Weekly - 11th of July - 18th of July

Activity 1
I got a lightning bolt, ball, girl (‘Monet’) and rays as a background. The rays look like they could be some sort of void. So, I interpreted it as a girl was playing with her rubber ball, when a lightning bolt struck it. This caused a void to open up, and the rubber ball fell in. The girl loved her ball, and so she jumped in after it to try and find it. When she jumped in, she landed in a magical looking field and needed to find her ball. (To be continued)

Monet was playing happily in the garden. Her short pink hair brushed on her shoulders as the bright orange ball flew past. She would have been an odd sight to most, with her green gloves and shoes, blue uniform and label. Her parents had told her many times she could wear something else, but she always wore it. It made her feel like a real scientist, like the ones she saw on TV, traveling throughout time and space. The ball hit the wall again, then landed back in her head, soaking wet. Monet tilted her head and looked up into the sky. “Yes! Rain!” she called out gleefully.

Not a moment later, the rain started pouring down. Thunder rumbled from within the clouds, Monet loved thunder. After a moment of splashing in the quickly formed puddles, she went back to throwing the rubber ball. Crack! Boom! Splash! Went the sounds of the storm. Flash! Lighting, everywhere.

“Monet, come inside!” she heard her mother shouting.

“Coming! I just need to get my ball!” she replied, turning around just in time to see a bright, yellow lightning bolt. She shut her eyes quickly, the bright light was painful. After a moment or two, she decided it was safe to open them. The crisp smell of burning surrounded her, as well as smoke. She could hardly see through the thick clouds, but she needed the ball!

As quick as they came, they disappeared. The clouds were gone, and Monet had a perfect view of where the ball was, but she couldn’t move. Her instincts were telling her to stay still, so she did. Rain pitter-pattered, drops rolling down her face and soaking her hair. BANG! Something was happening, the floor beneath her started swirling, but even more so where the ball was. Now her instincts were telling her one thing. RUN!
She ran to safe ground but kept looking back at her orange ball. Something was around it, like… electricity. It must have been struck by lightning, that wasn’t good.

The ground started shaking again, Monet closed her eyes in fear.

Minutes passed by, and finally she opened them again. The first thing she noticed was her ball was gone, but where?! Then she noticed the ground, it was like a… a whirlpool! Or a void! Just like in the TV shows, she had to go save the ball, it must have fallen in. She was certain of it.
Hands shaking, Monet put one foot in, it sunk like in water. “Here goes…” she took a deep breath and jumped in, falling down, down, down. The sky was bright blue here, and the clouds fluffy. She reached out to touch them, but kept falling.
She landed on soft grass with a thud, but was surprisingly in no pain. She quickly stood up to inspect the area. It seemed… okay. Calm. Empty. There was nothing but green hills for miles, no signs of human life, only flower patches here and there. But Monet had one mission, and one mission only. Find the orange ball.

This is really late, but I wrote it for SWC July and just found it so hey, may as well post it right?

MCD - 2/11/2021

You cannot ask someone indecisive to pick a favorite pudding. There are so many yummy desserts. For example, the cookie. There are so many ways to make them, decorate them, eat them. Let alone the variety of flavors. There’s the classic chocolate-chip cookie, a popular choice for many cookie-lovers. There are branded cookies, such as Oreos. I was doing some research on Oreos and found they have three catchphrases. There was “Wonderfilled,” which I’ve actually never heard. “Milk’s favorite cookie,” believable enough, and lastly “Only Oreo.” This isn’t true, because like I said, there are lots of cookies. At this point you’re probably thinking, is Fox rambling about random cookies for no reason? The answer is yes. Now, I’ll talk about one more cookie type before moving on to the next pudding. Melting Moments. Different places might call them different things, but oh my goodness they are delicious. No joke though, they are so good. Probably my favorite type of cookie. Alright, alright. Next pudding. Cakes. I’d be surprised you didn’t like any cake, most people like at least one flavor. I’m not a big fan of red velvet, but I love chocolate cake. I’m neutral on vanilla, it’s not bad, it just could be better. The best part of cupcakes isn’t the cake though, it’s the frosting. Some frostings are so good you may buy the cake simply, so you have an excuse to eat the frosting. Others are not so good… One time I was making frosting with my friend, we didn’t have enough sugar, so we just halved it. We forgot to half the butter. I will never make that mistake again, it was funny but gross. Anyway, another type of cake is similar to the next pudding I’ll talk about. Ice-cream-cake. I remember the first time I had it; it was pretty good. It’s not the best pudding in the world, but sometimes it’s just what you need. Now, ice cream. To those of you who can go to an ice-cream store and pick which flavor without having to spend 10 minutes trying different ones and trying to make up your mind, consider yourself lucky. Part 2 will maybe come soon

