In-Cabin Daily (7/2):
The air was chilly. A breeze swept over the mountain top and caught my loose strands of blond hair. I watched the man in front of me as he polished his long, silver blade. I smirked and began to quietly walk up to him, careful not to let my footsteps be heard. I took my own sword from the sheath at my hip. Though I thought I had been quiet, the man turned around. A smirk grew on his lips.
“Sneaky,” he said. “But not sneaky enough. You could never trick me, girly.”
“I am not a girl; I am a woman. And I’m smart, at that,” I replied. I turned the handle of my precious sword around in my hand. His eyes moved down to it and his smirk widened.
“And what are you going to do to me?” he asked.
“Fight,” I said. “Unless you’re scared.”
He chuckled. “Oh, you have much to learn. Scared is not in my vocabulary.”
“I bet not.”
He raised his eyebrows. “What are your intentions, miss?”
“How do you know I have any? Should we fight already or keep up with this verbal nonsense?”
His sword went up quickly and hit mine. I grinned and let mine fall too. Our swords clashed noisily many times. We were both grinning, though I don’t know why. Maybe it was the joy I felt from fighting, though that also sounded incredibly stupid.
Finally, my sword cut a slit into his forearm. It caused him to fight with one hand and he was still good. I cut his arm farther and he only winced as my blade pierced his skin. He swung at me, only resulting in him hitting my blade again. He was weakening by the slightest bit. I smiled and continued to hit his sword with mine.
Main Daily (7/2):
The Glass Magician/ The Master Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg: I like the love (lol) and honestly, I think it would be fun to write about a couple with an age difference. I also wanna write with more character thoughts, if that makes any sense.
I didn’t know how to describe our relationship. I liked him, but he was so, so, much older than me. Maybe the relationship would be fine, but I was scared to find out. What if we weren’t accepted? What if it was wrong? What if our age difference was just ridiculous? All of the what if’s ran through my brain at a fast pace and I didn’t want them there, but they hadn’t left for a long time.
But what if he did like me? What if he didn’t? What if he wanted to be in a relationship? What if we began one? What if we began one and my brother got angry? What if I told my parents? What if I told my friends? What if I told him?
I sighed and laid my head down on my bed. The thoughts refused to leave, no matter how many times I told them to get out. Why would this boy like me? The boy that was my brother’s best friend and four years older. Sure, he knew me, but probably not well enough. Not well enough to like me anyway. This was stupid. I should just stop daydreaming.
There was a light knock at my door and it opened. There he was. Colton. I felt myself smile slightly and I quickly bit my lip. My cheeks were hot. I was blushing already. Why? Curse my emotions. They usually never helped me out.
He gave me a small smile. “Hi, April.”
“H-hey,” I replied. Why couldn’t I act cool?
“Uh, your parents need you downstairs.”
My parents? What did they know?
He chuckled. “It’ll be fine. They just want to talk to you about something. I don’t even think it holds any importance.”
“A-alright.”
He smiled again. “Alright, I’ll see you after then?”
“You’re not busy with my brother?”
He shrugged. “Not particularly. Got anything you want to do?”
My cheeks were red again. I knew they were. I felt them heat up. I shrugged slightly. “Uh, I’m going to go downstairs. I don’t want to keep them
waiting.”
I stood up, catching a glimpse of myself in my mirror. My hair was very messy and Colton had just seen me. Why?
I walked quickly down the hall, hearing Colton’s footsteps behind me, and went into the kitchen to find my parents waiting there for me. My dad leaned against the counter and my mom was at the stove.
“Colton said you wanted to see me?” I asked.
My dad smiled. “Yes. We have something we want to talk to you about.”
Please, please, please, don’t be feelings. Please.
My mom went to the sink and washed her hands then stood next to my dad. “April, honey, you got a D on your test the other day.”
Not feelings, but this wasn’t great.
“Y-yes, I’m aware,” I mumbled.
“What happened? You’re usually so bright. We haven’t ever seen a D from you,” my dad said.
“I-I don’t know. I just, forgot to study, I guess.” It was a lie. I always study, but during the test, my mind was somewhere else. It was on Colton. I couldn’t believe I had gotten that distracted.
Real Dystopian- Fi Daily Writing Prompt (7/2):
Cookies. What could be greater than that? The soft, chewy cookie with warm chocolate chips. You see them on the counter. Your mother had
just baked them and they're sitting right there waiting for someone to eat them. You rush over to the plate and look around, trying to make sure
she isn't there. You snatch one and take a bite of the chocolatey goodness. A smile appears on your face and you take another bite, savoring the cookie.
Your little brother walks in and runs over to the cookies too. Together, you eat the rest of them before your mother finds out. You know you shouldn’t have and almost as a punishment, your stomach doesn’t feel very good. You threw up and became grounded once your mom found out that
you’re the one who ate them. Apparently, they were for the new neighbors, but how were you supposed to know? The punishment taught you a
lesson though. Next time you see cookies on the counter, don’t eat them!

