Make the forums stop using Imageshack for pictures
Recently I made an imageshack account because I wanted to post a picture to these forums. When you try using an image service other than that, it gives you this message: “Sorry, you need to host your images with a service like imageshack.com. Please update your image links or remove all BB code img tags. Bad image url:”
Anyways, I didn't want to make it but I was basically forced to, otherwise I couldn't upload any pictures. I don't think scratch should be forcing people to create imageshack accounts. Here's the real kicker:
After 30 days, imageshack stops letting you upload pictures at all without paying for it. I'm not sure why this forum only takes imageshack pictures, but this is the worst image host. It's time for a change, imageshack isn't what it used to be anymore. It's a pain to use, and the free trial only lets you do so much. Not to mention it fights you for the direct image links that you need to put on the forum (as in it pretty much tries to hide them, so you have to rightclick the picture and make your browser get the url for you). I think we should switch to imgur.com (or if not that, then some other one). Imgur is free indefinitely, easy to upload to, and you don't need to sign up. You can even upload something on your pasteboard directly without needing to create an image on your computer.

And what about the people who's parents don't allow them to make accounts for things like that?! That is a much better idea. You do realise there are other hosts you can use?
Support to change the message to suggest a different host (cubeupload is best, it is free and you don't have to sign up), and link to the topic about it.

Well it's not like you can't put graphic or obscene images onto imageshack or tinypic. Imgur also doesn't allow * or too mature content on the main site, so you couldn't find it unless you were specifically looking. That stuff just gets deleted as fast as they can find it, and I'm pretty sure imgur has a lot more people overseeing it than the other sites. I'm not suggesting to ban tinypic or anything, just that adding imgur to the list wouldn't be such a bad thing. Tinypic can be the “main” one that replaces imageshack in that error message, but imgur is very fast and convenient.I believe imgur isn't allowed because it's Terms of Service don't prevent obscene or graphic imagesother hosts you can use?Photobucket requires you to sign up too. Tinypic is bad, imageshack is bad, photobucket is bad. It's time to make a few changes around here
Yes, there are multiple topics about this. Maybe if an admin comes around to close some of them, they might actually read one though

Even though Imgur can have mature content, so can the other sites, so I support.

If you support, it should be +1. If you don't, it should be +0, not -1. If you half-support, it should be +1/2 or +0.5, not +0. You can't subtract from the supporters.

Support. Basically a ripoff for ST to force you to pay to upload images.

Well… there goes another image host! xD they're all bananas, and they're all turning bad.
My suggestion: perhaps the Scratch Team should use cdn.scratch.mit.edu or scratchr2 or something to host images. They already do - but possibly they could be used for forum image uploads. Also maybe there could be a buffer-server, so that images had to be approved before posted on the site. I have some ideas how this could work.
IMO, Imgur is just another banana. In a year or two it's probably going to go bad.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!! And like most of the people disagreed with this idea.
I would agree with @TheHockeyist's Idea. Scratch needs to have its own image hosting sites.
Support overall

Uh, please don't misquote people like that, especially when it is concerning a site like Tinypic, really for sure you don't want to be responsible for giving somebody a computer virus because they thought you recommended a bad site like Tinypic…

Could someone explain what is going on here in these quotes here ^^^^^?
I am having a hard time thinking about what it means.
PS Merry Christmas!
