I think the server as well as your client is caching stuff, and that's what causes it to come up again. It's never happened to me on my development server in any of my browsers.

For the record, (Ctrl|Cmd)+Shift+R (force reload) is not the same thing as clearing your cache.

For the record, (Ctrl|Cmd)+Shift+R (force reload) is not the same thing as clearing your cache.

I don't want to clear my entire cache. I want to force reload (aka flush the cached media/resources from that page).

Force reload doesn't work too well with dynamic content, so it's always safer to empty your cache entirely. For changes to the forums, though, you're probably right—force reloading should do it.