In-cabin Daily (7/3):
Brooke walked into the kitchen. A cutting board with 3 carrots, one in the process of being cut, sat on the counter. Her mom must've been in the middle of making dinner, but she had no idea where her mom was at right now. Possibly somewhere in the house, but she could have run to the store or something too.
Brooke opened the fridge door and got out a yogurt then began to leave when she heard a voice.
“Brooklynn,” it said, with a raspy voice. “Brooklynn.”
She turned around in the direction she had heard the voice, but saw nobody. “Who’s there?”
“It’s me. The carrot,” it said.
She chuckled. “Alright, seriously, who is it.”
“I told you. Please, save me. I don’t want to end up like my buddy.”
She crossed the kitchen to the counter. She looked down at the cutting board and saw a face on the carrot. She screamed.
“Whoa, Brooklynn. It’s alright. Calm down.”
“Y-you’re talking t-to me.”
“Right, and that’s what I told you already.”
“G-get out!”
“Don’t be absurd. I don’t have legs. Trust me, if I did, I would have run from the grocery store a long, LONG, time ago. Do you think I want to be eaten? Certainly not. I mean, would you like to be eaten? No, I bet you wouldn’t. Show me some sympathy here and help me out. You can put me in the dumpster for all I care. Just please, please, don’t let me be eaten.”
Brooke picked up the knife. This must’ve been a bad dream. She was going to kill the carrot.
“Whoa, what are you doing with that knife? Brooklynn, put it down! Brooklynn!”
She chopped off his “head” first, then went down to his lower body. She smirked and put down the knife then took her yogurt and ran upstairs, far away from any carrots.

Main Cabin Daily (7/4 Happy Fourth!):
So, I ate some candy. It was sweet and sour and delicious. They were gummies. I really liked the blue raspberry and green apple ones and the lime and “tangerine” (just call it orange lol) were my least favorite because the flavor is so…weird. The pineapple one’s are remarkably interesting and are different from other pineapple flavored candy. Maybe they’re pina colada though…anyway, there was also raspberry or strawberry or something and those ones are good, but I like the other’s (blue raspberry and apple) better. Usually, I don’t eat candy, but sometimes I do, and I like eating it lol. It sometimes makes me feel happy, though sometimes it makes me feel kind of rotten. It could be that I know it isn’t the BEST for my body, or maybe I just ate to much, I don’t know. My mom got this candy at a grocery outlet, I think, and that means it was most likely a good deal. I have had the candy twice as well. Overall, I like it, though it isn’t my favorite, and I think it is rather good for what it is. I much prefer it over something like sour patch kids. I’ll probably eat it again sometime too.

Hallee,
I really enjoyed writing about you and creating you. Sometimes, I felt as though I really did know you. I’m sorry that you had to die. I promise I will make sure Hudson is happy, though it could take a while. I know you will be watching over him from above and making sure he lives a good rest of his life. He really did love you…a lot. He wanted to propose to you and have a family with you. He’ll be ok. I wish you to have a peaceful parting from the world like you wanted. I hope that your life was good enough. Goodbye.

Bright sunlight shining
Burns everything it touches
With dangerous rays
Why is this world so dark
It feels as though there’s nobody on my side
Everyone beating each other up
Everyone bringing each other down
Why can’t we all be friends
And stop putting our differences between us
We all originate from the same place
Why should it matter what we look like
Or who we are
We should all love each other
And come together
To realize that we’re all the human
We need to stop treating others with disrespect
Start realizing we’re all the same

I am the exclamation point and I bet I am everyone’s favorite type of punctuation. You can use me when you’re excited, scared, angry, or really want to express something. I’m fun and my look is probably the coolest. My author, who apparently goes by TEK here, but is called many things in other settings, well, she hardly uses me. It’s only when the characters are angry and that hardly ever happens. I wish she would use me more because it makes me sad when I’m neglected and things like the period or quotation marks or even the question mark get used more. How absurd and extremely sad is that? And then I’m an afterthought at times! TEK writes a period then changes it to me as if she remembered she needed an exclamation point because they’re the best. At least she doesn’t overuse me. I hate other exclamation points and sometimes I see them put together like this ‘!!!’. I feel bad for them, but I also feel bad for myself. I just do not understand any authors at times. They should use us properly and stop doing the wrong thing! They should use us enough, but not overuse us! They should take time to consider our feelings instead of selfishly only considering the feelings of themselves and their characters that aren’t even real and don’t deserve their time and love. How often have we been there for them, supported them through all of their writing? We need the love and respect we deserve. I may protest and stop letting TEK use me this way. Then again, she may get mad at me and then I might never be used again. I guess I won’t, but I hope the rest of you exclamation points are treated better than I am!

