How to make a hole that looks like a shape using eraser tool in Scratch Vector Editor?

Hey, I think I might be able to help!

There is no way to actually make a shape with the eraser, but you could try creating a sprite in that shape, copying it into the sprite you want to erase from, then use the tool to erase over the stencil you've just created.

Hope that helps!

I had this crazy idea to make a template irl and slap it over the mouse so you could get a perfect shape, but it really just seems like a waste of time

if you're working with shapes that you don't need absolutely perfect, you can convert the costume into bitmap and draw an area of a random color (say, purple) that isn't the same color as the background, and then fill that random colored area with a fill of nothing (open the fill color prompt and select the empty square with a red line running through)
when you convert that back to vector you can use some vector shapes and outlines around the area to make it look a bit better

That's a good idea, why didn't I think of that? Lol

Hmm yeah but how can I put the template over my computer screen, and how would I keep it in place while drawing around it?

Try drawing the outline of the shape, then filling the outsides with the desired color.
