MacOS vs. Windows vs. Linux vs. ChromeOS: Debate Here!
Debate which is better: Windows or macOS or Linux or ChromeOS (you already know everyone is about to hate). (ST please don't close this is about OSes that are advanced)
I'll start: Windows is better because it is more accessible and easier to use.
(btw, this isn't to start flamewars, but to share opinions)

Thought ill add this
Chiroyce vs Qloakonscratch(#9627)It cannot connect to an NTFS HDD or an Android Phone and start File Transfers.I connected my Mac to an NTFS HDD a few weeks ago and it worked just fine. Try it out before you complain lolBasic multitasking is *, even Cmd-Tab doesn’t work as intended! On macOS Big Sur, Command Tabing once will take you to the last used app, and Command Tabbing again will take you back to the first app. Holding down command and pressing tab a few times cycles through all open apps with all the current open app icons in the center of the screen, JUST like Windows. It does not have a native package manager.Fair point, but it's barely any effort to install homebrew.Macs are obviously, incredibly overpriced. They may be called “expensive” but some Macs are really worth the price, like the $999 M1 MacBook Air.More Security? Windows has almost all the same security measures and dare I say, MORE!*ahem* Gatekeeper requires you to type in your password when you open an application from an unidentified developer - on Windows, clicking a button(you call that security???!?)
macOS has its fair share of viruses that shook the Mac world.Windows has wayy more malware and viruses than macOS - what point are you trying to make from it? No OS is 100% secure but there is no evidence that macOS is more vulnerable than Windows. Now shall we also get to some myth-busting, shall we?Where are you even getting these myths from? Most of them seem to be made up by you - like thesemacOS doesn’t need to restart for updates? Myth. It does.So does Windows. Are you trying to make it look like Mac is worse by addressing it with myths? Why are you not speaking about Windows's horrible auto updates? And did you forget about the fact that Windows has ads and bloatware pre-installed?
On macOS you get basic apps like a document editor (Pages, you can import and export from/to .docx), presentation editor (Keynote, you can import and export from/to .pptx) and a spreadsheet editor (Numbers, you can import and export from/to .xlsx) WHEREAS Windows doesn't even come with these apps pre-installed (unless your laptop/desktop manufacturer adds it in) and instead gives you bloated games.macOS is faster? This depends on the hardware so it isn't a fair comparison. But there is no Windows laptop faster than the M1 MacBook Air cheaper than $999 (that comes with a good display, keyboard, great trackpad and speakers along with pre-installed productivity apps and no bloat).
wait a sec you got all of this from a random post on the internet that is so not fair. i came up with my own points to prove that macos isnt garbage. do your research before you post.I agree that Macs look nice, and have some serious power with the M1 chip, I wouldn't run MacOS on them, Windows or a Linux distro would do me much better. Also for functicality MacOS isn't as good as Windows, especially not in business where a company needs to manage the group policies and other functions of a computer.my dad works in a company based in the USA and almost everyone in his office uses a company-provided mac including him - it comes pre-installed with the necessary apps and my dad said it was easier and cheaper for the company to give out macs with pre-installed apps than to configure the same amount of windows laptops. most other companies also seem to be doing this.
TRUE STORY:
My cousin had online classes one day, he got up in the morning, booted up his laptop with Windows 10. There was an update to Windows available, and it decides to auto update, he missed his first class since it took too long, when it restarted, it got stuck, and it was stuck in an infinite loop of restarting for 4 hours. He couldn't take his classes for half the day, he then had to use his phone. A total of 7 hours later, he could do absolutely nothing to make it break out of the loop. He had to turn it off. He turned it on after a minute and a few files were corrupted (so some parts of the GUI was functioning while the others were non-existent, like control panel and the Run menu). He had to dig through 100s of sub-menus in order to find the system restore point. And then he finally was able to recover all his files. If it was a Mac, it wouldn't have auto updated. Also Macs can install system data files and security updates without restarting. Make sure this is checked in the “Advanced” section of Software Update in System Preferences.(#9637)It does not have a native package manager.Fair point, but it's barely any effort to install homebrew.Macs are obviously, incredibly overpriced. They may be called “expensive” but some Macs are really worth the price, like the $999 M1 MacBook Air.
Windows 10, at max, is 400 dollars, not including the price of the computer you run it on. If you buy a good computer to run Windows 10 on, it's about the same quality if not better. On Windows, everything that could leak your privacy requires an administrator password, and some Windows 10 versions require that for opening an unidentified app. On Windows 10 S, you can't even open apps unless they're from the Microsoft Store.More Security? Windows has almost all the same security measures and dare I say, MORE!*ahem* Gatekeeper requires you to type in your password when you open an application from an unidentified developer - on Windows, clicking a button(you call that security???!?)
They are evenly tied in malware since Windows 10 has more but has better ways to install anti-viruses (and easier) and MacOS has less malware but it's harder to install anti-viruses.macOS has its fair share of viruses that shook the Mac world.Windows has wayy more malware and viruses than macOS - what point are you trying to make from it? No OS is 100% secure but there is no evidence that macOS is more vulnerable than Windows.Actually research these topics and you'll find out these are actually misconceptualized a lot.Now shall we also get to some myth-busting, shall we?Where are you even getting these myths from? Most of them seem to be made up by you - like theseYou're leaving out important details. Like, for one, the fact that auto-updates can be disabled.macOS doesn’t need to restart for updates? Myth. It does.So does Windows. Are you trying to make it look like Mac is worse by addressing it with myths? Why are you not speaking about Windows's horrible auto updates? And did you forget about the fact that Windows has ads and bloatware pre-installed?