In-Cabin Daily (7/6):
Note: In this dream, I actually said “hmm, this would be a good book idea” and I was thinking of writing something based off of it, but I hadn't done it yet. The dream I had was with my classmates and we were in these strange rooms where we took a series of tests and had to go up and down different levels to take them. Anyway, here it is.
*Most aspects of this story are based on my dream.
The testing rooms were dark. I had never expected it that way. Each had a few large screens that we stared at. This first test didn't seem relevant. It was about baseball. I sat in a line of chairs between my peers. We answered each question in our head and they would be read by the administrator. Later, we would get our results back.
This section of the test concluded. We all stood and I followed the line of people to the exit. We went up an escalator and entered another room. The large screen had an image of bright green grass on it. I wondered what we would do for this. I sat down in my chair next to my other classmates in the same order as we had sat before. I stared up at the screen.
“This test is about the outdoors,” our administrator said. She had never come with us, so I wondered where she came from. “You have five minutes. You may start.”
We had no questions to answer. We only stared at the screen and thought of the things that came to mind. Our administrator strode through the room and watched us. Her eyes would light up every time we had a thought relating to the test. Soon, she stopped and dismissed us from the room. We went to the exit again and went up an elevator this time. We entered another one of the gloomy rooms and sat down. We stared at the screen and thought about what appeared on it. We did this many more times until the administrator finally dismissed us for good. I followed some of my peers over to a strange sink in the wall. They began to wash their hands, so I did too. They were laughing and talking. I wanted to be a part of it.
“It’s cool that they have a sink here,” I said.
The largest girl turned and stared at me like I was peculiar. “No it isn’t.”
“Oh. Is it just me or did these tests give any of you guys strange ideas?”
They all turned to look at me. They bursted out laughing.
“Strange ideas?” the girl asked. “You’re the strange one. No wonder the ideas you have are exactly like you.”
I glared at her. “Well, it gave me an idea. You don’t have to be rude.” I shook my dripping hands on her and stomped off.

Family:
Mason approached my locker. For a second, he just stood next to me and watched me until he asked,
“Hey, are you ok? Why do you look so sad? Are you sad?”
I wanted to avoid his gaze because I knew I might burst into tears if I looked him directly in the eye, but he purposely stared into my eyes. The tears did come. He sighed and pulled me into a hug. I didn’t know why he cared now. Usually, all he would want at school is to avoid me. But he actually cared now and I was glad he did.
“Hal, what’s wrong?” he asked softly.
“I’m just mad at m-myself and I feel like everything is my fault,” I said.
He stroked my back. “It’s not your fault, ok? Calm down.”
Platonic/ Best Friends:
I sat down at the cafeteria table next to Christy.
“Those girls are so annoying,” I said angrily.
She looked over at the table of popular, snotty girls. “Yeah, I know. Good thing we aren’t like them.”
“I’m not anyway.” I grinned at her and she gave me a playful slap on the arm.
“Hey, I may like people more than you do, but that does not mean I’m annoying and rude, Hallee!” she exclaimed.
“I was joking, don’t worry. You aren’t like them. It would take a lot to get that way.”
She smirked. “Right, it would. How was class? Did you daydream or pay attention?”
“I only daydream when the teacher is talking about something I already know.”
“Isn’t that everything?”
I simpered. “I’m not that smart.”
“You tutored a senior when you were a sophomore. You totally are that smart.”
“Yeah, well, so are you.”
“Not exactly. I’m more of a people person and you’re more of an academic person.”
“Whatever.”
Romantic Relationship:
(Note: this is not…a bad romantic relationship, it’s just more than a platonic relationship)
I walked into the kitchen. Hudson sat with my brothers at the table. I smiled. I wondered if he wanted to be friends with them or if he was just doing it to make me happy.
I walked over to the table. They were working on homework. Hudson had calculus problems in front of him while my brothers had science and English homework. They were talking and laughing, probably more than they did their homework.
I stroked Hudson’s hair and he looked up at me. He smiled.
“Hi Beautiful,” he said softly.
I simpered and his smile grew.
“You know you are beautiful, right?” he asked.
I sighed. “Hud.”
“How was school?”
“School.”
He grinned. “I missed you.”
I leaned over and kissed him.
“Please, stop,” Josh said.
I looked up at my brothers. Hudson put an arm around my waist.
“Someday you’ll find love,” I replied.

