hugged me, and was about to say something when sirens cut through the air. A fire truck pulled up, followed by three more, and an ambulance.
I shook my head. That had only been three hours ago. Remembering my doodles and all my art, I went over to what I believed to be the remnants of my desk and chair. If any of it was there, it was charred and completely unrecognisable. It was all gone. The paintings and drawings that I had worked for months on, the sculptures from art class, all of it. Now it was all ashes.
I left the remnants of our house and walked outside. Not that our house still had a roof. I didn’t know what to do with myself, so I plopped down on the sidewalk and stared at our house.
I didn’t even realise that I had started crying, but the tears were streaming down my face as my nextdoor neighbour, Ashley, walked up. She was a few years older than me, and we had maybe hung out once or twice? She sat down next to me before saying,
“I’m so sorry. I know how terrible it is, and I’m super sorry about all of your art.” I didn’t trust myself to speak, so I offered her a sad smile. She handed me something. I took it, and realised that it was a stack of paper. There was tracing paper, construction paper, printer paper, everything. This time, I managed to say,
“Thank you so much. This definitely helps.”

7-14-22 – 205 Words – 700 pts
Aalia Reyes is a teenage girl with an older sister and a younger brother. She sleeps a lot overall because both of her siblings are really chill and aren’t up at five in the morning bouncing off the walls. She has a single mother who is rarely around but tries her hardest. She goes to a lot of parties, so she usually ends up falling asleep around midnight or a few hours later, but she sleeps in as late as she can. Her school starts late in the morning, so she can sleep in and make up for staying out late.
Jasper Hall is an only child. He, like Aalia, loves to go to parties, and is at one most nights. His sleep schedule is quite similar to Aalia’s, because they go to the same school and both go to the same parties. Jasper’s parents are both business people who leave very early in the morning for work. Occasionally, they’ll wake him up accidentally as they leave, but that’s rare. Some of the time, they’ll decide to go on a vacation, and just leave at four in the morning without telling Jasper. If they aren’t home by seven in the evening, they’re on a vacation.

July 2022 SWC Writing Megathread
Arli's Thank-Yous♡ I AM SO LATE ♡
If you were in March ‘22’s real-fi, you'll probably remember me taking 19 days to upload my thank-yous, so I guess this is.. progress?
♡ (Co)Hosts ♡Robin @-redredrobin-
ROBIN AMAZING NEW SPOST–ahem HOST <33 Should I be more professional with these thank-yous? I probably should :] You were a perfect balance of a responsible, helpful host (I know you took on a lot stepping up to the rank of host during such an active time for SWC) and a fun SWC-er who kept the chaotic (/pos) vibes going. I feel like it’s not a coincidence that Poetry won last session under your leadership and Myth’s on a path to win now with you as a co. Just saying.
(And, as a side note–although this session’s Poetry didn’t make it so high on the leaderboard, I’m honored to have succeeded you as its leader!)Birdi @Bellevue91
Birid :eyes: you’ve been such a consistently dedicated force in SWC for as long as I can remember <33 You’re kind, tolerant, and always patient as a host, and you’ve always helped me out with any concerns or questions I have. I know that every leader, co, camper, and committee member feels the same way. Thriller was a fantastically creative cabin that I would’ve loved to be a part of if I was a camper this session. You motivated your cabin to reach great heights and always brought humor and fun to your position as leader and host too. Thank you for everything, Birdi <3
Honey @honeybreeze
Being the procrastinator that I am, I’m writing this after finding out that you’re stepping down. And for you and Bakie both, I know that takes a lot of maturity. I’ve only had a few conversations with you, but I know you’re hilarious and fun and all the things that create the wonderful dynamic of SWC. You’ve been an extraordinary co-host, and I hope that your gHosthood and your future adventures serve you well! I had the honor to be your fellow SWC-er <3 A. Sunset
Bakie @-ChocoLoco-
I regret so much that I never really talked to you because you seem so sweet and funny from every time I’ve seen you around SWC, and I would have been honored to know you. Regardless, as I said to Honey, I know stepping down from a well-deserved position in SWC takes a lot of responsibility. You’ve done a lot for this camp and I hope that you enjoy your journeys outside of SWC. Keep writing

