Letter Disappearance

A long while ago, a badger layed on a rock, looking for a bird. A bird who would bring hope for him.
Our badger raised his head, happiness in his eyes. Our bird had given him hope, hope for a good life.
Our badger cried in hopelessness, our bird, his sign of hope, being gone and never seen again. He had loved our bird, for she had given him hope.
Our bird said, “Go my badger, go do amazing junk because I am giving you hope here and now and forevermore. Please, do junk for me. I beg of you, go. You may go now.” And our bird flew away, waking our badger up from his slumber.
Our badger replied, “No, please, you have knowledge, I know you do! Please, whisper me some knowledge of my dream. Please, I beg of you!” No, our duck never did whisper knowledge of our badger's dream, and he never will. Sad, I know. Our badger and duck became enemies. No knowledge, no friendship.
A person was small, a dwarf, she seemed. She was small, yes, even so she was bigger compared by our badger, and she had a mischievous grin on her face, a grin which said no one is allowed in her mind, for special junk was being saved. And even so, our badger managed a good face, looking our dwarf in her eyes.

Ambiguity

Vague- 313 words
Marilyn and Arthur stood on the steps of Enzo's Restaurant, holding hands. It was nine pm. The stars were out and it was dark. But even for it being dark, the city of New York was bustling with activity.

“Call me a taxi, please, darling,” Marilyn told Arthur.

“Darling, that's an odd request, but alright. You are a taxi,” Arthur told Marilyn. It was an odd request indeed.

“No! I meant hail a taxi for me. I need a ride home, silly.”

“Oh! Oh, ha! Of course, darling. I'm sorry, I've been so hard of hearing since the bark hit me.”

“What bark? How does a dog bark hit you? That's… that's… that's insane!”

“No, no, no! The tree bark, from when I went camping, remember? It hit my ear and some of it got into, causing damage. Now we've both made a mistake.” Arthur smiled.

“When did you go camping? And where?”

“By the bank, darling, remember? I told you this.”

“But you told me a long time ago. And how do you get hit by bark at the bank? There are no trees there!”

"No, the river bank, not the money bank. Silly girl,“ Arthur finished, shaking his head in disbelief and disappointment. Marilyn froze.

”What did you just call me? Did you call me silly!? I most certainly am not! I just didn't understand you, that's all! I'm not silly!“

”Well, maybe you aren't, but a lot of other girls are! I mean, who doesn't understand what a bank means?“

This was the final straw. Marilyn gripped her purse hard, leaving fingernail imprints in it.

”And now you're being sexist!“

”So. What.“

Marilyn smacked him with her purse and stormed off, yelling over her shoulder, ”I hate you, Arthur! I'm breaking up with you. Never- and I mean never- talk to me again!"

Maddie ran around the house in a tank top and shorts, out of breath, pushing her long, brown hair out of her eyes.

“Mom? Have you seen my clothes?” She called out.

“What piece?” Her mom called back.

“That one thing called a shirt.”

“What color?”

“Sky blue with a hint of lilac purple, you know this!”

“What size?”

“Extra, extra large! It looks like a dress on me!”

“And what's that in letters?”

Maddie sighed. “XXL.”

“What are the sleeves, long, short, medium? Or are there any?”

“Yes there are sleeves! Short sleeves, it's a-”

“What kind of shirt is it?”

“A T-shirt! I was just about to tell you this before you cut me-”

“How much did it cost?”

“How am I supposed to remember?”

“Answer me!”

“Twenty or thirty!”

“What currency?”

“Dollars! American! American dollars! Now are you done interrogating me?”

“Nope. What is it made of?”

“What is what made of? The money?”

“No, you dingus, the shirt!”

“Cotton?”

“Is that a yes cotton or a no cotton?”

“Yes! It's a yes! Now where is it?”

“Where did you buy it? And stop snapping at me!”

“I'm only snapping at you because I can't find it! I bought it at Target in Roseville, Minnesota. Where we live, you know. And where you work.”

“Yes, yes I know. How many times has it been washed? And has it been washed with hot or cold, with soap or without, and when did you last wash it?”

“Mom, I'm done with these questions! I'm coming to find you!” Maddie stormed into the living room to find her mom drinking champagne while wearing her shirt. “Mom. That's my shirt!”

“Oh, I was asking you questions to see if it was. I'm going to use it for the day, got it? Now run along now.”

“I need it!”

“No, now go.”

Maddie stomped out of the room, shrieking in anger. She was going to plot payback. She went to her mom's room and took her nicest dress. Maddie then spilled grape juice all over it, the once white, silky dress turning red and disgusting.

“There. Take that, mom.”

It was now war.

Fourth of July

Oh, it's the fourth of July
Oh, it's the fourth of July

But do you know what this day is for?
Do you know or do you know?

It's the fourth of July

The fourth of July
Celebrates our independence
From Great Britain
And it's rule

The way we celebrate this
Is
By

Fireworks,
Picnics,
Parades,
Concerts,
Barbeques,
Boom, boom, boom

Now you know about the fourth of July
And honor all those who fought for our freedom

About Monarchflutter

If Monarchflutter was leader, she'd choose Agaricpaw or Lovekit (yes, a kit) to be leader. Agaricpaw and her have never gotten along, being frenemies for ever and ever more. Monarchflutter wants to make up all the mean things she's done to Agaric, so she'd make her leader. Probably a bad choice, seeing as Agaric is kind of evil, as Monarchflutter would say, but she would still choose them. Lovekit would be because Monarchflutter thinks highly of the kit and how the kit handles things. Monarch would say that every kit deserves a chance, and would also take pity on the kit due to Lovekit being non-clanborn like Monarch. Monarchflutter would not choose Otterchase, seeing as they both are pretty mean and rude to each other and lets not forget about how Monarch has bad experiences with deputies (looking at you, Fenwhistle and Otterchase. Traumatized as a kit and new apprentice by both of them /j /lh /nm) so now she pretty much despises all leaders and deputies (aka the government of the clans). She does not d3spise medicine cats, seeing as one of her friends is one (Sea-snake) and her (adopted) grandma is one. Or she would choose Milkysplash, Sea-snake or Seal to be leader. She likes all of them and trusts them, although they haven't interacted too much. Anyway, that's my Ted Talk. I was bored and also need words for SWC. /lh

Proverb
“you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink”

It was a hot day.
Everyone in the city was sweating.
Everyone in the town was sweating.
Everyone in the house was sweating.
Everyone on the farm in the country was sweating. They were sweating the most, working hard to get crops and animals watered. But of course, there was one horse that would not drink.