In-Cabin Daily (7/8):
“I-I have something to tell you,” Sarah began.
I looked up from my book and my eyes met hers. She nervously fidgeted with her locket. I put the book down and continued to train my gaze on her.
“What is it?” I asked.
“My parents told me I needed to keep everything a secret, but it’s been much too hard to continue to do that. We’re best friends and we’re not supposed to keep secrets from each other, but I’ve been keeping one from you for years. I understand if you don’t trust me or don’t want to be friends with me anymore, but-”
“Sarah, just tell me, please.”
She sighed. “I-I’m not from here.”
I raised my eyebrows. “Uh, that’s alright. Many of us were born in different places or have different heritage.”
“No, no. I mean, I’m not from this world.”
“What? How is that even possible? Do you mean you’re an alien? That can’t be possible.”
“Not exactly. I’m still human, I just have different abilities. The world is called Chazeter. It’s ruled by a king and queen that just happen to be my parents. They wanted me to have a somewhat normal life, so they sent me here to earth. I go through a portal to get back home. The kingdom consists of many different types of creatures that are all my parents’ subjects. Humans, fairies, sirens, unicorns, pegasuses, alicorns, cyclops, ogres, goblins, dwarfs, trolls, pixies, minotaurs, centaurs, satyrs, dragons, vampires, and so many more creatures. We try to live in unity, each being having a different job. Humans have the magic and we lead and protect around our land. Fairies and pixies protect the skies. Sirens protect the water. Unicorns and alicorns do spells and pegasuses and alicorns protect higher into the sky. Trolls protect crossings. Ogres and cyclops, well they don’t really do anything. Goblins and dwarfs mine. Dragons protect the mountains. Vampires get rid of unwanted creatures. Minotaurs lead the army and centaurs and satyrs are a part of the army. The rest of the creatures…don’t really have jobs,” Sarah explained. “I’m a human, so I have magical powers.” She opened up her hand and a small amount of blue mist like stuff twirled around. She smiled down at it. “It’s really amazing, actually.”
“Wow. This is a lot to process. Were you born in that world?”
She nodded. “I was. That’s how I got my powers. Any human born in Chazeter automatically has magical powers. Humans that come across our world can gain magical powers.”
“That’s actually really interesting. How are they given?”
“A leader, like my parents, has to make sure that they’re trustworthy then they give them to them. I want to be a leader like them when I’m older.” She looked into my eyes. “I have one last thing to tell you.”
“Alright, what?”
“It affects you strongly.”
“Just go ahead and tell me what it is, Sarah.”
“You’re from there too.”
“What?”
“You’re from Chazeter. You’re my sister.”
“I-I have something to tell you,” Sarah began.

Main Cabin Daily (7/9):
Characters know what the reader doesn't:
I watched the group of teenagers through the window. They sat around in a few chairs and talked with each other. I wanted to hear their words for some strange reason. I put my ear against the window and could make them out.
“She was amazing,” Emily said. All of a sudden, she jumped slightly, in a frightened way. “Nobody is…doing anything to me, correct?”
Sally and Cameron shook their heads. Emily sighed.
“He's back then,” she said flatly.
Cameron groaned. “I hate that he always tortures us. Why can't he just leave us alone for once in the rest of his short life?”
The girls laughed and Cameron winced.
“He's angry,” he said in a somewhat pained tone.
“His temper is not easy for him to control so it's no surprise. He hasn't-” Sally slammed back into her chair as if an invisible force forced her to. She sighed. “Never mind.”
“Where is this creep? Should we go try to find him?” Emily asked.
“No, that hadn't gone well in the past. Don't you remember?” Cameron asked.
“Right,” Emily stated. “Don't mess with him when he's messing with us, but it's alright to mess with him when he isn't messing with us.”
“Exactly.”
Sally laughed, though it sounded sad. “We should not have to deal with this all the time. Why is he so annoying and why is he so angry? I mean what happened to him.”
“He's old and single and has his strange ways,” Emily replied. “He has reasons to be mad. I mean, I bet you would be mad if you were like him and your only delight was messing with kids and gaining power.”
“Power is so overrated. Let's just go try to show him we're done with dealing with this,” Cameron said. He stood up and the girls followed him to the other room.
I was confused and wanted to listen some more. Who was this guy? Why was he doing these things to them? Most importantly, could I become like him and try to annoy these horrible teens too? I hoped so, because they had gotten on my nerves for a long time and I wanted to give them payback.
Reader knows what the characters don't:
The dark wizard was after them. He had been for years, but they didn't know this. They thought their lives were perfectly normal. They weren't. They had magical capabilities that they didn't know about. These magical capabilities were important. With them, they could help stop the world from being utterly destroyed, but they would have to learn that they existed first then practice; a lot. Meanwhile, the house was being disturbed and the group of teenagers were freaking out. I knew it was the wizard, but they didn't. Besides, I could never talk to these three, so who knew how long until they would know everything. But I watched as they jumped and screamed.
“Guys! Stop messing with me.” This is how it began. Emily yelled at her friends to stop, but they protested.
“What are you talking about, Em?” Cameron asked. “We aren't doing anything.”
“Right, ‘cause I totally believe that,” she replied.
“I’m not doing it,” Sally said. “What the heck? Someone touched me!” She turned to stare at the only boy. “It's you, Can, isn't it?”
“I'm not doing anything! Did either of you see me touch the other?” he asked.
“No,” Emily muttered. “But-”
“What the- something touched me too!” Cameron exclaimed.
They looked at each other with wide eyes, full of fear, and glanced around the room.
“There's nobody there,” Cameron said.
“That means-” Emily began. She screamed and another followed hers, coming from Sally. Cameron looked as white as a ghost.
“What's going on?” Cameron yelled out. “If someone is playing a joke on us, you're going to be sorry. I will make you pay.”
No reply came and the girls let out high-pitched screams again. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the tall wizard ducking behind a chair. Eerie black mist came from his fingers. He smirked as the girls screamed and Cameron jumped ten feet into the air. He was so clearly enjoying it and I didn't blame him. Torturing those brats; it sounded like a whole lot of fun.

