The Learn Project - Learning to code, 21st century style
Steve Jobs:
Everyone should learn how to program because it teaches you to think. different?
That was the easiest way to cram this concept into 4 words.
Anyway, I was thinking we could all work together to create a sort of tutorial site that lets people learn programming.
Tutorial site as in you can help out, but this is not a wiki.
These tutorials will be labeled similar to Java-1: Getting Started or C++-1: Hello, World!
For now, it would be easiest to start with only a few languages:
- C++
- Java
- Python
- Web Design
- Processing
- Batch
If you are interested, please post what language you would be willing to help out with.
If you sign up, please check back daily, updates will be posted on this thread.
- C++: Applications OPEN
- Java: Nobody Yet
- Python: OrcaCat, ezscratch [CLOSED]
- Web Design: Laternenpfahl, fire219 [CLOSED]
- Processing: scratchisthebest
- Batch: Scratchthatguys [CLOSED]
More info soon…
Files: You MUST reference to images as <img src=“#resource#image.png”>exampleimg.png</img>, or link to a file download as <a href=“#resource#example.zip”>Download a zip</a>. Note: NO slashes or specified folders, use double quotes.
Files are to be made as html files without <body>, <head>, or <html> tags. Doctype is also not needed.
You should use ONLY p, img (as explained above), and h2 tags
You are welcome to have many lessons, so don't cramp too much into one - one lesson should focus on one thing.
It is recommended that you, every 4 or 5 lessons, have a small project to have the user work on.
I recommend you upload images to tinypic so they can be copied to the site. If you do not know how to use the formatting explained above, you may post the lesson contents into a [quote][/quote] BBcode tag here.

The only thing I could help with is Java and web design, but they are both closed. I guess if you ever need anyone else to help with those, let me know.

Scratchisthebest and poopo, can you work together and arrange a list of courses, then create the tutorials? That would be great