"Oh come on, Poseidon, you're supposed to be named after the greek god of the sea. It means you have to drink this water!“ Philip scowled. No matter what he tried, Poseidon would not drink the water, and by the looks of it, was very dehydrated.

The old horse was close to dying after all these many years. He was older than Philip, and Philip was 27. Poseidon was 29. Philip loved the old horse and did everything he possibly could to make sure the horse didn't die, feeding him the best diet and exercising him as much as possible.

Philip's father hobbled over to him. He'd lost his left foot in a tractor accident years ago. Ever since, Philip had taken over the farm and all of the duties that came with it. He'd worked hard, revamping the farm and making it better than ever before.

”Son, you can give water to a horse but you can't make it drink,“ Philip's father told him.

”That's not how the saying goes, father,“ Philip responded, rolling his eyes.

”I don't care, boy. You know that my memory is a-failing me. I try, son, I try. But it's still true, nonetheless.“

Philip sighed in defeat. The old man had beat him once again by playing the bad memory card.

”Yeah, father, I know. But maybe you need to try harder?“

”Boy, don't argue with me. You cannot get a horse to drink no matter if you lead it to water or not.“

”Fine, father, fine.“

”Fine!“

”Fine!

“Goodbye, son. Off I go to the store,” Philip's father began hobbling away.

“Be safe, dad. Be safe.”

Horoscopes- Capricorn

Indigo was pacing her room, trying not to look at her homework. She didn't really want to do it, it was boring, it was a lab report. Why did they even have to do one of those anyways? They'd already done the lab. They didn't need to still write about it! Wait, she had to do her laundry, that's right! That's what she needed to do, not a lab report!

Indigo stormed out of her room and down to the basement where the washing machine was located. She shoved the clothes from the washer into the dryer forcefully. Stupid Mr.Callington, making them do a lab report in the weekend! What was the point of it anyways? The wet clothes made droplets of water fall from her fingers and onto the ground. Indigo had had enough of this nonsense, having to do homework on the weekend. Couldn't the students get a break for once? A mental health break, perhaps?

Indigo knew where Mr. Callington lived, he had a study group that she attended, so why couldn't she go and confront him? Yeah, she would confront him! She stomped up the steps to the garage, snatched her keys, got in her car and drove.

When Indigo got to Mr. Callington's house, she marched up to the door and hesitated. Should she knock? Yes, but no. What to do, what to do. She raised her hand and knocked on the door before she could change her mind. She waited a minute for the door to open and when it did, Mr Callington had a surprised look on his face.

“Indigo, what a surprise. Nice to see you, but why are you here?”

Indigo took a deep breath. “I-I need to talk to you about something.”

“Of course, come in, come in.”

Indigo walked into the living room, a musty smell filling her nose. It was comforting, in a way.

"Mr. Callington, can we please not do anymore lab reports over the weekends? We all need breaks for our mental- and physical!- health.“

”Long answer or short answer?“

”Um, short.“

”Okay, well, the short answer is no.“

”Wh-what? Why?“

”Because I have all rights to assign homework on weekends. I already have assigned you guys enough to do on the weekdays, so we can't move it then.“

”No… I was thinking more of… not doing it at all?“

”You mean… skipping it? No, no. We have finals really soon, so no. Final answer. Now leave, I have plans tonight.“

”But Mr. Callington, please!“

”No, Indigo. That's my answer and it's my final answer. Now leave before I call the police on you for trespassing on my property.“

”But you invited me in!“

”So I did, but now I am telling you to leave. So leave.“

”No! I will not! I'm taking a stand for all of us with mental illnesses. We deserve to be fought for, after all. Darn it, Mr. Callington! Let us have a break. Mental illnesses hurt, you know! They really do. So help us. Please."

Song: Cloud 9

translated lyrics - summary

XI don't want to see what I'm doing - I hate my job, I hate seeing myself do it.
XBut I believe when I'm with you - But I like doing it with you
XAll I've heard lately is negativity and weakness - Everyone in my family is mean about my job
Xi'm tired of pushing shoes - My job is pushing shoes into tight containers and shipping them
XBut if he needs me, I think I'll float - But if you need me I'll float along to you on excitement
XI look like a when she says I'm pretty - I look old when she calls me pretty
XEven if we mix the last one to the end - If we mix the foods until the end of the party
Xyou will always be my love - I will always love you
XTime begins to fall from the sky - A clock fell on my head
Xyou warned me to get up - You told me to get up
XI feel like I'm dead now - I feel dead, I don't want to get up
Xbut give me a new life - So help me
XBut if he likes me, I think I'll float away - But if you like me, I don't like you anymore
XI feel like another person when she says I'm pretty - When she says I'm pretty I feel different
XIt doesn't matter when we get to the end - It doesn't matter when we finish our shift
Xyou will always be my love - I will still love you
XBut if they love me, I think I'll float - And if she loves me back, I'll float my way to her
XWhen they call me beautiful, I feel like a - When she calls me beautiful, I feel like I belong
XI don't care if it ends up being dull - I don't care if work gets boring
Xyou will always be my love - I will always love you

Life

I groaned silently as I entered Shooing the Shoes, the store I worked at. It was a dump. I hated it, I really did. It looked like trash and smelled even worse.

But then I placed my eyes on the cutest boy there was and my view of work turned upside down. His dark, wavy hair shined in the dull lights of the store. His eyes sparkled as he smiled at me. My heart beat faster as he nodded a hello to me. His name was James. He made showing up to work in this trash hole worth it. He made it bearable.

No one in my family likes the job I have. I like it, although it doesn't pay a lot. I mainly like it because I get to see James.

The job I have at Shooing Shoes is pushing shoes into containers and shipping them off to who knows where all over the country. It's fine, I guess.

When James calls my name I feel like I'm floating as I walk over to him. My heart starts fluttering and a smile grows on my face as I blush.

And then Emma calls my name. She's another one of my fellow employees. I'm older than her, but only by a day. You might think that we'd be best friends, being a day apart. But no, we were just people who worked together.

I've known Emma and James since we mixed together every single food at a party a few years back- not that we're friends. We just pulled a huge prank and that was that.

Ever since that I've liked James. Like, like-like James.

I stared at him while I walked towards the delivery room with the shoes. I stared at him a tad bit too long and walked right into a shelf, making a clock fall off and hitting my head. I gasped in pain, dropping all the containers and clutching my head.

James frowned at me and walked past, telling me to stand up. Come on, you're fine. He kicked me, telling me to get up.

I whimpered as he walked away. He wasn't who I thought he was. He was mean and cruel.

Help me I cried towards him. He didn't hear me, or pretended not to.