♡ Teams and Committees ♡Daily Team
Robin, Birdi, Honey, Bakie, Zura, Zai, and Lio! Your immense dedication and chaos this session made an unmatchable difference to SWC! I loved the among us chaos that went down towards the end of the session and I’m never going to forget that xDD I just know that creating our dailies and weeklies must have taken a lot of dedication, and I am so grateful for you guys for a job that SWC wouldn’t be SWC without <3
MBC and Postscript
I am looking forward to seeing the results of your hard work, and I know that you make a huge contribution to SWC by keeping the session’s spirit going even after SWC has ended! Thank you all for that you do to contribute to SWC <33
♡ SWC Friends ♡Soki @Rey_venclaw
Soki!! I was SO glad to see you as leader for a third consecutive session, although I was slightly jealous of your campers /mj. Because, after having you as our hardworking and ever-helpful leader in Thriller last November, I knew you absolutely deserved the position. Talking to you this session was a complete joy, and I’m so glad that we got to stay in touch. Even though we didn’t talk as much as a few sessions ago, I don’t think we’re any less close, Soki – you’re still one of my most valuable friends in SWC and it was quite an honor to be your friendly neutral this session. Not to mention that Adventure was an outstanding cabin and gave me the best vibes, just like you

Luna @Luna-Lovegood-LOL
LUNA you are so cool :0 I’m unsure of how to express this so I’ll start by saying that Horror, aside from being, well, Horror, radiated with your positive energy <3 Anyone can tell from looking at your profile how wonderful you are, how kind and fun you are towards everyone, and I am so lucky to have been your friend and fellow leader team member during the past session
I remember the night I found out that you would be leading a cabin, specifically Fan-Fi – I was so glad because you’d been an outstanding co-leader :0 I’m so glad you were a leader again because you absolutely deserve it and Horror’s campers were so lucky <3Sai @Starrial
I have not forgotten you, fantastic Sai! Even though I didn’t chat with you this session, I still remember you as the fantastic co of Thriller and I was so glad to see you apply, then even more overjoyed to see Luka choose you as Dystopian’s co! Once I send you this thank-you, I hope we can talk again. It was lovely being in your presence again during July's session (wow, i sound so formal lol). Dystopian’s matching profile pictures were STUNNING and I adored the theme! I know that a large part of that was because of your outstanding work <3 Keep being amazing Sai

Addie @creatiivity
pow pow pow pow. corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs corgs
Fellow July ‘21 Dystopianer, it was so fun to talk to you again this session
You’re such a hilarious person to chat with and I absolutely knew that you would be an amazing leader for Non-Fi when I saw that you had been chosen. That was quickly proven true.
Your SWC memes were insanely entertaining and you brought lots of fun to the July 2022 session. Even if Poetry and Non-Fi were enemy cabins (and Poetry was equipped with my army of corgs /j /lh), I always thought of you as a good friend this session <33Lio @opheliio
Lio, I knew from seeing you as Adventure’s kind and helpful leader last session that Script would be outstanding–and you took on the challenge of leading a unique new genre with wonderful eloquence. When I asked to be sibling cabins with you, instead of rejecting the offer, you turned the wonderful Script/Hi-Fi duo into the incredible Script/Hi-Fi/Poetry trio–and the Enduring Library. I wish I’d talked to you a bit more this session, but just know that you are absolutely fantastic, and Script was a well-thought-out and gorgeous cabin that I was so honored to be siblings with. <3
Fae @-faerylights
FAEE FELLOW FORMER REAL-FIRE REAL-FI-ER <333 Obviously I have so much gratitude for you from last session, when you were the kindest, coolest leader ever–and I’m so glad I was able to be part of the (co)leader team with you once again this session. When I saw that you were co-leading Script, I was like ‘ooohh wait potential sibling prospect?’ and look how that turned out
From this session, I remember you being endlessly supportive, cheering me on throughout weeklies and the writing competition and more. You’re still my amazing Real-Fi leader, still one of my wonderful Script-ian siblings, and ALWAYS one of my closest friends.Sun @sunclaw68
SUN YOU ARE – where do I start? – SO INCREDIBLY COOL :0 As I said to Lio, I didn’t know much about you or Hi-Fi at the beginning of the session – and I am so glad that changed <33 A lot of people wouldn’t want to change their plans and let another cabin into their epic alliance, but you did. And I’m so glad it turned out that way, because as I said to Lio, I absolutely loved being siblings with Hi-Fi, which was such a creative and well-executed cabin thanks to you and your fantastic cos, this session. You’re so kind and such a talented and admirable writer, and I am honored to have become friends and siblings with you.

