I have the same issue with an RTL8723DE controller on both Windows and Linux. That was the one that didn't work. It connects and disconnects a lot.

(#582)It's not always about ethernet ports, it's also about location of device. Location of router, available space, basement or not, safety, where to PUT the cable. You got any ethernet ports? Especially if they are using a laptop, using Ethernet might not be an option (most of the time not)

It's getting kinda annoying prioritizing one thing over the other when choosing a Linux distro, when I need them all.

It did that at first, but it's a lot more stable for me now. That was the one that didn't work. It connects and disconnects a lot. My realtek network controller (RTL8821CE) wasn't supported by default in the Fedora kernel. It started working randomly, however.

(#592)WiFi for most WiFi cards was stable in Kernel 4.19 and Kernel 5.4, but since 5.8 and 5.10 it has really sucked. Sign on the M18 Motorway warning that horses, horse-drawn vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles are forbidden.
Road signs in the Republic of Ireland do not differ greatly from those used elsewhere in Europe – with the notable exception that hazard or warning signs follow the “New World” style of a yellow diamond. The symbols used on these warning signs do, nevertheless, resemble much more closely those used (on red-bordered white or yellow triangles) in the rest of Europe than many of those seen in the United States.
Typical road signs in rural areas of the Republic of Ireland. Here, a fingerpost with old road number and Bord Fáilte logo. Signpost located in Rathangan, Co. Kildare.
Regulatory signs (relating to limits and prohibitions) differ very little from those used in the rest of Europe.
The system of directional signs is based upon, and is very similar to, that employed in the United Kingdom, but is bilingual everywhere except in the Gaeltacht, where only the Irish language is used on signs.
In Ireland, the highest category of road is a motorway (mótarbhealach, plural: mótarbhealaí), indicated by the prefix M followed by a one- or two-digit number (the number of the national route of which each motorway forms a part). The motorway network consists entirely of motorway-grade dual carriageways and is largely focused upon Dublin. There are also several three-lane motorways, while Ireland's busiest road, the M50, incorporates four-lane, five-lane, and six-lane stretches.

I broke my arch linux VM yesterday after updating it…
it'll probably take the whole weekend to fix
Also Debian VMs contantly break by changing the wallpaper of all things lol

(#597)What files would you need to back up so bad? Also that would take like ~ 10 minutes at most. Try a seperate home partition so when the rootfs breaks (the OS files) you can just reinstall and keep your ~/I think it actually takes more than 45 minutes to back up all your files.(#595)Weekend? (#599)Config files are always supposed to be stored in home, settings as well, wallpapers are installed via a package or you can store it in home. Shell configs are in ~/.config. You'd have to be pretty dumb to modify the system config files, can't go back if you do…Also configuration files, settings for application, wallpaper, shell (if you use omz then also config) and more What files would you need to back up so bad?
