How tags work.
I am not sure how tags work, I attempted to use them in my projects descriptions and titles.
Are there certain tags to use or is it anything you start with a hashtags for example #supermario or something that appears on explore such as art so you put #art?
When I look up hashtags it exclusively shows projects named “Mario” instead of something with the tag #Mario and when selecting for example art instead of #all/all when in explore it only shows me popular and trending projects and not new.

In the middle right of trending, there is a drop-down menu that says “trending”, and can be changed to either popular or recent. I hope this helps you!

Thank you very much!
Does this mean all projects with the hashtag in their game (title/notes&credits/instructions) will show up in (for example) #art if put it in one of those 3 areas of your project?

Yes I believe so! It might not be like first on trending or anything, but it should show up at some point! Please keep in mind that the search bar can take a week to update sometimes, so your new projects may not show up immediately.

That explains my question about why my projects usually don't show up. Thank you so much for answering my questions!

Putting a tag in your title or in the project description doesn't make a difference. AFAIK, the search engine examines your search term based on the separate words it contains - therefore the search terms “mario” and “supermario” would give different results. I'm not sure whether putting a “#” before your search term makes a difference, but I'm assuming it doesn't.
Based on the fact that the hashtag sign is used as an identifier for a tag, searching “#mario” would give the same results as if you were to search “mario”, since the engine would probably ignore the symbol and treat the rest of your input as the search term rather than actually giving results that match the pure string of “#mario”.

Adding a tag has the same effect as simply using the word anywhere in the title or description – it just makes it obvious to viewers that the word is there because it's related to the project.