A few days later, he came over to me. I'm sorry. He said. I ignored him and walked away. I didn't want to face him. I didn't want to see him.

Hey, you look good today. Emma says to me. I smile and nod a thanks. My heart started beating faster. What was this?

I wave to Emma, a pang of sadness in my heart as I watch her go. What was this?

Did I… like her? I thought about this for a long time after my shift.

The next day I had made up my mind. If she liked me and made a move, I wouldn't say no.

You look gorgeous today, Emma tells me. I blush and say thanks.

Work was boring and just plain ‘ugh’ as usual, but Emma made it better.

I knew that she was mine and that I would love her.

The Terrible Fate
TW: blood, murd3r, d3ath

Blood dripping from my fingers
I ran
Far far far away
From the mess I had made
The blood that had splattered on the ground
From the mess I had made

It wasn't pretty
The mess that I had made

It was disgusting
The mess that I had made

No one wanted to go near it
And no one did
Not even
The police officers
Who were supposed to be
Looking at the scene of the crime

They called in on their radios
Saying
Everything is fine here.

But it wasn't fine.

It was dark.

It was sad.

There was no hope.

I ran faster and faster away
From the mess that I had made

It wasn't good
It was sad

But someone guilty had just lost their life
And I had done that
They had asked me to

Was it good that I had done this
I did not know
And I did not plan to find out

As I ran
Tears trickled down my cheeks

I sobbed
I didn't want to do it
But he had made me

He didn't want to do it himself
And no one else would do it for him
So he asked me

And I said
Yes

It was sad
He knew what was going to happen
When I showed up to his house
But he didn't care
He wanted to end it

End all the horrible things
He had done

He deserved what he got.

Boom
TW: death, destruction

Listen to my words
I am about to tell you
A very important story
About
Love
Death
And destruction

As all goes boom
I live
As all fades to black
I thrive
As all life becomes extinguished
I am reborn

The power plant
It exploded
Killing millions
And leaving the rest
Of us
With powers

Special powers
That include
Flying
Super strength
Invisibility
Talking to animals
Shape shifting

All of us together formed a group

We call ourselves

The Last Survivors

We fight away the monsters
That have appeared since the
Power plant exploded

We protect the survivors
Who don't have powers
It is a sad job
Don't get me wrong
But it must be done

Splash

With a flap of my tail
I dash through the water
It was almost time
Time to see him

Hi
I'm Ari
A mermaid
A descendant of Ariel
Yes, that's right
Ariel

You've probably heard of her from
All of those movies she's been in
The Little Mermaid

I'm her granddaughter
No one special
And she made sure of that

Any reporters who visited Atlantica
Were sent away

Ariel wasn't nice
She hated other mermaids
Trying to steal the spotlight from her

So no one knew about me
Or my father
Or my sister

Rest in peace, Ava.
She was my sister
But she died
No one knows why
Or how

One day
She was found dead
In her bed

And to think I was sharing
That room with her
When she died

The medics said
It was a natural death
Everyone believes them
I don't

I think that
My grandma
Ariel
Found out the plot
That Ava
Had planned

Ava had planned
To go to the real world
And tell everyone
The truth about Ariel

And now here I was
Going to the real world

But for a different reason than Ava

I had a lover

I loved him
I did

His name is Henry

I met him on a boat
When he went fishing one day

I said hi to him
And now we see each other
Secretly

I don't tell him anything
And he doesn't tell anyone anything

We're perfect for each other

I sneak out to see him often
And I never get caught

Out of This World
418
Words: alien, mouse, steam, steal, stead

The alien exited its spaceship, excitement in its eyes. It had never been to Earth before. It was exciting, being on Earth.

And then something emerged from the bushes! The alien locked eyes with it, panicking. What would the creature do? Would it attack?

But no, it was just a mouse. It couldn't do any harm to anyone.

Until it jumped up and bit the alien. The alien hadn't even take a step away from the spaceship!

The alien yelped and hissed at the mouse, glaring at it, too. Earth wasn't the best place to be. So far. Maybe better things would come of it? Or maybe not. Who knew? Not our alien. Our alien most certainly did not know. Not one bit of knowledge.

So mice were mean. But so far that was the only bad thing about Earth. Better things would come, they just had to!

The alien stormed off, blowing off steam. It looked around in awe at the quiet corn field it had landed in. It was amazing in the alien's perspective. This would be a good place for it's colony to settle, it just had to be!

Since it was in the corn field, maybe the alien could steal some corn? To bring back as a sample for its colont. The colony needed to know if food was availible on this planet! They thought so, after seeing humans eat stuff, but what if it was poisonous to aliens? What would happen then? Yeah, yeah, that's what it would do! The alien would steal some food! To bring back to it's colony! THen every alien would love it and praise it for its findings.

It exited the corn field, a grin on its face. It would save its colony and would be known as the saviour.

As the alien got through the last row of corn, a loud noise came from something.

NEIGH!

It was a stead! It could crush the alien easily, so it had to be careful. But the stead was coming- and fast! It ran towards the alien, grunting and glaring at it for entering the horse's territory.

The alien screeched and ran back to it's spaceship, panicking. Its eyes were filled with terror as it scrambled up the ramp. It pressed a button and the ramp lifted.

The mission was a failure. No food was gained and the planet was not good for a colony of aliens.

The alien hung its head low and returned to its own dying planet.

SWC Weekly 2- Newspaper

Part 1- 822 words

This just in! Here I am outside Myth Cabin where things are getting crazy! The Myth Campers want a mascot- more specifically, one called George the Unicorn! But George the Unicorn is not a unicorn after all! He's a beast- something you only find in your worst nightmares. He's made up of tons of mythical creatures, too many to count!

The Myth Campers found out that the Thriller Campers have a mascot- Harry the Cabybara. Myth Campers were outraged that Moss, their leader, hadn't given them one. They raided Moss' profile, demanding that they got a mascot, too! After all, they were in the lead. They pleaded with Moss, telling her things along the lines of:
They would take care of him
They would do all of their weeklies and dailies
They would feed him
They would hug him
They would love him
They would win Scratch Writing Camp July 2022 (which is quite obvious that they're going to)

Eventually, Moss was convinced! This was a win for everyone, Myth and non-Myth.

The Mythians had received help in their campaign for a mascot from themselves, both co-leaders, and even non-Mythians! Can you believe that? Their enemies, neutrals, and allies helped them get a mascot! Their enemies!

Imagine working to acheive something for your enemy! I would never do that!

This was a good day in Myth Cabin- and not just because of George the Unicorn.

They were in first with over one hundred thousand points! And it was only the first week of SWC! Over one hundred thousand points. That's a one followed by five zeros! Five zeros!

