I don't get why five nights at freddy's is not allowed on scratch. It should be allowed. I know you guys think it is violent and stuff, but if you give it a chance, maybe you can realize that it is not all bad, and if you play the games, you can realize that it is actually kind of fun. so please take this into consideration.

Well, it isn't appropriate for Scratch whether you like it or not. It's a horror game with frequent jumpscares, which isn't suitable for Scratch's age range. Most FNAF projects are NFE'd not banned, by the way.

To clarify, FNAF-themed stuff is still allowed–you can make a FNAF dressup game or visual novel or whatever. However, you can't make something like a FNAF horror game, as that violates the terms of service. The “FNAF is completely banned from Scratch” angle was an exaggeration/rumor started by people who think they should be able to show gore and disturbing imagery to young children without consequence (or just didn't read the announcement close enough.)

Basically, it's treated like all other rule-breaking content is, but it just got special attention from the Scratch Team because it caused such a massive stir that it had to be addressed as a unique phenomenon.

Simply, it's horror and horror isn't allowed on Scratch in any form. (Although I would say the newer games aren't scary at all)

FNAF is not exactly banned, it's just that FNAF projects may get marked NFE if they are like 5-year-old scary.

FNAF isn't outright banned, it's just restricted due to jumpscares. A complete replication of the game in Scratch with jumpscares? No no. A simple drawing of an FNAF character? That's completely fine but may get NFE'd.

But to answer your question, the game is just too scary for an all-ages website (don't forget the gory backstory).

we can all have our opinions about this ban. But as a fnaf / horror game creator this ban really stinks.

True, but anyone of any age can use this site. Horror games are called horror because they're scary. For this reason, when there was a large influx of FNAF games a few years ago, parents started complaining. So generally, FNAF games are marked NFE. It's for the greater good, scratch has a much smaller chance of having one of their young users traumatized by a horror game.

Mostly because FNAF is so widespread and popular that people in this site have started making games about it.

It’s because it’s have jumpscares and it will scare very young users

Regarding one of your first statements, simply using the mechanics of the game that aren't scary, such as the managing of multiple enemies, could still work and a scratch project. However, some of the things, such as scary imagery and jump scares, would have to be excluded.

fnaf isnt “banned” though..? its just NFE'D (u cant search it up , but , you can still make projects as long as they don't have jumpscares) , also there are little kids here (no don't just say “my brother is 4 and plays fnaf and he's ok” or “idc about them”) , ST actually received tons of complains from parents and teachers about fnaf

its not banned. but some people thinks its the stuff of nightmares. so its not banned. just restricted