Also, Microsoft Word is preinstalled onto the hardwood. So is Microsoft Excel. Advertisements are so the game developers can get more attention. And is there any proof that the games are bloated?Actually, since Windows can run on any laptop, while Macs are limited, Windows is the obvious winner here. I have a Windows laptop that runs faster than the M1 and all the issues here are fixed.macOS is faster? This depends on the hardware so it isn't a fair comparison. But there is no Windows laptop faster than the M1 MacBook Air cheaper than $999 (that comes with a good display, keyboard, great trackpad and speakers along with pre-installed productivity apps and no bloat).wait a sec you got all of this from a random post on the internet that is so not fair. i came up with my own points to prove that macos isnt garbage. do your research before you post.I could say the same for you. Before posting it here, I researched all of these points to the fullest extent and they are true. This can be done with Windows as well. Also, it's hard to set up a website blocker to prevent NSFW content on work devices. It's not impossible but it's harder than it is on Windows.I agree that Macs look nice, and have some serious power with the M1 chip, I wouldn't run MacOS on them, Windows or a Linux distro would do me much better. Also for functicality MacOS isn't as good as Windows, especially not in business where a company needs to manage the group policies and other functions of a computer.my dad works in a company based in the USA and almost everyone in his office uses a company-provided mac including him - it comes pre-installed with the necessary apps and my dad said it was easier and cheaper for the company to give out macs with pre-installed apps than to configure the same amount of windows laptops. most other companies also seem to be doing this.TRUE STORY:This is a simple matter of him digging through his settings, and simply turning it off. It's not that hard to do.

I don't use a Mac, but MacOS is better because.
- Actually good UI.
- A lot better for programming.
- Comes with apps you actually use
- Polished user experience.
- Integrates easily with any other Apple Device you have
- Doesn't require you to reboot every two seconds days or so.
~snip~More accessible, yes. Easier to use? From my understanding MacOS is easier to use.
I'll start: Windows is better because it is more accessible and easier to use.

I love (most of) the MacOS UI but I just can't get over the tab control buttons being on the left. I also love how much software there is for windows although it's rather bloated.

I used Windows for 5 years and got used to the left-sided window closing in a few weeks.
Doesn't require you to reboot every two seconds days or so.That's an underestimate - most people only reboot for updates and I do so around every few weeks.

Keeping your system on for long periods of time is not good for it, it wears out the drive, and other components. Decreasing device longevity (lifespan), and other things. It also makes your memory riddled with mess. It's always good to turn your system off when your not using it, and at the end of the day.

TL;DR — Whenever your computer boots up it goes through a POST (Power on Self Test) procedure to make sure if all components are working, and during that stress is applies to some components, so this stress may gradually (that is according to you, everyday) grow and make the device last less longer than otherwise. I've had no issues by not shutting down my Mac every few days for around 8-10 months.

I was saying that in Windows you have to reboot around every two days. While in MacOS/Linux it can stay up for extend period of time.I love (most of) the MacOS UI but I just can't get over the tab control buttons being on the left. Also, I prefer MacOS. Sure, they stop updating older devices, but you can always just use Open Core Legacy Patcher or something to get it back on the latest version. And MacOS has actually good text rendering compared to Windows, where you need a 15 inch 4K monitor for text to even remotely look good *cough* *cough* ClearType *cough* *cough*
(Oh and I don't even own a Mac bruh, but I'm saving up for a Mac Mini)