They were far ahead of everyone else, their total doubling and tripling some of the other cabin's point count.

They knew that they would win.

They knew that whatever happened, they would be winners in their hear-

Oh? New news alert! Alert alert!

Moss has put up suggestions of what creatures to combine to make George the Unicorn! Go vote now, Mythians! Go go go! I want to know what gets chosen! After all, I /am/ a reporter. I'm also the writer of this article because the power went out and we can't record anything so we're using paper and pencils! So old fashioned! And because you don't get to know what exactly is going on like you would when it was live TV, I'm writing down every new and interesting thing that happens how it would happen if we were live! Which we're not because of the power.

Anyways, back to better news!

Cabin wars started yesterday and lasted the day! Because that's how they work.

Nobody warred Myth too much, due to the fact that Birdi was telling them not to. But someone from Myth Cabin, Iris, I believe, kept telling people to war Myth! She wanted to be warred and she wanted to write. She told everyone to war them! And Myth won every single war they were given. And completed all of the extra challenges, too! It was an exciting race to succeed and write the words, knowing very well that they would do it in only a couple of hours.

They've been very successful so far this session, so keep up the good work, Myth!

Yeah, us here at SWC News cheer for Myth. Woo, Myth for the win!

Now let's talk about the hosts for Scratch Writing Camp this year. Birdi and Robin, two birds who are leading SWC along with some other co-hosts whose names we have forgotten. What? We can't know everything!

Our two birds, Robin and Birdi, are also being a leader and co-leader for two cabins!
Robin is being a co-leader of Myth Cabin, while Birdi is the leader of Thriller Cabin. The very Thriller that has a mascot! How can one host's cabin have a mascot while the other's doesn't? It doesn't work like that! Let's fix this injustice!

But back to talking about Myth Cabin because they're the best.
Myth Cabin's theme is ‘Myth Maze’, an amazing theme, might I add. They have four main colors, a light tan, a darker tan, a green, and a purple. The leader is Moss, a mage, and her co-leaders are Re, a warrior, and Robin, one of the hosts and a bard.

I, personally, feel like a bard, so I'm cheering for them! Although, they're all on one team as they venture through the Myth Maze. But in all seriousness, bards are amazing. They can play music, they have instruments, some of them can shoot darts with their instruments! It's amazing, the bards. But warriors have awesome weapons and mages have super cool spells! If I were to tell you what to join, I'd say bards, hands down.

Signing off now. Go Myth and good luck with George the Unicorn! Thank you to Birdi and Robin for this amazing session!

Goodbye and see you next time on Scratch Writing Camp News!

Part 2- 806 words
Imagine that you're thriteen. Going through middle school is hard, right? But what about going through middle school when everything that can go wrong, will, whenever you're around. That's a little thing called ‘Murphy’s Law'. Murphy's Law states that whatever can go wrong, will.

Hi there! And welcome back- or welcome to- Iris' Reviews of All Sorts! But if that name is too long for you, IRoAS for short! Here, I review all sorts of TV shows, movies, and books, plus podcasts and even videos! Don't forget to like this post and follow me on all social media platforms! I'm on Instagram, Facebook, Youtube- although I don't post there very much-, Tik Tok, Twitter, and even this coding website for kids. I think it's called Scratch or something like that? It's cool, but I feel like there's a dark side to it? Here's how things work here: I make a video or article about a show, and then you get to read or watch it, depending on the platform I post it on. Enjoy you're stay!

Anywho, today I'll be reviewing Milo Murphy's Law, a Disney Channel show

Here's what I'll go over:
- Summary and history of the show
- People in it
- What could have been done better
- Age recommendation and recommendations
- My rating

Summary
Milo Murphy's Law is about a kid named Milo Murphy. All the men in his family have Murphy's Law. Now, I know I said this before, but just a little reminder that Murphy's Law states “If something bad can happen, it will.” Milo has two friends, Zach Underwood and Melissa Chase. The trio faces all sorts of trouble that comes from Murphy's Law.

History of the Show
Milo Murphy's Law premiered for the first time on Disney XD, October 3, 2016. It's latest new episode aired May 18, 2019, although you can still watch reruns of the show on the DIsney Channel. This show was created by Dan Povenmire, famous for voicing Doofenshmirtz on Phineas and Ferb, and also being one of the two creators of Phineas and Ferb.

While we're talking about Phineas and Ferb, there are several easter eggs in Milo Murphy's Law about Phineas and Ferb, such as teal platypus pajamas and a roller coaster falling from the sky. There's even an hour-long special that features the Phineas and Ferb gang in Milo Murphy's Law. This is season 2 episode 1.

Milo Murphy's Law ran for two seasons so far, with no confirmation that there will be more. It has forty episodes, each about twenty minutes long.

People in it
Milo Murphy is played by ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, alongside with Sabrina Carpenter as Melissa Chase and Mekai Curtis as Zach Underwood.

What Could Have Been Done Better
I think that they could have put morals of the episodes and this would have given the episodes more meaning to them. It would also teach kids good lessons about life.

I also think that instead of splitting the episode into two parts, they could have done one episode per story.

Another thing is having a plot. There was a small plot, yes, but nothing big. Audiences love big plots, and without one, a show goes down in rating.

Age Recommendations and Recommendations
I would say that anyone at the age of eight and up can watch this. I'm way older than eight, but I still love it. Anyone younger than eight wouldn't understand it and it'd be confusing, and we don't want confusion!

I recommend that you watch Milo Murphy's Law if you've watched and liked Phineas and Ferb, Big City Greens, The Ghost and Molly McGee, Johnny Test, Twelve Forever, Teen Titans Go and Walk the Prank.

If you like comedy, family fun, and chaos, then this is the show for you!

My Rating
While most reviews rate this show a 4.6/5, I rate Milo Murphy's Law a 4.8/5. My reasons for this are below.
- It's a show I will never grow out of. I love it and it carries on characteristics of Phineas and Ferb that I miss, although I could just watch Phineas and Ferb.
- It's a show my siblings and I always agree on when we watch it- and this rarely ever happens. It unites me and my siblings and that is impressive.
- It does the impossible. It keeps me and my siblings on the couch until the very end, and that's not an easy task.

For me and my siblings to agree on anything and watch a show to the end without complaining is near impossible, and yet Milo Murphy's Law does that. All in all, you should definitely watch it! I highly recommend you watch it, whether or not you like the shows I said that if you watched you'd like Milo Murphy's Law.

