Remove studios with follower requirements
Hi, I am @Codingfairy07, and I think studios with follow requirements are unfair. Why? just read the list below:
1: It is a form of discrimination. I mean, why do they have to put limits instead of letting anyone join?
2: I don't enjoy the purpose of these studios. Most of the times, these studios are “Best Scratchers” Studios, and they are being called the “best” because they are really popular.
3: A lot of them only want good coders, but how can they do that IF MOST GOOD CODERS ON SCRATCH ARE UNDERRATED?
I had also came across studios that discriminate based on age and the country you’re in.
So, is their any way we could make some rules for these studios, or take them down?

It's just plain wrong how people get judged on their coding skill based on how many followers they have. There's always stuff that's like “BEST SCRATCHERS” or “THE BEST GAME CREATORS/ANIMATORS” that have high follow requirements.
They're basically excluding people just because they didn't spam tags in their title and advertise.
And to the people that believe this is okay…
Guess what?
YOUR AMOUNT OF FOLLOWERS DOESN'T DEFINE YOUR CODING SKILL, NOR DO FOLLOWERS MATTER NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU PRAISE HAVING THEM!!!!
sorry. im really mad right now at how many people are toxic and wanting fame

EatNYeet, I understand, but a lot of these are famous and skilled, like SharkyShar, griffpatch, Dhilly, ect. The problem is that they are excluding lots of Scratchers who are also really skilled but not famous.

I think these studios should be fine if they don’t come across in a rude way that shows a special club for those elite people, which may upset users. I don’t want this removed overall though - sometimes rules are put in place to match a theme (like a college studio, where only college people can get in) and the forum helpers studio (allowing anyone will defeat the purpose)
I think studios that come off as very mean are reportable

The problem with follower requirement studios that are like “Best __” is the fact that people judge how good you are based on how many followers you have, which is very exclusive to people who actually are good in coding but haven't gotten noticed.

It's basically encouraging trying to find cheap ways to get followers just so you can be let in a studio to identify as a good coder/animator.

If a studio of “most followed people” has follow requirements, of course that's fine, but as I said, studios that essentially say people are good just for having 600+ followers should not be allowed

What do you mean by follow? Do you mean curate? If you mean that, then no, studios like this “Best Scratchers” are a bit mean, but as long as they aren't down right rude, then they're perfectly fine.Everyone seems to be comparing the follow requirement studios to studios that have requirements for an actual reason.
A good example would be The Forum Helpers(I'm a member of), the rules there are in place so that random people who don't even know of the discussion forums(or barely use them) don't join(exceptions are made for people who are just on a new account, as long as their old one met the requirements… but that's besides my point).
Let's take the fact that you have to be 18+ to apply for being on the Scratch Team as an example of joining requirements. Not only for legal reasons, but imagine what it would be like if we had a 6-year-old on the Scratch Team. Chaos. People would be getting banned left and right just for not agreeing with them. Which is why even without the legalities, there would still be an age requirement to apply.
On the other hand, the problems with the “best __” studios that have follower requirements is the fact that they only consider you as good enough to join if you have enough followers as if followers means talent. It's like saying, “Oh, you made a full-on 3D game without any tutorials? Mmm, you only have 50 followers, so you're not as good as we are.”
See the difference?

thats just discrimination against people who don't have many followers. there could be someone out there better than griffpatch, but he wouldn't be invited because he doesn't have 10k follows

I've been on scratch for y e a rs (My oldest account, @warriorcatww being 4 years old).
Let's say this rule gets implemented. Imagine how many great studios get banned because of this.
Also, those studios don't want to become “Spam studios”, ya know, invite all your follower studios and what-not.

Support, because these studios could create a chain. Let's say that there is someone with 200 followers who wants to join a studio where they say “You need 500+ followers”. They get upset, and when they get a lot of followers, they create a studio something like “Best coders EVER” that require 500 followers, because the last one did that, and they think it's the right thing to do that.
I get very furious when seeing one of these studios.

I feel this is already implemented, but support!
They're basically excluding people just because they didn't spam tags in their title and advertise.Spamming tags in the title will do nothing other than making the title look more untidy. If you add #animations to a game, then it is wrong, but spamming #games in a game will do nothing.
