Minji was walking to school it was like any other normal day, couples flirting at the gates before school, kids hanging out in their groups. It was a happy place, for most people. Minji never really liked doing very social things. But she has a big group of friends. She only really cares about Sua. She doesn't know why the others talk to her. It's out of pity, isn't it? Minji saw Sua and went over to her. Sua was really the only one who understood her. Sua and Minji tell each other many secrets. The rest of their group saw them and joined them. Minji knew that the 4 other girls are worried for her.

Minji once has had a crush on Sua but she hid it. After all same-* relationships, we're forbidden. Minji tried to interest herself in men but they are the same. They were all disgusting and liked Minji for her face and body. She knew women would understand her and treat her gently and like her for her, who she is. She always puts away this thought, she wasn't willing to pay a punishment for love. Why did their country hate same-* relationships this much? The other reason is her parents. They are very successful and want Minji to be too. They want Minji to live a happy life with a nice and rich husband. Just the classic bull–it.

Don't get her wrong, she loves her parents with all her heart, it's just that the expectations suffocate her. That is why right now she is an anonymous singer online to make money. Yes, she sings and composes songs on youtube and right now has 500k subs. A lot, but she has been doing this for a year and a half. She lives alone now, but her parents are too busy to care. Minji sighs and thinks about what her crappy future will be like.

“Kim MinJi!” The proffesser said a bit louder.

Minji looked up and said softly, “Yes?”

“I have been telling you to answer this question for 2 minutes now!”

“Sorry,” Minji looks at the board and answers the question quickly, going back to her thoughts. After class Sua met her at the lockers. “Hey, Minji. Is something bothering you?”

“No, im fine”

“Come on Minji, I know more then anyone you are not fine just please tell me.”

“I- I can't” Minji turns away, “You'll leave me.”

“I'll wait then. When you're ready tell me alright?” Sua held Minji's hand, “You know i wouldn't leave you for anything right Minji?”

“yeah..”

“Because im your best friend and that is what people do when they care.” Sua sighed. “Don't you get it?”

Minji looked at her, “What.. Bora?” Minji called Sua by her real name sometimes because Sua said she could.

“Our friend group cares for you, they care alot.”

Minji looked at Sua puzzled.

“You think they dont care about you, you probably think they pity you. But they love you, you are the glue of our group believe me or not.”

“I don't even talk to them much..” Minji mumbles

“They give you space, they want you to know they care and will wait for you to open first.”

“Thanks Sua..”

“No problem Ji”

Minji walked to her apartment, her expression the same all day. She sat on her bed and started to read through her comments. There was one person she always looked forward to, her first fan. She smiled when she saw their comment.

Minji smiled and read through the other comments, Minji didn't care for hate comments but she would be lying if she said she wasn't hurt by some. But whoever “PupYooh” was cheered her up always. She hearted her comment then scrolled through hearting many others' too. She knew people loved to be noticed by someone they like so Minji tried hard to notice as many people as possible. Minji loved singing, but was too scared to show her real face. She fell asleep wondering who “PupYooh” was. Maybe they could be the man she was waiting for. A respectful man to love. But it never crossed her mind that “PupYooh” could be a female.

Minji didn't even tell Sua about her channel. She was planning to, she was also planning to let Sua sing there too if she wanted. Minji was scared, what would Sua think? This whole world she lived in depended on what others thought about her.

1 week,

Minji woke up and quickly got ready for school. She walked out and saw Gahyeon waiting for her. “Hey, Minji!”

Minji wanted to get closer to everyone so she thought it was easier to get close to everyone separately first. Hopefully, that works out well. Gahyeon usually walks to school with Minji in the morning, they talk about stuff, but mostly Gahyeon does. She usually talks about this guy she likes at college. Minji is envious of her, how Gahyeon can talk about a man with such happiness and interest. Minji hopes he will treat Gahyeon well, Gahyeon doesn't deserve to be played with.

“Hey Minji and Gahyeon!” Sua called out.

We went over to her, “Let's go to class”

Minji sat in her seat looking out the window ignoring the rest of the class. She liked the outside world, it was calming and pretty. She wished she was as free as the birds flying outside. But who knows maybe in reality they seem free but are actually trapped, like Minji? Her attention was drawn when she heard someone new introduce themself.

