What content is not allowed on scratch?

I am new to Scratch and would like to know what content is not allowed on here.
Since Scratch is mostly used by children and students, I assume that there are limitations on the content you can post (content must be age apropriate, e.g. no depictions of graphic violence, no use of swear words, etc.)
If so, what is allowed and what is prohibited?

More specifically, I would like to ask the following:

- Is the depiction of mild blood allowed? (e.g. minor injuries, mild blood stains on clothing/weapons, etc)
- Is the depiction of real weapons and firearms allowed? (non-fantasy weapons, e.g. guns, knives, chainsaw, etc)
- Is the use of mild swear word alternatives allowed? (e.g. heck, darn, etc)

If anyone can help me here, it is greatly appreciated!
I apologize for any spelling mistakes or if my english is bad…

Here are some answers for your questions:
1. The one rule about blood on Scratch is that no more blood then the amount that would come from a paper cut is allowed.
2. I believe the answer is technically yes, but only in non-violent ways. (For example, you can’t show somebody aggressively stabbing another person, but you could show somebody using a knife to chop food.) However, weapons that are more… violent, for lack of better words (like guns), are straight up not allowed.
3. Yes, but they might be discouraged.

1. Must be no more than a paper cut
2. No
3. Grey area, some mods will ignore, others may take content with those words down.

What content is not allowed on scratch?

I'll respond to the three questions:
1. Although people claim you're allowed to share “no more than a paper cut,” if you really want to be cautious, avoid showing blood altogether. If you're doing an animation or making a game and you want to show someone taking damage, try having the character say “ow” or do what Minecraft does instead. Of course, you can try to show blood, but keep it very PG and keep in mind you might run into something if you show too much.
2. I think fantasy violence is fine, like using swords to attack goblins or something, so long as there isn't any blood with it or excessive violence. Think Minecraft or Clash of Clans, or whatever. I'd avoid depicting guns in projects unless they're non-bullet guns (i.e. laser, water, or Nerf) just to be safe. I personally wouldn't use chainsaws as weapons at all; only case I'd use it is in its appropriate, PG use. - trimming bushes or whatever. Then it should be obvious knives are fine in a culinary, non-violent sense.
3. The two examples you gave are allowed, and so are “hell” and "damn“ so long as you're not directing it towards anyone in a rude sense. ”Crap" is also allowed but anything beyond that I'd just avoid to be safe.

I might be wrong though, view other peoples' responses as well, particularly those from the Scratch Team.

Just have a look at the community guidelines they cover most things, if you still have a question feel free to ask, and I think the last paragraph of the guidelines covers your questions. Have fun scratching: https://scratch.mit.edu/community_guidelines/

Thank you very much for all the answers!
I will certainly keep that in mind.
The discussion still won't be closed though (or however it works here).
Any new answers will be greatly apreciated, especially from Scratch Team.

Thank you!

I think mild swear is allowed, will-wam used it in a project seen by lots of people, he didn't get reported

Adding on to the weapons part, context matters. Austinatio already partially explained this, but if you aren't using the weapon against an animate target, there is more leniency.

For example, while a bullet gun probably wouldn't be allowed if being used to shoot at aliens, it would likely be ok to have a bullet gun which you shoot at a red white target. It depends on how realistic the gun is though; the more cartoony the better.

They are only protected from being censored completely. You still have to be careful about how you use them.

Guns are allowed if you put a warning, it will just be tagged as nfe, and red screen tint is ok, just no actual blood

Adding a warning doesn’t change how appropriate a project is. If the Scratch Team decides a project is not acceptable for Scratch, they will take it down warning or not.

No, combat with a lot of blood is not allowed. If you see a project with a lot of blood, you should report it.

All content needs to be somewhat suitable for all ages; if a Scratch project was to have a maturity rating, it should be rated Everyone, NOT Everyone 10+, Teen or Mature.

Scratch projects cannot be based on media (video games, movies, TV etc.) not suitable for all ages either.

That last part isn't true. FNAF isn't for all ages, but one can make a project that is for all ages based upon FNAF. (Such as a FNAF dress-up game.) Star Wars isn't necessarily for all ages, but you can still make projects based upon it.

Yeah no, the project has to be for everyone, not what it's based on. Squid Games projects work without the gore ‘n’ blood.