Pansies and Violas
Writing Competition Entry

Frosty, a pure-bred ragdoll cat, slowly stalked her way along the garden, her warmly lit house getting smaller and smaller as she travelled further and further away from it. She lived in a cosy cottage surrounded by flowers, always watered, and receiving the perfect amount of sunshine for them to blossom. Pansies and violas were blooming this season, one of Frosty’s favourite types of flowers, perfect for snow. It had been snowing softly for the past few hours. Frosty loved it, she was allowed to run around outside and play in the garden with all the soft, frozen water. But now, she had one mission. After what seemed like hours of ambulating through the snow, motivated by the thought of seeing her again soon, Frosty finally arrived at the small alleyway the pair had first met, she looked it up and down through big, beautiful blue eyes, waiting for her love to arrive.

On the other side of town, a short, ginger cat perambulated through the empty streets of the city. Large buildings caused shadows to tower over the cat like monsters of the dark, waiting for the right time to pounce. Her chest filled with the cold winter air as she sung out a song for her beloved ragdoll.
“I love you,
I’ll spend all night walking for just a moment with you.
I’ll fight those in my way, because I know we are true
I love you,
I know you’ll never leave me for another.
I know I can trust you, we’ll be together forever.
I love you,
I can’t imagine us being apart.
I can’t remember before I met you, then doesn’t matter.
I love you,
Don’t forget me while you’re waiting.
I love you,
Wait for me I’ll be coming soon.”
It may not have been the most inspirational, heart-felt, or pleasant to the ears song anyone’s heard, but to Noodles, it meant everything. She finished the last line, took a deep breath, and turned down the alleyway. She could already scent Frosty was there, and it was no surprise when the smoky cat pounced on her.
“Hey there pretty,” the playful she-cat purred to a beaming Noodle.
“Frozzie,” the other cat giggled, touching noses with the other cat. “Where are we going tonight sweetness?”
“I figured we could just go for a walk. The no-furs seem to be away for the most part tonight. Come on, follow moi!”
They chased after each other, running through the empty-ish roads, jumping onto fences. It all seemed good and well, they were having the time of their lives. That was until Frosty got her paw stuck in the fence.
“Oh good job!” Noodle teased, not realizing the amount of fear building up in Frosty’s head as tears began to roll down the ironically frozen feline. No matter how hard she pulled, her paw wouldn’t come free. The fence had stopped her. Forever? No, no. That couldn’t be.
“N-Noodle,” she croaked as the cat pranced along the fence, singing the song loudly.
Her head whipped around as fast as an ice skater, she took one look at Frosty and ran over, yowling loud and random directions and instructions at the poor cat.
She stared into her eyes, unspoken words said everything, one soft gaze and Frosty jumped. She jumped off the fence onto the pavement. It had worked. She’d pulled her paw out. She looked up at Noodle, a small smirk on her face as she quickly rubbed the tears away. “Proud of me?”
“Always.”
Noodle leaped down next to the cat and smiled softly at her. “I’m so, so proud of you. But, I can’t do this anymore. I can’t trap you with me. You need to move on Frosty!”
Images flashed in Frosty’s mind. A… a car, a road, Noodle, her big eyes so full of life and- and romantic gestures, and in a moment. One single second, it was all gone.
“No, NO!” Frosty screamed, the world started spinning, although that may have been her as she searched desperately for Noodle. She was there, wasn’t she? Singing the song. She had to sing the song again. She wanted to hear the song!
Tears fell down her cheeks again.
“Noodle where are you!”
These words echoed down the endless highways as the ghost smiled, “I am here. I am everywhere. I love you, forever. But it’s time to let go. When you’re ready, I’ll be here. But until then, do this for me. Live fully.”
And with that, Noodle was gone. She was only a memory, nostalgia constantly playing in the back of Frosty’s mind as she continued with her life, doing as Noodle had said.
The song could still be heard in the streets sometimes, “I love you, I’ll spend all night walking for just a moment with you. I’ll fight those in my way, because I know we are true. I love you, I know you’ll never leave me for another. I know I can trust you, we’ll be together forever.”