Cabin Wars (7/10):
I led him upstairs, holding his hand. When we got in my room, he sat down on my bed and laid back, letting out a groan.
“Are you ok?” I asked.
He nodded slightly and rubbed his eyes. “Yep, I'm fine. I'm just tired.”
“How come?” I asked.
“School work, work work.”
“I'm sorry. Is it my fault? Am I also contributing to your tiredness?”
He sat up. “What? No.”
“I just feel like you spend too much time with me and then you don't have time for your other things, like school work. It's ok if you need more time for that. I would understand.”
“Hal, stop. I promise you, that isn't true, ok?” Come sit by me.“
I crossed the room and sat down on my bed next to him. He put his arm around me and kissed the side of my head.
”I'm so glad you're mine,“ he said softly.
I simpered, though I doubt he saw it. ”I'm glad I'm yours too.“
He rubbed my arm. ”How was school?“
”Good,“ I replied. ”I would've rather been with you though.“
”I know you enjoy school though.“
I shrugged. ”Not so much.“
”Since when?“
”Since you and I started dating. Since I found out my mom was alive. I only turned to academics because I missed my mom and I had no friends at school.“
”It still hurts me to think about that. It will never happen again though, I promise you that. But you're smart nonetheless, so school shouldn't be that bad.“
”It shouldn't hurt you, Hud. That was the past. Focus on now. The present. I'm happy and I hope you are too.“
”I am happy, but that's only because I have you here.“
I looked up at him. ”Why are you so sweet?“ I caressed his cheek.
”Because it's easy to be sweet with you.“
I leaned towards him and he moved his head down so I could kiss him. Afterwards, he laid back down and pulled me towards his chest.
”Are people being nice to you?“ he asked quietly.
I sighed. Not exactly, but I didn't want to tell him that. ”They're fine.“
”Hal, is that the truth?“
I shook my head. ”Alisha is still giving me a hard time about you.“
”I wish I could physically fight her.“ He sighed. ”I'm sorry, Hallee. She'll be gone soon though.“
”Right.“
”And how are things with Christy?“
”Like normal.“
”That's good.“
”You and Asher? What about Kevin?“
”Asher and I talk some on the phone or text, but it can be hard since he now lives in a different time zone. Kevin and I are fine.“
”Where did you meet him again?“
”On campus. We talked about music, actually, and then we became friends and decided to be roommates too. He's a good roommate. He can be annoying, but so can everyone.“
”Especially me, I bet.“
He hit my arm lightly. ”You are not usually annoying, Hallee.“
I sighed. ”Ok, I'll pretend to believe you.“
”Don't pretend. Do believe me."