Part 3- 517 words (not including questions & usernames)
what do i do if my crush is dating someone? or what do i do if my friends dumped me?
-@Music_Panda_99

Hiya! Oof, that sucks. I've dealt with similar situations like this in my life before, so let's see if I can help you! My love life has been complicated. From my friends teasing me about who I liked, to them calling even me talking to someone flirting. I'm fed up with it, of course, but all of the teasing has helped me learn something. It helped me grow out of my crushes faster. It's also made me begin questioning several things about myself. But one of the most important things that this teasing has taught me is that love isn't fair. You might like a person and they might like you back. Or they like someone else, which sucks, but then it's like, whatever! I have many, many, many other chances! That's the point I'm trying to get across by telling you this, at least for your first question. You have a gazillion other chances to get a boyfriend/girlfriend/*insert gender neutral term for girl/boyfriend here*. Don't let one failure hold you back.

As for your second question, were they ever really your friends? Think about it. Did they always include you in everything, or did they leave you out? Were they really all that nice to you? Are they what you want from a friend? Ask yourself these questions and think about them. Being dumped by friends is really horrible, but you get over it. Like I said before, you have a gazillion other chances to make new friends and get new friends. Don't have your friends set in stone for the rest of your life. Live life loosely and if they want to be your friends, great! If they don't, it's their loss! You're probably a really great person, and whatever they don't like about you, well, they're insane. Would real friends treat you this way? I hope this helps!

All the mangoes at the grocery store were unripe and I'm not sure I can wait until tomorrow to have mangoes! What should I do?
-@i_like_kotlc

(Please don't take offense from this- this is a fake response I have written) Be. Patient. Patience is a key element to have in your life. Yes! We all love mangoes. But are mangoes better than patience? No. Mangoes hold you back from doing what you want to do, as all of your focus goes to them and not the task you're supposed to be doing! They are a key to procrastination which will help /no one/ win Scratch Writing Camp! Forget about mangoes, okay? Forget about them! You can wait and be patient like the rest of us, or, heck, eat an unripe mango! Unripe mangoes are good, too! All everyone ever thinks about is ripe mangoes, but ripe mangoes were once unripe! They are the exact same thing, after all! Unripe mangoes might be harder and less sweet than ripe mangoes, but they are still good! Unripe Mango Appreciation!!!

AHH! My schedule is so busy that I barely have time to help my team in SWC? What should I do?
-@Emma201112y
Oh no! Try to help when you can, and if you can't, that's alright! Remember, life > SWC (sadly). Do what you think is best for yourself, and if that means dropping out of SWC this session, then do it. It's a sad choice, yes, but your life is more important than SWC.

Part 4- 203 words

A Dark Room

Sasha was sitting tied up in a chair, gagged. The chair was in a dark room, you couldn't see a thing. But if you could see, you'd see a creaky old chair that was taped up with lots of silver duck tape. It creaked when you sat in it and it creaked when Sasha moved around.

The old chair was dark brown, covered with dust, mold, and rot. Plus quite a few bugs, both dead and alive, smushed on the back of it. It was old, definitely, and it was a rocking chair. It had multiple cracks in it, and the duck tape was barely holding it together.

The room that this old chair was in was pitch black, but once again I say that if you could see in it, you'd see a door leading to a balcony. A balcony where the dutchess of Pennieting was murdered. She was pushed over the balcony railing, landing on the rocks below. The doors used to be white and gold, but were now grey and dirty.

In a corner, there lay a pink, musty stuffed bunny. It was missing one, black button eye. But that button eye was held in the dutchess' hand when she fell and faced that terrible death.

On the main wall, there was what once was an elegant fireplace. It looked more like a pile of bricks than the fireplace it had once been, warming up this small cottage. A fire used to be able to be lit in the fireplace, but not anymore. There was not much you could do to light a fire on a pile of bricks, stones, dust, and mortar.

Any once gold and white doors were now grey and rusted, covered in a thick layer of dust. They were boarded up with splintering boards of wood and rusted nails.

Water or food that was in this cottage was covered in mold and musty. Don't eat it- you'd get very sick.

Sasha tried to move around in the chair, attempting to free herself from the rope that tied her hands. There was no luck for her, it was tied very tightly in a knot. The rope scraped Sasha's wrists, giving her rug burn

In the girl's mouth was an old, dirty cloth. It was close to suffocating her. At least, it was very hard to breathe. The cloth was on old dish rag from the sink in the corner of the cottage. A sink filled with mold and sitting water. Bugs swarmed around the sink, feasting on the disgusting looking water. Sasha would definetly get sick from having the dish rag in her mouth for so long.

Around Sasha's eyes was a red bandana, one that her captor had worn when he'd kidnapped her. But it was pitch black to Sasha- she wouldn't see anything. Even if she could see through the bandana, it was pointless- no light was shining into the cottage. Not one bit of it. All the windows and doors were boared up.

What would Sasha do to escape this dirty mess?

A Jar of Love

Wes handed me a box. I arched an eyebrow in surprise. We had been dating for a few months now, and giving gifts wasn't our thing. We preferred buying each other dinner over gifts, so to see a box that was wrapped in shining blue paper was a surprise.

“Just- open it. I know we don't do this kind of thing, but I had to. I thought of you immediately when I saw it,” Wes said.

“Well, you should always think of me,” I joked.

I ripped the smooth wrapping paper off of the box, throwing it on the ground. This present was wrapped well. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised, seeing as Wes' job involved wrapping gifts daily. As I peeled away the tape, I set the box upright, staring at it in wonder.

I'd always been imaginative, dreaming up fantasies that would never exist. I didn't know what was in the box but I was excited to find out. Was it new dishes coated in gold? Was it a kitten? A puppy? Or was it just some mean prank? Maybe he put an empty can in the box! I sure hope not. But what could it be?

As I tore open the box, I stared in amazement and excitement at what was inside. In a way, it was a memory inside a glass sphere. I gasped as I picked it up, running my hands over the smooth, cold glass, slightly wincing at the cold of it.

It was a glass sphere filled with seashells, sand, and stones. It had a brown cork topper, keeping everything inside from spilling out. It was beautiful. I stared at it in awe as I held it up to the light coming through the open window. It sparkled and shined in the light, as if it was a jewel.

Me and Wes had met on a beach in Florida. I was a lifeguard and he was a swimmer. On one of my breaks, he offered to buy me ice cream. It being a hot day, I couldn't say no. We walked over together to the ice cream truck. He walked me back to my post when I had to go back to work. I thanked him, smiling. He brushed some smeared ice cream off of my lips.

He visited me every day from then on, either buying me ice cream or bringing me a pretty seashell or stone and just spending time with me. I always gave the seashells back to him and paid him for the ice cream, but he kept doing the same thing every day.

