mac app store version of scratch offline editor is corrupted

My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.7, Safari 14.1, No Flash version detected
The direct download works though. Here are pictures:

This problem most likely started with versions 3.4, 3.5.1, or 3.6. I would rather press the update button than reinstall the editor every time an update comes out.

This bug has already been acknowledged and the ST is working on a fix

You are running into a known issue with the version of the Mac App Store. It only happens on certain older machines, but if you install Scratch Desktop from the “direct download” link on https://scratch.mit.edu/download it should work just fine. We're working on a fix for the app store.
