Projects involving FNaF are allowed, if they don’t contain jumpscares, scary images, blood or anything else that might be too scary.

A lot of scratch projects are NFE, because not everyone likes the same thing. Most people look at projects about what they like. So most people seeing the FNAF projects already like Fnaf and know how scary it is. I was also thinking, since FNAF is a game for kids 12+, maybe scratch could only ban these projects for kids who are 11 and younger.
What if these projects reached the front page?
Even if scratch didn't feature them, they could fall into “What the community is ❤️”
Also, adding a mature option to scratch has been declined since it can be easily bypassed
i dont think so, i never seen that happen, so i think no.

Those projects are usually NFE’d, so they can’t get on the front page or trending/search results. That’s for safety purposes.

The Official List of Rejected Suggestions wrote:

7.2 A 13+ version of the Scratch website or age-restricted content
Scratch is designed for ages 8 to 16, but any content shared on the website must be appropriate for all ages. Dividing the community by making a separate, age-restricted website would not be helpful. Potential restrictions from entering the website (such as a warning, or requiring a parent to answer math equations) would not necessarily stop an underage child from entering the 13+ website.

This suggestion extends to age-restricting anything on Scratch, such as viewing specific projects. As a general rule, content shared on the Scratch website should be appropriate for all ages.

But the children who go to the 13+ website would know what they are getting into, so its their fault if they get scared, and if they don't like it, they could just not look at those types of projects.

But you are not allowed to link censored projects through TurboWarp on Scratch, remember that.

You don’t even need TW, just use “projects.scratch.mit.edu/(id)”.

yes, but this topic is arguing for them to stop being NFE'd (English is not my first language so if I missed something please tell me)

Scratch is for all ages. No exclusion.

No support, what if someone makes a project with a jumpscare, and it gets on trending? The ST would get in trouble with schools and parents, because last time they allowed FNaF projects, (I remember, I used to see them a lot) Scratch was getting banned from places all over. They’re already banned in China, they don’t need to be banned anywhere else.

Honestly, the schools and parents can deal with it! It's the kids fault that they clicked on it anyway, they know better.

I understand why they wouldn't get on the front page, but why not search results? if people search for FNAF that means they know what it is and they want to see projects about that game.

What if they don't. They could ignore the warning and think “fun bear game” and then get jumpscared. Many FNaF games fool the user by disguising itself as another game, which is fine since steam has different rules, but not here on scratch

But the ST wants those scary projects gone, doesn’t make sense to allow them to be searched. You can’t search for nono-word-extension either, and that has it’s own reason for being banned.

im sorry, they will definitely not stop being NFE'd. its best to not have bad things such as jumpscares, scary images, all that.

Games like FNaF pizzeria simulator (haha funni lawsuit game) and the latest FNaF game look pretty normal, not like a horror game, so it would be hard for people to know what it is without further context.

AND you can still make FNaF projects, just not scary ones!

what if we make FNaF clicker games? will they still be counted as NFE?

if fnaf is in the title, it will be NFE.

I understand that we can still make fnaf projects as long as they are not scary. But why can we not search them up? If I want to look at some cute fnaf projects, I can't find any because those projects can not be searched. why are we not allowed to search for those projects? People who search for those projects would know what fnaf is.

a reason they might search it up is because they might NOT know what it is.

you can look up character names and see what you get
