Is the word "*" allowed on Scratch?
Edit: reporting project mentioned because bad word blocked by filter; also, would be nice if the filter blocked that word in the title of the project
I found a project titled (link removed by moderator - please don't name names) "Decided to ruin it cuz of how * off i was“, and was wondering if I should report it because of the title.
The project also contains the phrase ”doin' your mom". Is that allowed, too?
(If this is a dupe, please tell me. I didn't find it in the QaS directory, and I can't use a search engine to look for similar topics or anything like that, so I have no idea whether this is a duplicate topic or not.)

Is the word "*" allowed on Scratch?
hmmm, I'd say that word and phrase might not be appropriate. That phrase may mean something that's not scratch-friendly
so yes, you may report it
so yes, you may report it

Well, the forum filter is old, and it blocks words that aren't blocked on the main site, so that word may be allowed, but I'm not sure.
About the phrase, if it means what I think it means, then that is definitely not allowed.
I'd just report the project and let the ST make the judgement.

Yes, the word crap is allowed plus the word is not censored on the more modern filters, so it should be fine.

(#5)I know, what I meant is that if that the word crap is allowed so pissed should be fine.(#4)Have you clicked the project link? it is the word "pissed".

How is the p word just as okay as the word crap, though?

(#7)Why not? They are kinda similar, plus the word is fairly common and is not censored by the filter, so I would assume that it's allowed.(#5)I know, what I meant is that if that the word crap is allowed so pissed should be fine.(#4)Have you clicked the project link? it is the word "pissed".

I know English isn’t your mother tongue, but I wouldn’t even really consider crap a bad word. The other word, on the other hand, is worse, in my opinion. Although I hope to hear a better assertion than mine from someone trustworthy, because this might be subjective.

Well, the forum filter is old, and it blocks words that aren't blocked on the main site, so that word may be allowed, but I'm not sure. The phrase is stated without any relevant context, so I assume it means what you think it means, since my knoweldge of the phrase is apparently not outdated. (The last time I heard it was a while ago… years? months? Idk, long enough for a change in meaning to be possible.)
About the phrase, if it means what I think it means, then that is definitely not allowed.
I'd just report the project and let the ST make the judgement.
The word, though, I consider close enough to borderline to check, but bad enough to report immediately with confirmation. That's why I reported it when the forum filter blocked it. (Which also hopefully has the side affect of showing the ST the phrase that was in the project itself.)

(#11)I would advice against it, the word is fairly common and it's not censored by the filter, and you risk getting someone temporally banned.Alright then.Well, the forum filter is old, and it blocks words that aren't blocked on the main site, so that word may be allowed, but I'm not sure. The phrase is stated without any relevant context, so I assume it means what you think it means, since my knoweldge of the phrase is apparently not outdated. I would advice against it, the word is fairly commonThe word is not fairly common. Even if it is, being ‘fairly common’ is not an excuse for tolerating bad words.
and it's not censored by the filterNot all words have to be censored by the filter to be a bad one. Many words and phrases are added to the filter that were not added initially.
, and you risk getting someone temporally bannedThey should get temproraily banned. They should be choosing their word choice more carefully on a website with 8 year olds.

I think it would be better to report the project: it is better to be safe than sorry.

Well, the phrase inside probably needs to be reported, so the ST will probably deal with the word too.(#11)I would advice against it, the word is fairly common and it's not censored by the filter, and you risk getting someone temporally banned.Alright then.Well, the forum filter is old, and it blocks words that aren't blocked on the main site, so that word may be allowed, but I'm not sure. The phrase is stated without any relevant context, so I assume it means what you think it means, since my knoweldge of the phrase is apparently not outdated. The title is okay - “*” isn't censored. The second phrase - well, although it isn't a swear, it's still kinda rude. I don't think “*” is censored either.
Edit: For some reason it did censor those words in this post. How strange.

How did you write those words without being censored? When I wrote them in my previous reply, it got censored with a *.(#5)I know, what I meant is that if that the word crap is allowed so pissed should be fine.(#4)Have you clicked the project link? it is the word "pissed".

I'm not really sure about what word it is, but saying crap should be fine, if it's that. I also believe pissed is okay as well, although I'd check for clarification on that one.
Edit: Don't say pissed! It got me muted on my bad word detector testing project, so it would be recommended that you sis not say it.
