How do I get 3 letter usernames?

Is there any project or thing that I can use to get 3 letter usernames?

I just checked using a script, and it appears that every single one of them is gone due to what appears to be an organized effort to hog all of the remaining 3 character usernames, which happened about a month ago. They are all organized into classes with various names related to 3 character usernames, although I will not name or link any of them here. (The thing is, the last time I checked about 2 months ago, there were still around 4,500 left.)

The script says that there are 18 left, none of which can ever be used because they're inappropriate. (I checked, and all 18 of them said “Username not allowed” when I typed them in to the Join Scratch form.)

edit: I'd just like to clarify that there is a difference between “3 letter” usernames and “3 character” usernames - people will use the term “3 letters” to refer to usernames made strictly of letters (we ran out of those some months ago), while “3 character” usernames can also contain the following characters: 0123456789_-

the accounts existed at one point. Had they not, the API response would be something like

I remember I snatched a 3 letter username but I might of used a 10 minute email or forgot the password

they can probably delete the class, but deleting the accounts is less likely.

I can't right now but your best bet is to use Contact Us and report it as an abuse of a teacher account. This is clearly not a legitimate educator and therefore they shouldn't have access to the teacher tools.

Aside that, I genuinely do not get the point of namesniping all these names. Like, what are you gonna do with them, sell them? Sell Scratch accounts? What is the inherent value in three letter accounts? Why not four letters?

It's the rarest set of usernames available, usernames are always better the shorter they are. 2 letters aren't allowed, so 3 is ✨ f a n c y ✨. When 3 is over, and 4 is around 50% taken, people will start sniping 4 letters as well, but 4 letters are exponentially more common than 3.

Two letter usernames aren't obtainable. Maybe they were years ago, but they aren't now.