Goose @graceobrien13
Every time I talked to you, Goose, you were so warm and encouraging and I’m so glad we got to be siblings this session–you were one of the first Hi-Fi-ers I met <33 Thank you for giving me that prompt for the weekly when I needed it and, as a more broad theme, always being there to offer support! You’re so epic and supportive I hope we can continue to be friends come November and the following sessions

♡ My amazing Poetry campers!! ♡Scarlett @22shock
I’m so glad you got sorted into Poetry this session, Scarlett! I think I’ve seen you around SWC before and I always got very cool vibes from you, and I was so honored to have you as a camper :0 Once you got sorted into our cabin, Poetry brightened up so much because of your loyalty and snazziness

Mars @-bvbbietea
Ahh Mars you’re so sweet and such a positive person <33 You made an amazing member of Poetry! It makes me so happy to see campers like you making meaningful memories and chatting with other campers, and that’s something epic I noticed about you this session
You made a wonderful addition to Poetry <3Elle @airbagei
Thank you for being such a wonderful Poetry camper this month! You did a wonderful job during cabin wars, which helped me out a lot to stay calm, and you give me very cool vibes as a person generally!
Also, I love your username!Fishy @artisticone111
Fishy. I know you left, and I already gave you a thank-you on that project, but I just wanted to say again. From meeting you in the Myth-Fi hangout and having the privilege of chatting with you, to seeing you join Poetry (which was such an honor to have you <33) and bring fun, help, light (both of positivity and fire), and 20k+ words to our cabin – this session made me appreciate you even more as a person and friend. Best of luck in your new school year, and thank you for all your contributions this session

Rain @deedee8
Rain, I will remember you as the encouraging camper who always made Poetry a better place. You were always polite and patient when it came to word-adding (always saying “thank you!” and helping me out), and I’ll never forget your appreciation and kindness – I particularly remember roleplay day, when I digitally slapped myself in the forehead lol and you reassured me that it was okay to make errors <33 That appreciation you showed that day meant a lot, and I haven’t forgotten it :]
Erriese @erriese
Erriese you deserve all the mangoes in the world and more!! You’re so positive and fun to chat with, and I was so glad to get you as a camper because you always showed your love of writing and Poetry :0 That kind of positivity is what made Poetry come alive as a cabin, and I won’t forget that! Working on the last Poetry adventure with you and Mystic was so fun because of your epic, sweet personality! Keep eating wonderful mangoes and being your wonderful, kind self

Rose @fr00ggy
I didn’t talk to you much, Rose, but seeing you come in as a backup camper and then making meaningful connections and chatting with others in Poetry meant a lot to me. Campers like you are so cool :0 I’m so glad you joined Poetry this session <33
Peggy @gh0stwriter
I’ve seen you around SWC before and always known that you were super cool, but having you in Real-Fi last session and then Poetry this session was a whole new snazzy experience that I'm so grateful for! You did a lot of weeklies and activities to help our cabin out, and were consistently sweet and fun as a camper. Thank you so much for the amazing gift! And I know I said this after last session – but I truly can see you as a (co)leader in the future