One day, I invited him over to my house. He came and we had dinner together that night. After dinner, we confessed our love to each other.

Back to the present, where I was holding the glass ball of beach items.

“D-Do you like it? I made it myself. It's all of the things I've ever given you. Because- well- you gave them back to me I-If you don't like it, I-I understand I can always take it ba-”

Wes ended his sentence there because I pulled him in for a kiss. A warm, loving kiss. A kiss that meant I would never let him go.

-Magic is used day to day for all sorts of things
-Soft magic system

Connections
The schools colors are black and purple, and the colors of all the houses are black, white, blue, and purple. This is a connection because of the use of the same colors. Another connection that can be made is between the setting, a tundra, and the houses, that are made out of ice. There wouldn’t be much, if any, wood or any other building material, such as bricks, logs, and cement, so they build their houses and buildings out of ice. A connection that can be made is between the four clans and the four magic groups each group of magic is a clan, flying powers, prophetic powers, telekinesis (ability to move objects with your mind), and spells, so your average witch/wizard from Harry Potter. A connection that can be made from these connections is the school, Icelista, and the clans. The school, takes kids from all clans, teaching them how to use their powers and then using them in real life situations for the final exam. This school teaches the kids how to harness and control their powers, kind of like an upside down magic situation if you know that series, with a bit of Harry Potter mixed in.

Narrative
Zara In front of her new school, Icelista. She was the age of 13, the age all kids started going to Icelista, the school that would help them learn to control their powers. It was exciting, yes, but at the same time, scary. She didn’t know anyone.

Zara was the stereotypical introvert– stay inside her icehouse on sunny days, instead of running around and playing like the rest of the kids, she would draw, she wouldn’t attend parties.

Her father was disappointed in her. She kept herself in her room all day, only coming out for dinner. He almost never saw her and any conversations that you had or cut short. He just wanted to know his daughter, but she made this almost impossible.

Zara‘s mother had died only minutes after Sara was born, due to loss of blood. Zara has grown up alone in the cold world. Her father spent most of his time grieving his wife’s loss, but recently I’ve been trying to connect more with Zara. I thought that he was finally done grieving, but wasn’t really that?

As Zara walked through the front door to her new school, a rush of warmth hit her face. She breathed it in color science. She hated the tundra they lived in. It was horrible. It was always freezing, it was almost never warm, and any buildings they owned were built out of ice and snow. At least the houses were fun colors. But at the same time, they were depressing colors. Black, purple, white and blue. Depending on the shade, it can make a good day bad in an instant.

Zara clutched her bag and walked into the warm front hallway. SLAM! She quickly turned around, startled by the noise.

“Ey, icicle, next time, close the front door, will ya?” A brown haired boy called out to her. He smirked while his friends surrounded him chuckling. She didn’t recognize him, but then again, she didn’t recognize anyone.

The hallway was busy and bustling, everyone moving fast, almost as if they were scared of being slow. Zara darted to the far side of the hallway, slamming herself against a locker and squeezing her eyes shut tightly. She hated this, she really did.

“Hey, do… are… are you new here?” A soft voice filled Zara‘s ears. She nodded, opening her eyes and looking at this person. “ I can help you. I just arrived yesterday, but I know pretty much everything already.“ The girl held out her hand to Zara. “I’m Kata, by they way,” she said with a smile.

“Zara,” Zara grinned back. She took Kata’s hand and shook it.

Maybe this was the start of something new.

Part 2- 946 words
How is magic in the world used in the characters every day life? What are the abilities?
145
Magic in the town affects everything, from who can help out the most to who can’t help out as much. I’ll state information about the abilities below.
Flying- Rather self-explanatory. You can fly! Wow! These people are not as flyers and are often found painting things in the building. They are considered the lowest of the four.
Telekinesis- they can move objects with their minds. You can find them cleaning, if they can reach high places with a broom. We are considered the second lowest of the four.
Prophetic- these people can see into the future. They are called ciders. Titers oversee the government and make sure that the actions that are taken aren’t bad. They are considered the second most of the four.
Spells- these people learn curses, spells, and hexes. They are considered the most important of the town.

What are the laws of your world, specifically about magic? Punishment?
99
You don’t talk back to the leader, no matter what you think it’s unfair or unjust. They control everything. If you step out of line and you get tortured, coming back to your work with random bruises, sometimes a splatter blood on your clothes. There are no warnings for this, and if you break this rule too many times, you will be exterminated. As for the rule in Magic, if you’re using your magic in a bad way, it will be taken from you. Other than that, you’re free to use it as much as you’d like.

What is an important symbol of your world?
80
An important symbol of my world would be a dove. A white dog can be seen in posters all over the town, a silent protest to the cruel way that people are treated if they mess up. The government knows about this, oh yes, but they have no evidence to arrest anyone on, so they that it’s fine but if you step out of line and you’re known for having a white dog somewhere, your punishment is worse than everyone else’s.

How can your world magic a character development?
88
The magic in my world can add a character development because of power-hungryness. Characters can and will get hungry for power. They might attack other people to get power that they want. This aids character development and the way that they might learn from their mistakes eventually, although there are no promises. How does characters actions can affect other characters can also cause character development for other characters. Other characters might start a rebellion against this one character, causing them to have a character development of leader ship.

How common is magic, and are all the characters aware they possess it?
91
Magic in my world is very common, with all the characters using it or at least knowing about it. The only ones who wouldn’t have it would be ones who have gotten punished for doing something that the government a.k.a. the mayor thought was bad. The only character in my world you guys didn’t know about it is the mayor’s daughter, who will learn about it as the story goes on. Zara might not know anything now, but she will learn a lot of stuff at her new school about magic.

How can you ensure the magic in your story is realistic, and it’s written as a normal part of your world?
84
I can make sure that magic is realistic in my world by making sure it has a backstory in the town’s history. There will be flashbacks and old manuals that Zara has and finds that will furthermore make my story realistic with the magic in it. I can also make sure the magic is realistic in the way that I don’t suddenly change how the magic works the magic follows a strict structure from the beginning of my story to the end of it.

How is magic viewed in your world?
99
In my world magic is viewed as a blessing, but also as a normal thing. Everyone uses it day to day, and if someone is found flying around or making objects move with your mind or predicting the future, they don’t jump or get scared about that, because it’s normal. The only reason people think that magic is bad is because of the mayor. The mayor uses magic to manipulate his subjects. He makes the ones with the best powers work for him, promising lots and lots of good fortune, when really, he just uses it to manipulate you.

