Why can't the Scratch Team actually review projects before taking them down?

So a bit ago, an old project of mine that was completely appropriate got taken down. I assume it was reported several times by the same user because yesterday some user said that it was bad. But why can't the Scratch Team review projects before taking them down? If it's because of it taking too long, then that's like saying you're going to stop eating food because it takes too long. Is there an actual reason for it not being reviewed first?

It takes too long I think, overprotective is better than underprotective.

Carefully read the reason why your project was removed. If it was automatically removed, then the alert would indicate this. Otherwise, it was removed by a human Scratch Team member because they determined it did not follow the Community Guidelines.

The automatic censoring system is in place to ensure that projects which are inappropriate and reported lots of times can be hidden from the community quicker. If a really inappropriate project exists and people keep reporting it, but a moderator is not active at the time, then it's better if the project were automatically removed so a Scratch Team member can review it when they get the chance.

Scratch Team members are humans. They aren't robots.
Everyday, the Scratch Team is bombarded with reports and inappropriate content that could fill up an entire house, let alone the entire world.
This means that every day, the Scratch Team have to delete and take down a countless amount of comments, accounts, projects, and topics to deal with anything right now.
Let the Scratch Team take care of everything else before they can respond to your report. That is all.

I still don't see how the project breaks the community guidelines though. There's nothing in it that is disrespectful to anyone, nothing uses inappropriate language, and the only thing in the project itself is Scratch Cat shaking around a screen repeating the very start of the default meow sound.

Za-Chary talks about the auto censoring measure of the reporting filter, which was probably why your project was unshared. You can read about it in the second part of his post.

However, it sounds like your project was reported several times and reached some kind of a threshold where it was then automatically taken down. Your project doesn't need to be inappropriate or disrespectful to get taken down automatically from reports, it just only needs enough of the reports.

I think @Za-Chary said it wasn't automatically taken down.

He only said to carefully review the reason it was removed. What was the reason that it was removed that you received?

Apparently it was somehow “inappropriate”.

Sounds automated to me. Your project was probably spam reported.

Could you actually specify what part of the project is inappropriate?

As I said before, it taking too long isn't a reason, otherwise people would stop eating food because it takes too long.

The Scratch Team doesn't want to take the risk of leaving up inappropriate projects for a long time since more people could see them. Kids could be scarred. Unlike with eating, time is very important.

True, however they should still prevent the same user from reporting something multiple times, as that could get a project taken down just because someone doesn't like it.

Good idea, but I'm pretty sure they already do. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Probably not, since only one person seems to have seen this recently, and I doubt several people rediscovered the project and decided that it was inappropriate.

You posted a project that shows an alert from the Scratch team https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/673649652/

In the screenshot you show us is nothing about automatically removed. So, your next best move is to use “contact us” and request that they review their alert because you have carefully considered the community guidelines and cannot find any issues with your project (if that is what you have actually done).

Not sure I'm allowed (by my parents) to email the Scratch Team.

Does anyone know if it's fine to add something that tells you not to report my projects if you hover over the report button if I'm certain it doesn't break any of the community guidelines?
