when i first saw the thing on status.roblox.com i thought it was usual (Roblox crashes a lot, but its usually when its night in the US… And day here in europe. When it was still down 2 hours later it looked sus. The next day i couldn't even access the site anymore and i just got this:

Roblox is down but you can still play scratch games because scratch is up so play some scratch games and make your own games and projects

Roblox youtubers say, it's an update. Neither the Roblox Chipotle Maze nor Adopt Me! wasn't at fault, it's an major update.

It was not a update, they are saying they are trying to fix the problem. It has almost been down for 2 days

guys i know why roblox crashed
it's because the servers are written in Lua and C++ at the same time so handling two different programming languages caused huge server strain which crashed the server.
it's also because the new 5g connection messed up the inside of servers cuz of radio waves!!

also conspiracy theory, if you do inspect element on the maintenance page, there is a hidden countdown
this must mean that roblox intentionally shut down the servers cuz why else would there be a countdown!?!?

it's funny reading devforum posts of people jumping to clearly unlikely conclusions of why the outage happened and how to fix it, written in not-so-great english. i also have a theory, and it's actually very reasonable: it could have been caused by a random bit flip from space radiation. that stuff actually happens, though not very often.

also the hidden countdown is probably just cuz they improvised an old maintenance page from years ago which was originally intended to be used when pushing an update to the site, but since the countdown serves no purpose in this current situation they removed it. that's my theory though, and i don't really have any proof that back that up.

it sucks that the server is down because of an internal system issue; i can't access roblox studio. i had this an idea for a game and i wanted to start working on it, but i came back from school only to be presented by the maintenance page. and the day after it's still up there. i thought that the issue would be fixed overnight, but clearly something is seriously wrong.