Compared to our modern society, what do characters do differently in your world, now that magic is incorporated?
84
In a modern world, people don’t have magic to help them with tasks. But, in my world, magic is used day today to help with so many tasks and is a part of everyone’s everyday life. They use it to help clean, to repair things, to make sure that they are making good decisions, and protecting themselves from any monsters and outsiders that might come to try and steal their magic. Magic is normal my world and used as often as possible whenever possible.

How is the education system in your world? What do your characters learn?
89
The education in my world is different than the real world. Kids do not go to school starting at age 3, but instead start going to school at age 13. Instead of learning math, literacy, language arts, science and history, instead the students learn how to control their magic and use it safely and win to use it. The normal world does not have magic so it does not need to worry about any of the things that the magic world a.k.a. my world doesn’t need to worry about.

Does magic affect the government of your world? If so, how?
87
Magic makes the government power hungry and horrible to its citizens. Although there is only a mayor, he is still power hungry and rude, plus disrespectful and just cruel to everyone around him. This is because he was born as a flyer and he was always the worst flyer there was. He hated how the education system was ran. He hated school. However, instead of fixing things when he became an irritated, grumpy, power hungry person with no kindness in his heart except for his daughter, Zara.

Part 3- 944 words
Dystopian Fantasy
306
I climbed out of bed and the guard snapped my handcuffs on. Not only were the metal rings on my hands, but they were on my feet, too. My name is Lily. I live in a world where any girls over the age of 10 are taken as slaves. This is because the government didn’t have enough hands to help build supplies for the military, so they recruited young girls instead. We are the government slaves. We do whatever they want whenever they want and we are not allowed to argue back, no matter what. We hate it, yes, but we have no choice. They will kill us if we do not comply with what they say.

I trudge out of my room, the guard behind me pushing me along with a long metal pole. Rumor has it that that pole can turn on and electrocute you. But no one has ever seen it happen. So is it actually true?

I stumble and Richard pushes me alone, not caring if I’m hurt. Of course, this girl is a man. Any woman there are better left in town have been taken to work for the government.

The guard pushes me through a door making me stumble yet again. I want to fight back, I really do. But there’s no hope. They will kill me in a second. That’s what they get paid to do after all fast little girls around and push us around and then kill us if we step out of line.

I slam down into my chair, and begin working on making the bullets. I push the bullets into a box, the silvery metal in my cold fingers. My job is a packager, since I am 16 and all. Once you turn 16 you no longer do your laundry. You start working on weapons.

Hidden Worlds
306
It’s a normal Sunday morning. I have an hour before I need to leave for church and I’m taking out the trash. As I go outside and walk through my front door, a strange sweet smell drifts in the air. I think nothing of it, I just think it’s the bakery across the street. Thinking back, I should know that the bakery isn’t open on Sundays. Maybe then I would’ve been smarter.

I walk to my trashcan and open the lid, the sweet smell as strong as ever. I plug my nose and toss the trash bag into the trashcan. But it doesn’t hit the bottom. At least, it doesn’t make a noise. I stick my head into the trashcan, looking in it trying to find my trash but there’s nothing in the trashcan. It’s just a hole to a pink world, where this very sweet smell is coming from.

I made a bad decision. I jumped into the trashcan and fell through the hole. When I landed, I landed on a very soft object. It was squishy and very sweet smelling. It wasn’t sticky. I bounced a little bit on it before landing on my feet, on the yellow ground. I looked around, my eyes wide. The hole was nowhere to be seen. I had no way to get back home.

I started panicking. What was this place? What did it want for me? Why did I do that, jump through the hole? I was an idiot for jumping through that hole. Why can I be smart for once?

I looked around more, my eyes grow and wider and wider as I looked every second. This place was very very sweet smelling, almost enough to make someone nauseous. I didn’t like it here. It was full of bright pastel colors.

And then came a unicorn.

Urban Fantasy
332
I stepped out of my apartment, breathing in the smell of roadkill and trash. I lived in New York City, what one might think is the best city in the world, when in reality, it’s not. It smells absolutely horrible it makes me nauseous every single day and everything is so overpriced, I’m nearly broke. But I’m not but still, it’s not a good place to live in.

Any important people who live in New York City, live in the floating islands above New York City. The floating islands are a paradise, full of fun and relaxation. I don’t have to deal with the horrible smells or the over priced everything. Everything to them is free. I hate the way that this city works, but this is the way it is and this is the way it has been and it’s the way it always will be.

I gaze at the floating islands in the sky. My eyes are wide with jealousy as the mayor waves down at the people, smiling and acting like everything is fine. Well guess what? It might be fine for you, Mr. Mayor, but it’s not fine for the rest of us. It’s torture living here. I’m surprised we haven’t all moved away yet.

I walk down the street, confetti hitting my head. One of the islands was throwing out confetti onto the street and littering everywhere. This just made more work for the citizens later. We already didn’t have any good cleaners, so we all did it ourselves. No funding, no support, nothing. It was us against the government.

I got to where I was going and walked through the door. Inside, was the rebellion meeting. I was part of the rebellion. In fact, I was the leader of it. I was the one who started this rebellion against these horrible people living in the sky. Their feet haven’t touched the New York City ground in years and us in the rebellion wanted to change that.

Miscarriages in Pregnancy

Imagine this. You and the person you love have just found out that you're pregnant, and only a few weeks after you tried for a baby too! You start buying all sorts of things for the baby, not carrying if it's a boy or girl yet. You buy dresses, suits, bottles, pacifiers, blankets and so much more, making the total cost of all of this really high.

And then you go to the doctor for a check-up.

Your world falls apart as you learn that the child you were growing inside of you isn't going to make it. In fact, it's already dead. All the money you spent on it is gone. Emotions swirl through you. Do you feel grief for not being able to give your child a life? Perhaps you feel depressed. You want a child, and the one you have isn't going to live. Maybe you feel angry, angry at yourself for not giving the child a life, angry at your body for not letting the child live. But your body is you, so you're angry at yourself.

This is a sad moment in many women's lives. Unfortunately, this is slightly common. 10-15% of women's pregnancies end in a miscarriage.

Now you might be wondering-
How does a miscarriage happen?
Can I prevent it from happening to myself?
What happens after the baby dies?

I'll answer all of these questions, but first, you need to know what a miscarriage is.

A miscarriage is a loss of the child you're raising inside of you that may happen during the first 20 weeks of pregnancy. Some women don't even know that they're pregnant when they have a miscarriage. This is the truth, and it's a sad one. Symptoms of a miscarriage may include period-like cramps that aren't your period, severe pain in your stomach and back, and tissue or fluid passing out of you. If you have any of these symptoms, please go see a doctor as soon as possible!