Yui @ka26dhan
Yui, you were a helpful and active camper who assisted in earning us a lot of geodes! I didn’t get to know you well this session, but you radiate sweet and kind energy and it was an honor to have you in Poetry. You were one of the backups who came in and lifted our cabin up (literally–we’ve climbed the leaderboard with the help of all of you)!
Mystic @mysticscratcher101
Yesss!! A Real-Fi-er!
D I remember you being sweet and funny in last session’s Academy of , but this session I really got to know you. Thank you for getting Poetry to “double geode glory”, as I said, working with Erriese and I on the last weekly adventure (we had a lot of fun with that ;>), and being one of Poetry’s most active and dedicated campers! Sky @skywrites
Thank you. Thank you for always being so appreciative and doing so much for our cabin. Literally any leader would be SO lucky to have you as a camper. And I did. How awesome is that? And then we started obsessing over mountain thingies together, and realized we’d seen each other before in the amazing Thrillee Dective Ahenvy. That’s when I knew that our friendship was going to last beyond Poetry. It’s also when we started making the chaotic projects for one another, with SWC-2 and SWC-3 and all the memories that I am never going to forget from this session. Seriously. This will not be the end of our positively chaotic online friendship of wonderflunes <3
Amethyst @twilightstar22
Amethyst, thank you so much for your help during cabin wars!! You were quite a helpful member and I can tell from my brief interactions that you are very sweet and kind, and a great addition to Poetry
)Vi @vc555
I AM IN THE PRESENCE OF AN EXTRAORDINARY PERSON :0 VI you’re so sweet and fun adslkcxnmv I loved having your energy in the Poetry cabin and you were one of our most active and dedicated campers as well! I saw you making friends with lots of other Poetrians (*slow clap lol*), and watching that means so much to me. Thank you for being a fantastic camper this session. I hope I can see you again in November and beyond. <3
Angie @weirdlyangie
Angie!! You were one of the first people I recall saying hi to in Poetry and I could automatically tell that you’re so energetic and positive! Any cabin leader would be lucky to have someone like you in their cabin, and I’m so glad I got the honor. <33 Keep being yourself! You’re not weird – you’re fun and amazing

Evelyn @willowshine45
Evelyn, I didn’t talk to you much, but you were very helpful in cabin wars and a great camper all around :0 You wrote quite a bit of number! Just over 10k? That’s going to help us a lot! Thank you for your dedication <3
If I didn’t mention you! It was just because I didn’t get to know you very well this session, but I can confirm with certainty that you were a wonderful member of SWC! Thank you for being part of Poetry this session, I was honored to lead all of you

♡ The time has come for me to get very emotional whilst addressing my unmatched Poetry team. Here goes ♡
“They are asking me to lead,
I’m doing the best I can
To get the Poetry team that I need
I’m asking you to be my… co-leader?” ;)
Cami @hamilchaos
Fortunately, there were cookies, and unfortunately, Arli showed up and stole them. And fortunately, this theft wasn’t only the start of a chaotic game that Myth’s co Cami and Real-Fi’s co Arli played together: it was also the start of one of the most valuable friendships I’ve had here on Scratch and altogether. I remember thinking you were extremely cool and that I would love to be one of your friends back then, which is still incredibly true. Through each conversation, we have always made a very chaotic duo that I am endlessly grateful grew into Team Poetry this session. When I went to go through applications and choose my cos, I was so excited to see that you applied–and quite surprised to see that you hadn’t gotten any offers. I knew that was going to change. I’m so glad I made that decision, because you were an incredibly kind, helpful co-leader. Contributing so many ideas that shaped Poetry. Being endlessly patient and understanding. Being a co-leader I could rely on. We created so many fun chaos things this session #likehavingconversationsinhashtags and <23 and the Eliza/sleep debate of endless Hamilton refs haha. I’m so glad that my previous self who wanted to be your friend so much got her wish.

