1) Is the glass half full or half empty?
Empty is equal to zero which is equal to none
Half of something is equal to dividing something by two.
0 / 2 = Impossible! (half empty??)
1 / 2 = Now that's half. (half full)

The word “cold” (or it would be if you could cook it)
The answer is a noun.
But, see, that has the same problem as the word “cold.” You can't cook it because it's a word.
I'll change the description:
It's something you can cook but it can't get hot.

5 owners and their dogs want to cross a river. their is only 1 boat. the only way to get across is by that boat. the boat only has 3 seats. everyone has to sit in a seat and dogs cannot sit on laps. if a dog is left with other owners without his own own owner he will bite the owner. dogs get along fine with other dogs. all owners can row the boat. the only dog that can row is wilbur. get everyone across without anyone being bitten.

I was doing some problems from a Cryptography workbook using Caesar ciphers this week, and there were some “riddles” in it that were INCREDIBLY lame. For one problem, we had to make our own riddles, and this was mine:

Q: What do you call any riddle in this book?

A: A bad joke.

Riddles:

A man lives in a tall building. His room is on the 100th floor. When it is raining, he uses the elevator to get up to his floor. However, on clear days, he has to walk up the stairs the second half of the way up. WHY???

A man goes to a party and has some punch. He has to leave early to get home before midnight. The next day, most of the people who attended the party died of poison. How did he survive???

Some men go to the lake and fish. There are: a two fathers, two sons, and a grandfather. They caught 6 fish. If each person had a fish, how many fish were left(if any)?

1) The man is short, so he can only reach the button for the 50th floor. However if he has an umbrella he can reach the 100th floor button.
2) Since he left early, he wasn't exposed to the poison
3) Anywhere from 1 to 3. They could all be different people, or there could just be a son, his father, and his grandfather.

Three. There is the grandfather, his son, and his grandson. Two of them are fathers and two of them are sons.

I would say anywhere from 1 to 3 (as in my post above) because they could still be all different people.

No one said the punch contained the poison.

Heyo! I know this is kind of a necropost, but I want to revive this topic. Anyways, here's one.
Two mothers and two daughters go on a fishing trip. They each catch one fish and put them in a basket, and once counted there are three fish. how is this possible?

#necropost

Because one mother is a grandmother, and the other mother is actually a daughter, so in reality there is a grandmother, a mother, and a daughter; 3 people.

Here is a riddle:
There are two doors; one contains infinite money and infinite treasure and everything you could possibly want, and the other door contains fire and death and other bad stuff.

There are two people standing in front of the doors. One of them always tells the truth. One of them always tells a lie. You do not know which one is the truth teller and which one is the liar.

You can only ask ONE question to ONE person. And after asking this question, you should know 100% FOR SURE that you know what the correct door is. No 50-50 chances, you have to be absolutely sure about the correct door.

What question should you ask to one person that will get you to the correct door?