Cabin Wars (7/10) (Again):
My mind is blurry fog
Worries race through
My mind feels full
When will my worries stop
My mind feels stupid
Why am I worrying
None of my worries are realistic
But still
My mind keeps telling me that everything is real
That fires will roar like lions
That they’ll dance around the house
With a loud crackle
That people will be hurt
That we won’t get out in time
The past was traumatizing
My mind knows that
So I will still worry
Christy and I went to the training building. We ate our boring breakfast first then went our separate ways. When I got there, I found mostly all of my group except Hudson. He came in a few minutes after though and stood by me. He didn’t acknowledge me right now because Mr. Douglass was telling us what to do. When he was finally done, he let us go. Obviously my partner pick was Hudson.
“Hey, you. Did you sleep well last night?” he asked.
I nodded and hugged him quickly. Mr. Douglass usually got mad when we were showing each other affection and I really didn’t want him to be mad again. Hudson embraced me in his strong arms then quickly pushed away.
“Alright, ready, Hal?”
“Ready.”
We went to wrap our hands then went to the floor. We began throwing punches at each other. We practiced with each other everyday and were getting pretty good.
“So, we obviously have training all day until dinner, but for dinner, where do you want to eat?” Hudson asked.
“Wherever you are,” I replied.
“Hal, I’m serious. Do you want to eat in the dining hall with everyone else or take our food…somewhere else?”
“Obviously go somewhere else. I’d rather be alone with you.”
He smiled. “Alright then.” He punched me in the arm and I winced. He smirked.
“I will get you back.”
“Mhm, go ahead.” He stopped his hands.
“I’m not doing it when you want me to, I’ll do it when I want to.”
“Alright, as long as you’re happy, Hal.”
I rolled my eyes. “Stop.”
“What? I’m not doing anything.”
“You’re making me less mad at you.”
“Hal, you were actually mad? I’m sorry. I was just training.”
“Whatever. Let’s practice something else.”
“Like swimming.”
I scowled at him. “Hudson!”
He laughed. “I’m sorry, Hallee. It was just too easy.”
“I don’t really like you at the moment.”
“I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t like myself right now either if I was so annoying.”
“Just come on. Let’s practice with the swords.”
“What, why? You don’t need practice with those. You beat me everytime.”
“Exactly, Hud.”
I walked over to the wall where the weapons hung from and took a long, skinny blade down from it. I walked back over to Hudson.
“Go get your blade.”
He looked into my eyes for a second then slowly began to walk over to the wall. He got a blade very similar to mine and approached me cautiously.
My blade came at him quickly and he almost didn’t block himself in time. I smirked and let my blade down again. He pushed my sword off of his and came at me, but I blocked him. I came at him a third time, though he blocked it. Again, he came at me, I blocked, I came at him, he blocked. Over and over again, we swung and blocked.
I was beginning to move him towards the wall. Great. I could corner him. We kept moving that direction until finally, his back hit the wall. He looked behind him. I grinned and hit my sword against his while he was caught off guard. It fell to the ground. I put my sword to his neck and he looked into my eyes.
“Ok, ok. You won again. I don’t want to be killed,” he said.
I smiled and leaned over to kiss him. “I won’t try that again.”
“Good. Do you wanna know something? I like you. A lot. Your competitive side is very adorable.”
I smiled. “Thank you.”
Now I do not know what to write so I am just going to type random things until I hit 1000 words. I have 600 something right now, I think. I really like cabin wars, they are fun. I don’t like that Adventure, our allies keep stabbing us in the back and giving us wars. Like why are they doing it. Alyelle said it's because we seemed vulnerable, and maybe we did, but we are allies for crying out loud. They shouldn’t keep stabbing us in the back. Oh well, at least it’s keeping us busy. Also, I need to update my word goal again. I am getting too close to it and that isn’t good…anyway, it is pretty smoky outside and I do not like it because it makes my nose and throat hurt and it looks bad and it isn’t good for us or animals to be outside, so now we can hardly go outside. Good thing we have air purifiers so we can breathe. I now need like 200 words, so yeah. I like to write. It is very fun. My sister and dad are in the same room. My dad just left, he is now coming back. I do not know what he is doing, but my sister is writing and I think I may set up a Scratch account for her so she can participate in SWC next session, or maybe she can use one of my alternative accounts, I don’t know. Ok, less than 100 words. Come on, I got this. Come on. Let’s go. Real-Fi is so awesome, we have an amazing cabin and amazing leaders and everyone is nice, but then again, I think everyone participating in SWC is pretty nice. I wonder if I got my words yet…let me check. Nope, not quite. Keep going. Almost there. Am I going to post this? I will, I guess, but this is so bad and so random and I don’t even know why I couldn’t have done a regular story. Also, there is lots of noise coming from the kitchen. I wonder what is going on. Ok I am going to check again. YES! I GOT THERE!
My mind is blurry fog

Cabin Wars (7/10) (Againnnnn):
You look into the mirror. Your reflection isn’t pleasing you. The messy, dirty blonde hair, flawed skin, and…brown eyes? Since when have you had brown eyes? For as long as you can remember, your eyes have been blue. But they are now very obviously brown. You almost scream. What happened? How can your eyes be this color? They can’t just change color overnight, can they? That’s impossible, right? Right? You want answers.
You were just about to leave the bathroom to avoid freaking out when you are stopped by an invisible force. You try to continue forward, but can’t. Your eyes fill with bright colors and you can’t see in front of you anymore. You feel dizzy and grab onto the counter so you don’t fall over. All of a sudden, the colors fade and you can see again, though you still feel like you could pass out. The bathroom is replaced by a small room. The dizziness subsides. You wonder how you got here. You look around and notice it seems very familiar.
Two young girls appear, one with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes and one with light brown hair and blue eyes. You recognize them both. One of them is a younger version of you and the other is a younger version of your little sister. Why are you seeing them? Is this a dream? It seems much too real to be a dream, but what if it is?
Your younger self starts to talk and you pay attention.
“Are you alright, Ray?” you had asked your sister.
“I’m worried about Mother,” she had replied. “She has been gone for a long time. What if she never gets back?”
You gulped, but continued to watch.
“She will, I know it.” You had hugged your younger sister and she hugged you back for a long moment before you pulled away from each other.
Everything disappeared and you found yourself back in the bathroom. You remembered that day perfectly now. It was a memory you were in. You had no idea how you had gotten there, but you saw it nonetheless. Your Mother hadn’t made it back unfortunately, and she died.
You looked back into the mirror to find that your eyes were no longer brown, but they weren’t blue. They were now green. You wonder, again, what is going on before becoming, not dizzy, but more stable. You never thought a feeling like that was possible. You see black and white in your eyes instead of colors. In a second, the black and white leaves your eyes and you see the bathroom once again. It is again replaced by some other setting. The same small room as in your memory, only this time, there are not young girls in it, there is you, at the same age as now, and your sister, who is only a couple years younger than you, but the same age she is now as well. Your father walks in the room, holding a newspaper in his hand. A grim look is spread across his face.
“Hello, Father,” you greet him.
“Hello, Father,” your sister repeats.
He smiled slightly at you, but it quickly faded. “Hello, Dil. Hello, Ray.” He touches both of your shoulders with a light hand before walking towards the small kitchen.
“Father, what is the matter?” Ray asks.
His expression becomes even more somber. He turns around to face you and your sister then sits down on one of the small chairs.
“Girls,” he began. “I-I lost my job today.”
You feel your heart sink double the amount that it usually would. Is it both of your hearts?
“Father-” you begin.
Before you can hear what you were going to say, you find yourself back in the bathroom. What did you just see? It certainly was no memory. But what was it, if it wasn’t a memory. You have no idea. You feel confused, but are worried about what you saw. You begin to panic, but you don’t get very far. You lose consciousness quickly.