Sein @spire-
Sein, as soon as I saw your application, I instantly knew that you would bring so much positive energy to Poetry. And I knew that I just had to give you an offer. You were funny, sweet, and clearly a fantastic option for a new co-leader–and I was surprised that this was your first session, because you were so responsible and learned the ropes so quickly. Finding out that you and Cami brainstormed the mountain theme that later became the Poetry Mountain Lodge made me incredibly happy
You consistently showed immense dedication to Poetry. You made our astounding matching profile pictures, crafted absolutely perfect thumbnails, and did incredible work with Poetry’s storyline that our cabin really would not have been the same without. And once July began, I got to see you in action–always being professional and reliable but fun and chaotic with inside jokes. (Asdlkxncmv,x the incorrect quotes–and the chaos *ahem* hamilchaos that went down with all the references–). You were an incredible co-leader, and although this was your first session on the team, I sure hope to see you on it again one day. <3“Raise a glass to Poetry
Something they can never take away
No matter what they tell you–
Raise a glass to the /four/ of us!”
Jade @seasiide
Jade!! Poetry veteran, playful goddess of mischief and geodes, and also the incredible honorary who consistently encouraged Poetry’s campers! I was overjoyed when you asked me to be Poetry’s honorary, and when I told Cami and Sein, they enthusiastically agreed that you would be an AMAZING addition to our cabin. It was then that Team Poetry became complete. You happily became a vital member of our storyline, motivating us and our campers to earn geodes both as their “opponent”–and as a kind positive force who never failed to cheer us all on. If Poetry hadn’t had you as an honorary, our cabin truly wouldn’t have been the same–our storyline, the positive energy that the Poetry Mountain Lodge radiated because of you, and the inside jokes and fun that we had together. Thank you for everything you did for our cabin. You weren’t just an “honorary”, Jade. You were one of us.
♡ One final note ♡The thing about leading for me was that Cami, Sein, Jade, and I worked hard to make a wonderful experience for our campers, and I know that each and every leader, co, (co)host, and committee member did the same. And all of you brought it to life. So even if I've never had an interaction with you in SWC, I am still so grateful for the fact that you did that. I am genuinely never going to forget this unimaginably outstanding session. <3

