What is a Simulation?

I'm new to Scratch, so I don't know all there is to know. When I go to add tags to my project, one of the default tags is “Simulation.” I couldn't help but wonder what it meant. If you know what it means, please tell me! Thank you!

“Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system over time.”

Pretty much anything that imitates something in real life, like a aquarium simulator where you take care of fish in real life, or a physics simulator, where you make physics for something like in real life.