Main Cabin Daily (7/11):
We look at the famous monument everyday. It’s easy to see. The Statue of Liberty. A symbol of freedom and justice. But we often asked ourselves, “are we free?” Does freedom really exist or is it just something people said existed because that’s what they want to think? We are never truly free. In order to have real freedom, there would have to be no government, no laws, no control. Absolute chaos. Maybe that wouldn’t work with society, but it might as well. I often wondered why they even kept that statue. But every time, it hits me. They keep it to remind us of the thing they want us to believe. They keep it to brainwash these people into believing lies!
I looked down at my hands. Was I really trying to convince myself again? It must’ve been obvious because Taren put a hand on my back.
“Stop it, Sariah. You know the truth. We all do, even if the others in this world doubt it,” she told me.
I nodded slightly. She removed her heavy hand.
“We have got to keep going,” Wilmar said. He looked at both of us. “Come on.”
I continued to follow my friends. More like my family, I suppose. We were all there for each other for a long time. We had to keep running from the law. Fighting for our freedom.
We walked for a long while, keeping the cursed statue in our view. It was our guide even if we loathed it.
Sirens sounded soon and I looked to my friends. The slightest bit of worry appeared in their faces.
“Are they coming for us?” I asked quietly.
Taren looked up at Wilmar. “We don't know. They could be.”
“We shouldn't be getting in trouble because we want real freedom,” I said.
“Right, but the police don't understand,” Taren replied.
“Nobody does. They were all brainwashed,” Wilmar said bitterly.
I sighed. We continued to walk, in silence again. The sirens sounded closer. My heart began to beat faster and more heavily. They most likely weren't coming for us, right? We hadn't done something that bad. Only robbed a few places. Sure, we held guns, but we haven't used them before.
Wilmar and Taren kept shooting each other worried glances. They usually kept me out of lots of their conversations and looks because I was younger than them. They were like my older siblings. They protected me from danger. And danger there was.
“Are they coming for us?” I asked.
Taren looked down at me. “It could be someone else.”
“Taren, you know it isn't. Don't lie to her. She is old enough to know what's going on, you know.” Wilmar's eyes met mine. “Sariah, we have done some things that the rest of these insane people are not okay with and Taren and I are pretty sure that they're searching for us. If not, it's luck. But if we are caught, our fight will not end. We will continue to fight for what we believe in. We will break out and make freedom possible.”

“What are you doing with that?!”
“With what?”
“That thing… in your hand! Don’t play innocent with me. That thing you are holding may cause the destruction of this whole world!”
His eyes narrowed on her. “I was just… examining it. No need to be hasty.”
“Then put it down.”
“I can’t do that.”
“How come?”
He sighed and looked down at the floor. “Because this cube is the key to everything.” He turned back towards her.
“And what is that everything?! Is it destroying the world?! I won’t let you do that!”
“You don’t have to let me. I never asked for your permission.”
“I promise you, you will be stopped if it’s the last thing I do.”
“Are you really strong enough to do that? I have this, after all.” He wiggled the cube in her face and she felt herself hold her breath.
“Stop. Don’t do that.”
“What?” He shook it again. “Does it scare you?”
“Stop!”
He smirked. “Alright. Please, inform me on your plan to stop me. I want to know how pathetic you can possibly get.”
“Why would I ever tell you my plan?”
He stroked his chin and narrowed his eyes on her again. “I-”
He was interrupted by a rattling sound. They turned. The door was shaking. It was as though someone was trying to break into the room.
He put the cube down and went to the door. Really, it was that easy? Was he that stupid? She suppressed a laugh and lifted the cube up in her hand. This man… she couldn’t believe him! How, no why… Why would he have done that? Given her the cube so easily. She smirked as he turned back. His face was full of surprise and… rage? Her smirk grew.
“That wasn’t so hard, was it?” she asked.
“Give it to me!” he exclaimed.
She shook her head. “No, you’re the one who was stupid enough to let me have it.” She fingered the cube. It tingled as it touched each of her fingers again and again.
“I-” he began, but stopped suddenly. “I’m sorry, but I refuse to do this. I’m done acting.”
She raised her eyebrows.
“That’s fake.” He grinned. “You have the fake one. This,” he pulled an identical cube out of his pocket, “is the real one. I was just playing with you, trying to see if you would be smart enough to get it. Apparently not, I see.”
Her mouth was opened in a wide “o”.
“And now, I’m going to make you watch as I destroy the entire world.” He threw the cube down onto the floor, smashing it. A sudden force knocked both of them to the ground. Her last thought as she lay there dying was how ignorant she had been. Then, with a last breath, she felt her body die.

