The Project ID Bug, Why it Happens, and How to Fix It

Several users on Scratch have noticed a bug in the program: their projects and games aren't appearing in the search bar, making it hard for the project to be popular. This is called the Project ID Bug, and it has prevented millions of projects from being on Trending! The reason this bug happens is an issue with the Scratch search engine. If this bug happens, look at the project ID. It will be >643014898. This may seem like a specific number, but if you search the name of a project with an ID over that number, it won't appear no matter how popular it is.
How do you fix it? Well, go into your project, click on File, and press Save to your computer. Then choose a project that meets the ID requirement, delete everything, then go into File and press Load from your computer. Select the file matching your project. This copies your project and assigns it to the new ID. Then you share the project. (This method still doesn't work for new scratchers that have no projects meeting the ID requirement.)
I hope this was a helpful guide to this glitch and how you can fix it.

Not everyone has an old project that they are willing to delete and this workaround is not very helpful because it involves deleting an existing project. Also the Scratch Team is not currently looking for guides.

I think most people have empty projects in their folder/trash. (I probably have hundreds of untitled project in my folder) You can take one of these for the workaround.

The point is that the Scratch Team fixes this bug, and if they sticky it then they have no other choice to notice and fix it.

I'm sure they already know about it, and they've definitely received Contact-Us messages at this point. It will just take some time to get everything prepared to be fixed. Maybe they're doing a big change and it still needs to complete.
