Make stickies a different color

Stickies are a very important part to the forums. Unfortunately, many people just glance over them, especially new forumers. This leads to people suggesting rejected suggestions, duplicates, etc. just because people dont know about them!

The stickies are there to help, but some dont understand their purpose, especially closed stickies, because of the fact they aren't colored anymore. This is an issue because it leads to many not even noticing them.

This is why stickies should be a different color. It draws more attention to them, leading more forumers to read them. It also gives them a sense of importance, differentiating them from any other normal post.

What color would it be?
They could be orange, though any attention grabbing / contrasting color could also work. Links are purple, the background is white, so the only other color would be the orange on the main logo of Scratch. This also hopefully wouldn't be too hard to add - if they can change the color for closed and open topics, i see no reason as to why orange is impossible.

Make stickies a different color

If people ask questions about this, they can be answered, and it could be put in the FAQ which would be more noticeable due to that (And people might already be confused by there being pins next to some topics, and dots next to unread topics, etc.)

Sticky colours aren't necessary. The pin icon indicates that it's a sticky. And also the word ‘sticky’.
Actually, a better suggestion would be "Make the forums more friendly for colourblind/colorblind* people.
*Spelling varies.

The pin icon is a tiny icon that doesnt grab your attention. I think a different color would grab your attention easier

I’d say maybe do red. It’s one of the post attention-grabbing colors, so it seems like it would grab people’s attention. Stickies tend to blend in with the regular topics, and this would be great for having them stand out!

I think orange would fit in best with Scratch. It's used on many other pages for things that are supposed to stand out, such as the Share button, and is also the colour of the Scratch logo.

Red is attention grabbing and also there is a lot of orange and blue (this was to go away from blue lol)

Most of the stickies aren't given attention to and results in newer users posting in the wrong forums. Changing the colour would really help!

Red is a bit too attention-grabbing.

Orange doesn't really look good with blue; they're opposite colours on the colour wheel, which, in my opinion, looks weird.

Again, yellow doesn't look the best when paired with blue. It's also a light colour and might not catch people's attention.

I think a dark blue or indigo would be good. What do you think?

Isn't indigo basically the color when you've clicked a link already?

The point is to very much stand out, and using something on the other side of the colour wheel to blue, such as red or orange, would work better than making it darker, and the bright orange of the Scratch logo and cat actually works quite well with the blue look of the website.

That would look too ugly, blue is better.

I really would like to see this. A lot of the new forumers just don’t read the stuff because they are confusing them with normal topics. Would be easier to tell where the stickies end, as well. However, if the stickies are closed; say the open ones are red. They would become a grayish-red. Basically, it would just be a darker version of whatever selected color.

Do we know this for sure? I think it's possible that some Scratchers don't read them because either (1) the stickies are usually too long, or (2) they feel that they don't need to, or (3) they just don't care.

Then again, I do have the controversial opinion that nobody really needs to read stickies before using the forums in the first place, so maybe I just don't think this suggestion would help with anything. Anybody who gets to the point where someone tells them about the stickies, they'll be able to distinguish them from “normal” posts pretty easily by the pin icon.

I personally think that this would not be that attention-grabbing, as it is too similar to normal topics. If this was implemented I would say orange is the best colour as it is still attention-grabbing and is one of Scratch's primary colours.

Something bad might happen though - confusion!! Users might get confused from seeing the green color, so maybe make an announcement post somewhere stating why its green.
I do not think this is really necessary, I am sure people can see that if a topic has a different icon (pin icon), different colour and is always at the top of the sub forum then it is different to other topics. As well, a new forumer is not going to go to announcements to see if anything has been posted why these topics are different.

It does not need to be orange! Any color works! But this color seems to be the best option while still keeping it orange-ish

This topic was discovered to be a dupe. However, the original topic has been closed, so I asked ST to reopen this one, and here we are!

Stickies are very important to the forums, but there are a lot, and new forumers may not entirely understand their purpose and ignore them. That's why we end up with a lot of rejected suggestions being suggested, or people formating their suggestions as lists that are unrelated to one another, or duplicates because people don't know how to look for them.

The stickies are there to help, but people don't understand their purpose and the closed stickies look especially unwelcoming because they're less eye-catching, since the blue is gone. That is an issue, because, again, stickies are important and help Scratchers avoid embarrassment and understand the forums better

This is why I propose we make the stickies a different color! It would draw more attention to them, and prompt users to read them. It makes it seem more important and helps differentiate them from non-stickies. The closed stickies would be orange as well.

By different color, I mean the title color. open suggestions have a purple color , while closed suggestions have a grey color

What color would it be?
Orange. The links are purple, the background is white, so the only other color would be the orange on the main logo of Scratch

This also wouldn't be too hard to add. If they can change the color for closed and open topics, I see no reason as to why orange would be impossible.

Edit: recently went to bugs and glitches, I didn't even know I was starting at a big list of stickies lol. Thought it was posts that people made about their glitches