There are many possible factors in that could cause a miscarriage, and I'm not going to list them all, but here are some of them-
-Development of the placenta is wrong
-Infections
-Medicines
-Problems with the mother's reproductive system
-Long term health conditions

The risk of having a miscarriage may increase if you drink alcohol or lots of caffeine, if you smoke, use drugs, or if you're over the age of 35. The older you are, the higher chance you'll have a miscarriage. “…women under 30, 1 in 10 pregnancies will end in miscarriage… women aged 35 to 39, up to 2 in 10 pregnancies will end in miscarriage… women over 45, more than 5 in 10 pregnancies will end in miscarriage” (Miscarriage 2022

A miscarriage is dealt by taking medication to get the rest of the tissues and fluids out of the mother. There are also procedures that doctors can do to take out the fluid and tissue, but I won't explain those due to not wanting to gross anyone out.

Preventing miscarriages is not possible, although I mentioned factors that can induce the risk of a miscarriage above. Don't do any of the things I listed above, and also go to your doctor for regular check-ups.

Recovering from a miscarriage isn't easy- it's a lot to handle, both physically and emotionally. Pain is one thing that people subject to miscarriages face, but also guilt and depression. Be kind to anyone who has experienced a miscarriage, and don't bring it up, as it's a painful subject to talk about for some people.

I hope you learned something important from reading this article. If you have any questions or want more details, please go to the sites linked below.

Okay so overall I really like this! It’s written really well, you chose a good topic because I don’t think many people actually know about this stuff, and it just seems really professional I hardly ever read or write nonfiction, so I’m probably not the best person to critique this, but I’ll do my best you should probably take everything I say with a grain of salt tho anyway ahfuabfhank

Okay, I love this! Its a great way to start with putting the reader into the mother’s shoes. However, the second sentance tripped me up a bit and was a bit confusing - it took me a while to “get” it. Maybe just change the wording up a little bit! Also I think “carrying” in the third sentance is meant to be “caring”?

Your world falls apart as you learn that the child you were growing inside of you isn't going to make it. In fact, it's already dead. All the money you spent on it is gone. Emotions swirl through you. Do you feel grief for not being able to give your child a life? Perhaps you feel depressed. You want a child, and the one you have isn't going to live. Maybe you feel angry, angry at yourself for not giving the child a life, angry at your body for not letting the child live. But your body is you, so you're angry at yourself.

Love this bit! Love the descriptions of the feelings and everything!

This is a sad moment in many women's lives. Unfortunately, this is slightly common. 10-15% of women's pregnancies end in a miscarriage.

“Slightly common” sounds a bit chunky, and the “slightly” sort of undermines the point you’re trying to make. Maybe change to something like “Unfortunately, this is more common than you might think.”

Now you might be wondering-
How does a miscarriage happen?
Can I prevent it from happening to myself?
What happens after the baby dies?

Since most SWC-ers won’t be trying for a baby any time soon, maybe change the third sentance to “Can I prevent it from happening to myself or people I know?”

Was a good idea to explain this as some people might not know! However, you’ve already said that a miscarriage is the loss of a child so maybe make that point a little less important in the paragraph.

There are many possible factors in that could cause a miscarriage, and I'm not going to list them all, but here are some of them-
-Development of the placenta is wrong
-Infections
-Medicines
-Problems with the mother's reproductive system
-Long term health conditions

Listing things sometimes loses writing flow, so be careful of that!

A miscarriage is dealt by taking medication to get the rest of the tissues and fluids out of the mother. There are also procedures that doctors can do to take out the fluid and tissue, but I won't explain those due to not wanting to gross anyone out.

The words “gross anyone out” don’t really gel with the professional-ness of the rest of the piece.

Preventing miscarriages is not possible, although I mentioned factors that can induce the risk of a miscarriage above. Don't do any of the things I listed above, and also go to your doctor for regular check-ups.

The word “above” is mentioned twice, which makes the sentences a bit chunky. Try reading your writing aloud to see if you have anything else similar to this you might want to change.

I hope you learned something important from reading this article. If you have any questions or want more details, please go to the sites linked below.

Thanks for reading!

Maybe a stronger ending,”thank you for a reading” is a bit cliche for a nonfiction article and makes it seem like it fits in a YouTube video. (No offence though, sorry if my critique is a bit too harsh-)

Transferred- an original song

What does it mean to be transferred?
Oh, will someone just explain it to me?

I want to know
The secrets
That the Family
Is hiding from us

I know there are some
But what are they?

I should know the secrets
Because I hold knowledge

I am a librarian
I work with books all day long

Books hold knowledge
So why can't I do the same?

What secrets are being hidden from the Community?
Does that Child know anything?
Has Mother and Father told them anything?
I want to know I want to know I want to know!
Let me in on your secrets
Please

I work hard
And I deserve to know

What does it mean to be transferred?
Will someone
Please
Explain it to me

Heart Broken

“You're a disgrace to the family,” my mother told me. “Only an idiot would marry a black boy. I can't believe you, Jessica. I just can't. Go away, you're not welcome here anymore. Leave and never return, at least not until you and that boy are no longer together!”

“But mother!” I whined, tears welling up in my eyes. I loved Wes, even if he was black and I was white. We called ourselves an oreo, black and white sweet perfection. “I love him, and you can't control that!”

“Go, leave. I don't want to see you ever again!”

I ran out of the room with tears flooding down my face, falling to the ground. A trail of tears was left behind me on my mother's floor. I hated her, she couldn't control who I loved! She was very old-fashioned and that meant she was racist and homophobic. If I ever changed my gender or sexuality or attraction or anything like that, she would disown me. Except she just did. She didn't want to see me any more than I wanted to see her. You could see the displeasure on her face when she met Wes. She wasn't even trying to hide it!

Wes understood. After dinner on the night they met, he had held me as I wept, for my mother would never accept me or him. It should have been me holding him, but no. It wasn't. This whole situation was worse for him than for me. But then again, he was used to being discriminated against and I was used to my mother's hatred of people

I went to my car, sobbing as I climbed in. I banged my head against the steering wheel, making the car honk loudly for all of my mother's neighbors to hear. But they wouldn't care. They were just like my mother, thinking that they were so perfect and all and better than everyone else. They thought that everyone should worship the ground they walked on and bring them gifts. If slavery was legal, they would participate in the owning of slaves.

As a kid, I tried to talk to them to no result. They all looked down their nose at me and then slammed the door in my face. I walked home with my hopes and dreams shattered, never to be repaired because of those fancy, self-centered people. I would never be the same again.
