Use Turbowarp and use the Onion Skinning feature, this allows you to see the previous costume to make accurate movements in the next. I'm assuming you know how to make sprites change costume? When you finish your animation, save the game to your computer and upload it back onto scratch. If you don't know how to use Turbowarp, I highly recommend learning how.
Oh I just noticed that you're new to Scratch?

My best and most helpful projects:
Savable Games Engine | Plants Vs. Zombies | Competitive Clicker Game
As a kid, John Lennon, member of the most successful band in history, the Beatles, said, “When I grow up, I want to be happy.” The teachers around him said that he didn't understand the question, but young John said that {the teachers} didn't understand life.
