Getting Super Scratch resource (download from Scratch Programming Adventure) to run on Raspberry Pi
Hi. I'm aes34 and I'm completely new here. My son (11) is using the book Scratch Programming Adventure to Scratch on his Rasberry Pi and it has all gone pear shaped, because the book relies on you downloading the Super Scratch resource from http://nostarch.com/scratch to get cool graphics. Please please can anyone tell me a foolproof way to get this file, unzip it and run it in Scratch on the Pi? We have tried, and we even appear to have downloaded it but no way can we make it play with us. Please help. Please.

You'll need the file for Scratch 1.4 as that is the version that runs on the pi.
If you have the file downloaded then you need to unzip it.
Try
unzip <filename>
at the command prompt, where <filename> is the name of the downloaded file.

Thank you drmcw. Thank you so much. The trouble is, I am so new to this, I never even know what kind of mistakes I am making. Thank you. If anyone else follows the advice, just to say I had to add .zip to the filename.
