No "Follow, unfollow" trick

No support, because you probably shouldn't do f4f anyways. “Followers” aren't popularity. They are people who want to see more of your stuff. If you get 50 followers from f4f, will you be proud that you got 50 followers? None of them really care about the other user's projects.

If f4f “cheating” is SUCH a big issue, why would you allow unfollows within 5 minutes? This would just annoy everyone.

No support, it's just not necessary. As Abstract- said, I accidentally hit follow sometimes, and it would be kind of inconvenient if I couldn't quickly undo my accident.

I do not support the five day prevention thing, but I do support a notification for the person who was followed. It shouldn't show up on the What's Happening? (front page) or What I've Been Doing (user page) sections.

No support. Following isn't against the rules, and you really shouldn't be doing f4f anyways.

It happened to me once. I did f4f for goodness knows what reason and later wanted to unfollow the person, and they got angry with me. It's just so frustrating- please don't put yourself in this situation, people. Just- please.

Notifications for when someone unfollows you is rejected

8.8 Notification when someone unfollows you
This sort of feature could create a lot of drama within the Scratch community. Those who are concerned about follower count may get angry at another user for unfollowing them. The Scratch Team believes that users should be able to follow or unfollow anyone they want without feeling guilty about it, especially as their interests change.
Also, what if you accidentally follow someone?

I feel like this topic predated that list… but reporting to be closed anyway.

they mean by disabling unfollowing, not by saying they unfollowed you

Following is not a contract - there is no obligation involved. The Follow feature is there simply for Scratchers to keep track of the work and activities of Scratchers they admire. As such, it should be something Scratchers can do - and undo - whenever they like.
