well there are 2560 digits usable in cloud variables
so theoretically you could have 2560 players(maybe even more, by allowing multiple users control over the same digit in different ways), although i doubt that system would work well

It would not deal any damage to the servers, however it would allow griefers to grief without punishment. For example, someone could draw something inappropriate on a drawing game, and be able to get away with it. Also, theoretically there could be infinite players connecting to a single project at one time, unless there is a enforced limit.

Aren't cloud whiteboard projects not allowed for the same reason cloud chat projects aren't?

That would be considered unmoderated chat, which is breaking the rules of the current community guidelines.Also I didn't say that the limit of players should be removed. I just want new scratchers to be able to use cloud in other people's project, but can't create them.

By that logic, we should restrict new scratchers of sharing projects because they could “grief uncontrollably”.

This is already technically possible and through this method you can bypass the restriction. You can do it with sending requests through code, and many libraries do just that for you in Node and Python

the current system also allows new scratchers to remix project with cloud variables ; it'll make it into normal variables with the cloud symbol . the same could be done if this suggestion was implemented.
