is using the say blocks unproffesional?
I meant these say blocks:
So I've seen lots of animations, and all of them use text to speech or voice acting. No animtion uses the say block. Only I make them, and big scratchers don't use that at all. Small scratchers do tho.
I hope you get my point.

is scratch professional?
in a way, yes. they don't really fit in if you drew something nice and use this, its not going to fit in well.

You mean like what TalksInBlocks does?
It's fully aloud, I actually got an alert for it…
What the heck? Apparently an image hosted on assets isn't a good image URL. Anyway, here's the image of the alert I got.
Here's a quote from Paddle2See on the topic:

Here's a quote from Paddle2See on the topic:
We get a lot of inexperienced computer users on Scratch - which is natural as our site and our computer language is designed specifically to be easy for beginners to use. We also want Scratch to be as friendly and welcoming as possible - and to celebrate the creativity that Scratch enables! So, for these reasons, we decided a while back to not worry so much if Scratchers want to use Scratchblocks to format their text. We see it as similar to BB coding with colors and fonts - or creative use of capitalization.(src)
The important thing is to be friendly and helpful on the forums. We don't need more restrictions that somebody will need to enforce. Thanks for your understanding.

Not always, but they often clash with your project's overall style, which makes the project look less clean. The text boxes don't give you much customizability, and if the rest of your project doesn't work well with them, they'll stand out.
That's also why many people choose custom text engines instead of Scratch's default variable displays. It's a lot harder to mesh an orange box with the rest of a project than a cleaner looking text engine that you can also change much more easily to suit your needs.

Isn't this more of an opinion question?
It's your choice, you don't have to try to look “professional” in scratch - after all, scratch isn't about looking good, it's about Imagining, Programming, and Sharing.

The say blocks aren't bad. Many scratchers don't use it because they feel it lowers the experience of the user running the project.

it's as unprofessional as using sprites from the sprite library or using the normal look for variables

If someone is experienced, then they usually use alternatives like text engines or costumes with text to avoid breaking the theme. Like it wouldn't exactly fit in a game where all of a sudden a Scratch speech bubble would appear when you were previously looking at a pixel art platformer. But sometimes it fits in fine, like if your project doesn't exactly have a theme and you're just using it because it's simple.

Kinda. I would say it's better to have Text-to-Speech. Gives the user a better connection to the overall animation.

While showing just a blank text bubble may look odd, you can make it look more proffesional by coding a text engine right IN the text bubble

What the heck? Apparently an image hosted on assets isn't a good image URL.You have to put “get_image/.%2E/” before the image URL. Apparently Scratch doesn't allow images from assets root.

Well, that depends on your opinion on “proffesional”

Opinion questions don't fit very well in the forums. I personally think it's a bit lazy, but remember, I'm just a guy behind an LCD screen.

Yes. Animation that has a lot of dialogue but requires the viewer to read the majority of time begins to fall apart and isn't as good compared to voice acting or not having any dialogue at all.