July 2022 SWC Writing Megathread
okay sO disclaimer most of this was written two weeks ago— and I just had a couple notes left to do that I procrastinated on until now </3 many apologies that these did not come out sooner!
Alright, so another SWC over. I probably won’t go off on a tangent about all my past sessions this time, but since March 2020 this camp has changed me— as a writer, but most importantly as a person. We bring SWC to around 500 participants three months per year, and I can guarantee you that many of them have had experiences like me. The work everyone does to make this possible is what makes it possible for campers to learn new skills and grow personally by forming bonds with others. You— whether you’re a host, a leader, a camper, or anyone else involved in SWC— are part of this. That’s pretty amazing
So many, many thank yous are in order! Unfortunately I didn’t get to all the ones I had planned, but I hope you understand the sentiment just the same.
If I’m being honest it is technically true that I’m aiming to write a bunch so I can end my word count for the session on a nice number. I wanted 35k— just a little bit too far behind on that one hehe so I’m aiming for 32k with these thank yous <3
Update: So at first I was thinking it would be impossible for me to hit 32k either as I’m a bit more behind on these than I hoped, ehe, but now I’m getting quite close! I have about ten minutes left but I need to match Bakie’s word count so I am exercising my fingers today
(It terrifies me that I’m part of every group I mentioned here except my campers. No wonder I’m absolutely swamped.)
To my fellow hosts:
I can’t start this letter without first jumping to you all. Birdi, Sawyer, Bakie— I appreciate you beyond words. You brought me into the team and it’s been an unforgettable experience every step of the way. Thank you for your endless support as I’ve been finding my footing this session. It’s incredible to finally play this role in the camp that was my rock, my community, for two years and counting. I think the reality of hosting never matched my imagination; but I’ve loved it nevertheless. You three are some of the most amazing leaders, writers, and friends that I’ve ever met and I feel so privileged to have gotten the chance to host with you. I know already wrote you notes for the weekly so I’ll keep these as short as I can but I’d be remiss not to say something here <3
Birdi— Aah you are so incomparable to anyone. From your impressive organization and leadership to your unlimited creativity to your kindness and caring, you’re an incredible person through and through. I’m so glad I’ve gotten to know you and work with you! It’s been an amazing session— I appreciate all your help acquainting me with everything I need to do. Thank you for being you!! I hope to talk more with you in the future on more enjoyable topics than rules and the work we do, hehe ^^
Sawyer— You are. So cool. SWC would have such a difficult time without you— you’re so creative and amazing at getting things done, especially with code. Ever since we met you’ve been such an incredible friend <33 and is it just me or are you very good at solving problems? It seems like you constantly have a logical approach whenever I or someone else is going insane over something, which is awesome because I’m great at going insane over things. Thank you for all you’ve done for camp— from all the ways you’ve improved our systems to your regular camp work as a co-host. It’s been an amazing opportunity to host with you two years after we led together (best session ever) and I hope you enjoy not hosting anymore, hehe!
Bakie— Oh goodness. Where to start? Getting the opportunity to host with the person who kickstarted my SWC journey is a dream come true and I’ve had so much fun doing it, even though I know you’ve been so busy this summer. It had been a while since we’d really gotten to talk and getting to interact with you so much, whether it was our own conversations or the creation of SusWC, was an absolute pleasure. With what you mentioned in your note to me; I know that you’re right about how we’ve grown so much together and it’s been incredible to have someone there who is a lot like me, really
Love you so much, and good luck with your pursuits after co-hosting!
To my fellow judges:
You are incredible! I’ve discovered this week that judges do not get nearly enough credit. So many entries to read through. So many hours spent. So many tough decisions. I’m excited for our fights to the death soon <3
Fi— Fi! I know you aren’t done judging but I really appreciate the time you’ve spent judging and the thought you put into it. I still wish I’d gotten the chance to lead with you last March </3 And I know you’ve been doing a great job as a Dystopian co! If I recall correctly you wrote that absurd amount of words on cabin wars— that’s dedication! So props to you on that
Sine— Hello there, o bearer of zeal-driven legs
But in all seriousness, thank you so much for helping me through the judging process. Your passion for judging and your effectiveness in it are very impressive and the speed you got through all those entries at— incredible. It was really nice to be able to talk to you more while we’ve judged together since I know we haven’t interacted much in the past! I look forward to getting to know you further in the future
Starr— STARRARAR I know we haven’t talked much so far but thank you so much for everything you do as a judge! I noticed how fast you sped through those entries after Sini finished— good job on that
From what I’ve seen you’re an incredibly kind and caring person, and I can’t go through this note without tipping my hat to your impeccable writing skills. All of your past comp entries that I’ve read are amazing, and I absolutely envy your style. I hope we get to talk more in future sessions! And I’m quite excited for next session as well
To the daily team:
Working with you all, especially in the creation of SusWC, will always be one of my favorite SWC experiences. All of you are talented, dedicated, and such amazing people
Those days where we were planning nine hours straight— to those reading this not on the daily team, I kid you not, there were multiple days where we worked for eight or nine hours straight on SusWC planning— were so exhausting and rewarding at the same time. I’m amazed by all we achieved this month and excited to see you all around SWC in the future
