Someone got killed and he burst into tears.
Thanx for your attention.

So instead of telling him not to play it, or reporting it, you think the community should be divided?
Absolutely no support.

Isn't it the rule that, yes, you can have blood (at least a little), as long as it's off by default, and there is a toggle?
Um, no because not everyone knows how to do that. Any blood equals NFE.

Or removal of the project. Maximum blood would be a paper cut, and that would be marked as NFE.

No support. It would be totally impossible to implement, because everybody would lie about their age.

Hmm… Maybe an alternative:

On The_Scratch_Squad, we rate our games and require all of our users on our studios to post age appropriate games (AA-E6+). It is similar to the ERSB ratings. Here is how our system goes:

*AA-All Ages; Anyone can play.
*E6+-Everyone ages 6 and up; Anyone ages six and up are the only recommended ones to play. This age group does not recommend the players under 6 years of age to play, as they may include but are not limited to Mild Violence, Crude Language, and Crude Humor.
*E10+-Everyone ages 10 and up; Anyone ages 10 and up are the only recommended ones to play. This age group does not recommend the players under 10 years to play, as they may include but are not limited to Violence, Scary animation, Language, and Crude Humor.

These are the ones so far that we have now. We will usually not include any games above TEEN…

Not for everyone. The ST makes all projects FE(for everyone) or NFE(not for everyone). NFE projects cannot be on the front page.

Oh… Thanks. Would anything 6 years of age and up be FE?

It depends.

Let's say your project is live a movie and it is given a movie rating (I'm in the US here…)

Y ratings would definitely be FE.
G ratings would also be FE.
PG ratings get a bit iffy… likely would be NFE if it's not very intense. Worse might mean a censored.
PG-13 ratings and up would be censored and/or deleted.

Ok… Usually I would give a description about why it is the rating (except AA).

Im not sure about that… In my opinion, it depends on how you do that… Like, what if you wanted to do a video about bacteria, and how they enter into your body…

Paper cuts=blood (of course), bacteria enter into body…

Would that be rated NFE???

It's educational, so in this case, probably not.

Yeea… no. Scratch IS supposed to be kid- friendly in the first place.

I totally see where you are coming from though. It would be a good idea if not for the fact that it could be abused so easily

No support. This will encourage more violent games and Scratch will be like DeviantART.

Hello, and welcome to the Scratch Forums.

I'm sorry to crush your dreams here, but no, you can't do that. Your project must be appropriate for all ages - a good test for this is that if you think there's a need for an age disclaimer, it's probably too violent/scary and you need to tone it down.

In the future, you should ask your question in a new topic instead of posting in an old one. You can do this by clicking on the forum you want to post in and clicking the blue “New Topic” button in the upper right corner of the screen. Make sure you've read the forum's description to make sure that your topic fits. I also recommend that you read the “stickies” in each forum before posting in them - these are the topics at the top of each forum labeled with the word “sticky” and the pushpin icon.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy your time here. Scratch On!
