Something like “Scratch Project Discussions” could be cool and a more condensed and summarizing name.

I think discussions should be reserved for actual discussions though. Save codes are cool, but they aren't very discussion-y.

Semi support. While there are a BUNCH (and i mean a bunch) of save code related topics in show and tell, it doesn't make sense to make an completely new subfourm.

This will make the show and tell form good and clean.

Full support. Sometimes I actually look in SaT to see what projects people have made, but it's all just save codes.
This would be helpful as there'd actually be a place to see projects, and another place to see how people used projects.

This is likely a good idea to do. Level codes and save data in general do take up a tremendous amount of space in SaT and I believe it's enough to warrant its own forum.

I support. this should get added because level codes are not the purpose of the show and tell forums.

100% support! I really want to help unnoticed Scratchers get noticed, and the Show and Tell forum is one of the best ways for them to do that, but currently it is very much dominated by save code posts. maybe you could call the save code forum “Project Discussion”/“Scratch Projects I Enjoy” or something of the sort, and it can be a forum where you post topics related to projects by others that you play/enjoy? (Like the Things I'm Reading and Playing forum, but for Scratch projects)

He's right, I have been seeing lots of save codes inside the Show and Tell section.

There shouldn't even be a split. Show and Tell should fully embrace being a place to dump save codes. There are far more effective, accessible, and well-known places to advertise. I've already calculated that there are roughly 800 active forum users and there are probably far fewer that actively browse Show and Tell; there are advertising studios more popular. As far as I'm aware (and from years of experience) Show and Tell advertising has a 97% chance of doing nothing.

I would actually browse it if it wasn't cluttered with save codes, tbh.

Support for the OP though.

I think that’s why it’s not worth making a dedicated Show and Tell forum unless the Scratch team goes the extra mile and makes of value to the wider community.

I’ve never like the spirit of “Show and Tell - the place for advertising” because it is such a necessary evil. It exists so that moderators and irate users have a place to tell me where I can advertise my projects rather than in the comments of a project. It’s also the the place where someone goes to try and get something from other Scratchers such as their time or love. It’s like the want ads: “Please buy my used car”. In it’s current form it’s outside of the creative spiral.

So either the Scratch Team should commit to doing more than just splitting the forum into two forums or just leave it as it is.