Zai— Zai, you are hands down one of the most dedicated people I’ve met in my life. I know I’ve said that multiple times now, but it’s so true. All that time you spent on the daily team, working on planning that fourth weekly and then the coding of the actual project; it was just so much work and you excellently handled everything. Plus all your help with the backup sorting! I could never have done it without your spreadsheet smarts and the time you spent making them. And we definitely need to play battleship sometime! Sorry that I keep postponing ksjfdh— I will definitely beat you of course
Zura— ZURA your among us character is so cool :0 but that aside thank you for everything you did this session, both on the daily team and as a camper in my cabin! You helped keep the Mythians energetic and enthusiastic, and you wrote so much this month it’s insane. I know toward the end of making the last weekly you pitched in a lot which was really important and I appreciate it
Lio— Lioo you did awesome work on the daily team in addition to being a leader for the brand new cabin, which was really cool! Thank you for everything you did this session
you really helped make it what it was and I appreciate all of your effort. It was awesome to get to work with you for the month and I hope to talk more in the future
To the MBC:
The memory book is such a wonderful part of camp, and you all make it possible! Thank you so much for the work you’ve done designing, collecting data, and preserving our best moments. I know that this session’s memory book will be such a joy to look through and I’m very excited <33
To the Postscript Committee:
Thank you for bearing with me! I know it hasn’t been the most effective first session but I appreciate the enthusiasm you all had for the project and I hope we’ll be able to change and improve the idea more in our future sessions. I’m excited to get it done and release the project <3
To the sorting team:
To be honest I’m not sure which of you did a lot of sorting— but you snapped up those signups so quickly, so props to you! We couldn’t run camp without you, and I’m thankful that I didn’t have to input 466 camper forms by myself. You made all the recording go smoothly, which made my sorting job a bit easier. I really appreciate your willingness to help out and work carefully so that everything was written down correctly.
To my cabin leaders:
What a session! You two have been so enjoyable to work with and I’m proud of everything we created in the cabin. Your activity and encouragement of the campers is what kept Myth going and brought us into such a successful month. You’re both brilliant and creative people and I’m absolutely hoping to see you leading again in the future <3
Moss— Moss, leading with you has been such an incredible experience. From the moment I saw your leader app I was excited to see what you’d come up with as a leader and you absolutely delivered. Your creativity in crafting a cabin was off the charts and I know we worked so well together. And leading a cabin to victory on your first bout— that’s tough. I have no idea how many people have pulled it off, but I know I never got close in my first few hehe! Thank you for giving me an incredible experience as a co-leader and I hope to see you in many more sessions <33
Re— Re! It was so fun to work with you in Myth this month. I loved the fresh ideas you brought to the table and your Maze days were really interesting— they were so fun to read
You encouraged our campers so much but also did everything you could to make sure they prioritized themselves; that’s such an important quality in a cabin co/leader and I was so happy to see it. I hope you’ll keep leading in the future! I think you’ll do a great job as a leader, if you ever choose to apply.
To the other leaders:
Camp could not exist without you all. No matter where your cabin ends up in the rankings, you’ve done something you should be proud of. Leading is a really difficult job, and something that can feel both incredibly draining and quite rewarding. Thank you for all of your work this session! To be honest, I did mean to write individual notes to a lot of you but I was so low on time and high on procrastination today. Everyone who helped to lead a cabin is amazing and should be very proud of what they’ve accomplished
To my lovely campers:
Oh my goodness. You thirty-two Mythians wrote so much this session; earned so many points; you’re one of the most amazing groups of people I’ve ever met. Thank you for your kindness, determination, and hard work in bringing us to the top! All you’ve achieved so far is no easy feat. Whether or not we come in first place at the end of this, I’m so proud of everything you’ve accomplished. Once a Myth Tyrant, always a Myth Tyrant!! I apologize that I didn’t find the time to write to all of you individually— I would have loved to but I am quite tired </3 Quick shoutout to Ayid, with an amazing 195 favor! Very well done on having the most favor of all the campers; and more congratulations are in order to all the High Mythians: Ayid, CJ, Zura, Nights, and our honorary cabin member Zai
To the Thrillians:
Thank you for the wonderful rivalry we shared this month. It was so fun to compete with you and it really made the session memorable. Though we’re quite high above you in words and points alike, never doubt the skill of the writers among you
Good luck in the writing competition and the results— may the best tyrant win!
(the best tyrants are us <33)

Just wrapping these up; I have six minutes to go, so I unfortunately can’t write more notes! Sorry about that— but I love you all and appreciate everything you’ve done for SWC <33

You walk through the doors of the library, glancing at the shelves. One book catches your eye—a bright green spine with shimmering silver letters: Tales from Oz.
Tentatively, you take out the book and as you stare at the cover, you think it might’ve been glowing. But then it was a normal book again. Books don’t glow, silly, you tell yourself. Staring down at the cover, there’s three characters from the story scattered on it, smiling.
You almost laugh at the cover. It was odd how you were drawn to this book, and now you didn’t really want to read it. You start to put it back in the shelf, but something stops you. You flip open the book, a nod a golden light is washed over you.
Suddenly, you’re falling, and you hit the ground hard. Groaning, you get up and blink your eyes. Then you gasp. Because all around you can’t be real. A golden brick road. A giant green city.
Someone grabs your arm and helps you up. “You must be lost.”
As you straighten, you stare up at the person. She looks oddly familiar, with a light blue dress and two braids of auburn hair. She appears to be holding a scruffy black dog. “Where am I?” You ask.
“Why, you’re in Oz, of course!”