Daily 26/11/2021
Today I took a break from screens and read the Hunger Games I like the book, while it doesn’t seem like the most relaxing story, it is relaxing to read and also healthy. I’ve watched all the movies and although they’re really good, the books are so much better. I’m not joking, the books have so many extra scenes that explain in so much detail how the games work, why they happen, what Katniss’ past with Peta is like. There are even extra characters like the mayors daughter who was apparently Katniss’ only friend? Anyway, it was very enjoyable and I liked this daily. Thank you.

WEEKLY

PART ONE
Mira strolled up the stairs casually, a question quickly crossing her mind as she heard a scream from the basement. ‘What’s happened to the otter?’ She dashed up into the great emperors room in which Fox was sitting on Elle’s bed, gossiping with her.
“Oh, hey Mira!” Fox called cheerfully, turning to see a very tired looking Mira standing at the door. “Come over here,” she smiled, patting the space on the bed next to her.
“N-No, I-“ she gasped for air and stumbled into the mighty room, filled with all sorts of small details. Drapes hung over the tall windows, tiny lines of gold spiralled across them. Sunlight pierced through the tiny gaps in which Elle had forgotten to close them completely with. The purple carpet had a few random stains, nobody knew what they were from, however Daisy definitely seemed to be the main suspect.
“Mira? Whats up?” Elle asked curiously, moving over so Mira could sit in the middle of the three.
“Otter! Where-“ another yell from the doorway interrupted her suddenly as Codi burst through.
“HEYYY.”
“Hii!” Fox and Elle replied simultaneously, sounding almost as if they were singing it back. Mira on the other hand, was still trying to catch her breath. She clutched at her sides and managed to cry out “Where’s the otter!?”
Codi turned her head towards Mira suddenly. “Uhh, /where is it?/” she agreed, beginning to fear for the innocent animal.
“Oh, Daisy’s looking after it.” Fox replied casually as she turned to plait Elle’s hair, confused as to why everyone seemed to be stressing over it. After all, it was being looked after! Then it hit her. Daisy was looking after it. She looked up at Mira and Codi’s shocked faces.
“Daisy, being responsible for an animal?”
“Get ready for chaos.” Elle giggled, pointing at the bed on the left.
Mira slowly walked over to it and pulled up the sheets, ducking her head under it. “Oh Daisy.”
“HI MIRA!” she shout-whispered while trying to get the beloved Otter to jump through the hoop. “No, JUMP, don’t crawl! And for your information,” she turned and gave Mira a death-stare, “I am very responsible and can definitely look after an animal.”
“Told ya’ she’s got it covered,” Fox called out.
“YEAH I CAN TAKE GREAT CARE OF A OTTER!” Daisy winked, picking up the small creature.
“An Daisy. It’s an otter.” Elle sighed.
“THAT’S WHAT I SAID.”
“No- You know what, never mind. Almost done Fox?”
“Yep, anyone got a hair tie?”
“Fox we have bigger issues than that.” Mira replied with one eyebrow raised.
“Such as?”
“Daisy doesn’t know when to use ‘a’ or ‘an’.”
“Oh right.”
“YES I DO.” Daisy shouted, standing up quite suddenly and stomping over to the door like a small child having a tantrum. She yanked the handle and seemed like she was going to slam the door, but just before it made a noise she stopped it and shut it quietly. “I’m very responsible, aren’t I little Otter? I can look after you!” she rambled as Fox, Mira and Elle giggled. Codi laughed and ran out of the door, chasing after Daisy so she could have a turn holding the Otter.

PART TWO
Elle looked around the rubble of the once-great roman empire. With a heavy sigh she walked towards the crumbling stairs, imagining what was once there. Great big walls with magnificent windows and purple drapes. Small gold lining around parts of the castle, gigantic rooms with all sorts of trinkets, weapons ready to be rushed into battle. Large flags attached to a stick poking out of the towers, now crumpled on the floor. Deeply detailed paintings covering the inside of every wall, ethereal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, each candle upon it lit with a sparkling, dazzling flame. Old wooden tables that now lay around the rubble, rotting into nothing but splinters once held the most magnificent meals for all of the empire to enjoy. Elle fell backwards, the beauty of the place overwhelming her. She would do it. She would build back the empire.
Now, after Elle, Daisy and Juli built the breathtaking building back, helping it to rise from the ashes like a Phoenix, they held a feast to welcome the soldiers. In the substantial dining room sat thirty chairs, fifteen on each side of the long, long table. Everyone gathered around and sat at their seat, with Elle, Daisy and Juli at the head of the table. The soldiers looked around through excited eyes at all the detail the emperors had put into rebuilding the place. Each soldier shared a room with four others, except for the emperors of course. The soldiers squealed in excitement as they were excused from the dinner to go explore the castle, finding all sorts of places, basements, gardens with perfectly decorated bush’s, a charming bath that everyone assumed was a pool due to its size, rooms filled with cushions and mirrors and tall roofs, spiralling marble stairs scattered around, the palace was absolutely prepossessing.