Main Cabin Daily (7/14):
Words: spoon, magic wand, kitchen, elf.
Lyira stormed into the kitchen.
“Why is nothing ready for me to eat?” she demanded.
A young elf, Elvie, appeared from behind the counter. “I-I’m sorry, Mistress,” she squeaked. “Please, forgive me. I was just trying to find the right recipe for you-”
“I don’t care what the recipe is! All I want is something to eat! I have been gone for a week, getting barely anything to eat! When I come home from something like that, I expect you to make me something– anything. Just hurry up!”
“Yes, Mistress.”
Lyira left the room, heading upstairs to her tower. That silly elf. She should’ve been fired quite a while ago. Elvie should be glad she still had a mistress. It would be hard for her to find work if she kept on acting like… whatever she was acting like.
Lyira pulled a long, thin magic wand from her pocket. This wand had been with her for a long time. Since she was twelve. She could’ve gotten a new one, but this one was too sentimental to replace. It had been with her through everything. Killing the wicked wizard, trying to save her dear mother from dying, creating a hideaway. She had to keep it.
Lyira fingered it then let a spell fly out of it, hitting the soft mattress. Feathers flew out of it. She decided maybe she should practice on something else, so she aimed for the wall. Unless she did a very powerful spell, it shouldn’t break. She let another spell fly out of the wand and it did hit the wall this time. As she had thought, nothing happened to the wall, so she continued until the door opened. Lyira turned suddenly, frightened, and a spell came out of the wand. It went past the young elf and through the doorway. Elvie gasped.
“Mistress, I didn’t mean to-” Elvie began.
“Bring it in and set it on the bed,” Lyira interrupted.
She nodded slightly, letting out a squeak, then set the meal down on the bed. Lyira sat next to it and lifted the wooden spoon to her lips. She slurped the warm stew. It- what was it? It tasted foul. Lyira spat it out and dropped the spoon on the ground.
“Whatever is this?” she demanded.
“It's a quick stew. I had no time to make anything more, Mistress,” Elvie replied.
“Well, it’s utterly disgusting. Make something else!” Lyira pointed the wand at the spoon and destroyed it. “And bring a new spoon! This one is contaminated and destroyed!”
“Yes, Mistress. Sorry, Mistress.” Elvie left the room quickly. She looked as though she was about to cry.
“That useless elf,” Lyira muttered. She should just fire her once and for all. But something in her heart kept telling her no. She didn’t know what, but maybe this once, she would listen to her heart and give Elvie more chances than she deserved.

In-Cabin Daily (7/14):
I didn’t like being a shadow. I had been all day. I had to follow the owner around all day. I had no choice. I belonged to them. I had just woken up on the ground, flat and unlike myself. Almost a copy of the owner except not as exact and not as detailed. It was horrible. I was burnt by the sun. Around noon I disappeared, though I was still there. I was still following the owner around, even though no one could see me. I was stepped on by strangers and even the owner. This hurt my feelings and my flat, dark body. When the sun finally moved, I was short and stubby. Hardly anyone could see me, but I was still stepped on. Oh, how I felt bad for all of the shadows that had to stay like this forever. Or at least, I hoped I didn’t have to stay like this forever. I wouldn’t be able to do that. I would go insane. I hated being treated like… a shadow. Neglected. Like trash. Like nothing. Shadows mean something! They have feelings. But they’re treated so poorly. Throughout the day, the sun moved, causing me to look different until finally, the sun disappeared behind the buildings. I blended into the sidewalk, being shadowed as well. Then, I was stepped on more. I couldn’t believe this! Why couldn’t I just be free and stop having to follow this person everywhere they went! I had tried to run away many times, but shadows were unable to move from their owner. So, I was stuck. I knew I was stuck, but I kept trying to run. To get away. To get out of the horrible nightmare. Nightmare? I hadn’t thought of that. Was this a nightmare? Could I feel things in it? No, I doubted it. If you could feel pain, it was not a nightmare. So, I guess this was real life. Retched real life. I wished it had been a nightmare. I wanted out! When it was finally dark, the owner walked home and went to sleep. There was no more need for me, so I hoped my life would go back to normal. The person fell to sleep and I did too, though I wanted to stay up to see what happened. And, when I woke up, I found myself back in my room. Back to my normal life. So, I guess I was just experiencing what it would be like as a shadow for a day.

In-Cabin Daily (from poetry- 7/15):
So, we switched cabins for the day, that's why this is a poetry in-cabin daily…
I am stressed about school things. I’m not even in school, but I’m afraid I won’t choose my electives in time and be stuck in things I don’t want to be in or that my parents will make me do band even though I don’t want to. I’m also quite worried about fires nearby. And there’s a red flag warning for where I live, so what if another fire starts. It scares me to think about, so I try not to, but it’s hard.
