You'll have to provide a link to your project. The type of movement your character makes (scrolling, top-down etc.) directly influences the way the minimap is produced. In general, minimaps usually make use of the player's exact location onscreen relative to the rest of the map, while simplifying it down into a smaller scale such that the coordinates of the player on the map is still proportional.