PART THREE[/b
You walk around the cobblestoned streets wondering where you are. There are curious buildings sprawled alongside the road, you see a sign pointing straight in-front. It reads “to the emperors” you're curious about these so called “emperors” you're suddenly filled with a brimming desire to find out and you make your way down the path. Suddenly, you stumble upon a giant palace-like structure with towering domes and stunning arches. Three girls await you at the door, the one in the middle gestures for you to come in, “Welcome to the Hi-Fi empire, please, follow me this way.”
You look around at the beautiful place with purple carpets and follow the girls into the Hi-Fi empire. “Hello hello!” one very energetic-seeming emperor shouted at you. “Welcome, you’re going to have so much fun here!” she giggled.
“Daisy’s right, but not too much fun okay? We still need to win all our wars and get our cabin- I mean empire, to be as respected as possible. How can you do this? Well, you have to do one simple thing. Write. Write like your blooming life depends on it. Set yourself a word goal, and write. But don’t forget to sleep!”
“And drink water!” a voice calls from somewhere mysterious in the castle.
“That’s Fox.” The first girl, Daisy, tells you.
“Mhm.” Elle, the second girl, continues. “So as I was saying, these people will form close bonds with you over the next month. Don’t forget to tell your specific emperor how many words you have so she can add them to the giant word counter! Now that you understand it all, Juli will take you in for a castle tour, followed by lunch. Then, you get to socialize with your fellow soldiers!”
“Socialize? Gee Elle, you’re sounded very word-y today.”
“Okay Daisy thank you. Juli.” She nodded at the last emperor who had been quite silent until then.
“Come with me.” She smiled warmly at you, her words seeming as if they should have been sung her voice was so sweet. “You’re going to love it here. Everyone does-“
Right as she said that, someone came running past you screaming “I NEED TO WRITE I NEED TO WRITE. THIS CABINS CRISPY! CRISPY HI-FI! NEED TO WRITE A STORY BASED ON IT.”
Juli giggled softly. “Don’t you worry, they’re just having fun.” Although you may have begun to doubt the saneness of the soldiers, Juli’s sweet and loving smile was enough to make you sure everything was going to be okay, and you would have an unbelievably fun time in the empire.

PART FOUR
Daizy and Fox sat together, hand in hand having a picnic. They were married at last. Sure, Daizys parents and siblings and basically everyone had forced her to say yes, and sure Fox had to abandon her parents on the Marriage bot just to marry Daizy because otherwise Daizy would be her aunt, but that didn’t matter now. Now, they were together. Forever? Fox sure did hope so, but her hopes were about to be destroyed in a horrible tale, there would be love, war, fighting, no death, but heartbreak. The death of a love that had been forced on one side, and horrible. Because as the two sat there eating strawberries and cream singing the little lad dance, Fox had no idea Daizy thought of her as purely a friend and that she’d never truly wanted to get married. All of a sudden, Daisy and Elle appeared skipping merrily out of a bush. “Heyyyy guys!” Daisy giggled, looking at the two of them. “You guys are so cute!”
“Oh for the love of- the lord.” She hesitated, remembering Daisys very strict swearing rules. “Daisy just don’t.”
“Aww why not Daizedy.” Fox asked using her nickname for Daizy (that annoyed her a lot).
“Because- because- I WANT A DIVORCE!” she shouted, the words echoing around the field the two were in.
“Is it in case your cabin finds out and we get in trouble for being in opposite cabins? Daizedy, Elle and Daisy accept it, in fact they’re like our biggest supporters.”
“Well Fox, in all honesty I always ship you and Daisy. It’s just that the Daisy and Elle ship is way better.”
Fox nodded, she couldn’t disagree with that, Daisy and Elle was both a funny and adorable relatitonship.
“Okay well then why did you want to break up with me?”
