Hiya!

I would like a member of the scratch team to answer this and maybe consider it an FAQ so that people in need of help can ask this.

Today I tried looking at a stash of pictures dedicated to my favorite singer using my profile picture…which I shouldn't have done because then something happened.

On my profile, my picture is now the default scratch cat.

Wanting to take full control of the situation, I clicked “change” on my profile picture, went to my file with the saved singer pictures, and clicked the one I wanted to upload. This is not an original photo–I cropped it to fit the 500x500 sizing.

On the discussion forum dedicated to this very error, my profile picture shows as what I want it to be. But it's showing as the default “new scratcher” cat on my profile and my projects. No one on scratch–at least no one I followed–knows how to fix this.

Because I really want this to get fixed.

Is the problem the fact that I've cropped it? Because I found two images on Google that were the correct sizing. One of them was my first profile picture between 8 months 1 week and 8 months 2 weeks. The other one has laid in my files untouched.

The profile picture you're seeing was edited by me.

I want to get this fixed by tonight. And I know most of you check the forums.

I really don't want to sound mean. But I've had so much troubles with navigation and FAQ's.

When I first joined, I asked around to find a friend who had joined the same day. I didn't figure out how to do it until FIVE MONTHS LATER.

The, I had a lot of trouble with my Web GL. Nothing helped until a really nice scratcher made the suggestion and sent me a few links.

I'm hoping the problem isn't major. This is the third time I've been experiencing troubles.

I'm having a similar problem. I got onto Scratch, posted in a forum, then went to do other stuff.

All of a sudden, my pfp is the default everywhere, and I can't change it back. This literally happened a couple minutes ago…

Yes, there has recently been a global server outage that might've caused this. Please report them here.

It's a bug, and the ST is working to resolve it.

This is a known issue that has been reported here in the Bugs and Glitches Forum. I'm pretty sure that the Scratch Team is aware of the issue and is working to implement a fix. Hopefully that means your profile picture will be back to normal soon!