“Hello! My name is Kim Yoohyeon, um I'm 19 Years old, I look forward to being with you guys!” She was so cheerful it kinda ticked Minji off but she looked back at the window until she felt someone's presence next to her. “Hey, you don't mind if I sit here right?”

Minji looked at the new girl and shrugged.

“My name is Kim Yoohyeon, yours?”

“Kim Minji,” Minji grumbled annoyed.

“Ahh i see..” Yoohyeon stayed quiet the rest of class.

The class ended and Yoohyeon left first. Minji sighed slowly picking up her stuff then walked to their group's meeting spot. She saw Yoohyeon and asked, “Why is she here?”

Dami smiled and said, “She was my bestfriend then she left, but she came back!”

Minji nodded slowly then sat down, “What classes do you guys have next?”

Yoohyeon smiled, “I have A music class!”

Minji seemed surprised, “I was planning to go to music too.”

“Minji! You cant keep skipping your business economics class to go to Music! Why didn't you major in music instead?” Sua argued

“I- I dont wanna make my parents angry, trust me I have a balance for both classes, I won't go overboard,” Minji says

“Sua..calm down it's alright” Siyeon whispers softly so Sua can only hear.

Sua calms down automatically, “Anyway I have a date during break so don't expect me there!”

Siyeon widened her eyes then calmed herself. Minji noticed and took note of that.

Break~

“Siyeon!” Minji calls

“Minji?” Siyeon asks

“Yeah, I need to ask you something and I think you'd be the only one who would understand me.”

“Are you attracted to men?”

Siyeon bit her lip, “Of course, who else would i be attracted to? Women?” Siyeon laughed nervously.

“Look I wont tell a single soul, even if I had a knife at my throat” Minji assured her.

Siyeon looked at the floor, “I- I may like women..you promise you wont tell right?” Minji caught the fear in her eyes and sighed.

“Of course..”

“But why did you ask? You said I would understand mo- Oh.” Siyeon paused

“I never felt anything towards men, I liked Sua once but I kept it to myself since…you know how us…yeah, are treated.” Minji said pain in her voice.

“It sounds so bad but sadly its true..” Siyeon looked at Minji, “I'm guessing you read my face when Sua talked about her date right now?”

“Yeah..”

“So, are we better friends now?” Siyeon asks

“I guess.” Minji shrugged.

After all her classes Minji walked home and did the usual, Sang, Edit, Post. But tonight she couldn't sleep. So she decided to write, write a song with her feelings.

Minji read it as she felt a feeling in her chest that made her cry. She wanted someone to hug, She wanted someone to be with her until the end. She blames herself for being like this. She grabbed her guitar and started to play, she played a kind of light metal sound and sang out the lyrics tears running through her face. She practiced it then recorded it as a draft. Tomorrow she'll finish it.

Minji was about to sleep when she decided to check if anyone saw the video she posted about an hour or two ago.

OMG, your voice is always so nice <33 I was feeling kind of down but your voice healed me!

Minji smiled and hugged her phone, she wanted to know who “pupyooh” was fast, but Minji was patient. she can even wait a few more years if she has to.

The next 2 weeks we're routine. Minji's whole life was a routine. She was getting more and more used to her friend group. THe next one she planned to get closer with is Yoohyeon. Which is hard since Minji was always being cold to her.

“Hey, Yoohyeon.” Minji said

“Yeah?”

“Let's walk to class together,” Minji said.

“Oh, okay?” Yoohyeon said and they walked together to class. It might have seen awkward to others but they liked the silence. Minji never liked silence but with Yoohyeon she understood that silence could be the same as a conversation. They walked in the classroom and sat in their seats which they're next to each other in this class.

Minji put in her headphones and looked out the window. She looked at the quiet streets in deep thought while listening to one of her favorite ballad rock songs. Her thoughts blurring her mind. Yoohyeon tapped her shoulder then told her she was crying. Minji quickly wiped her eyes and sighed putting her head on the desk with her arms cushioning it. Yoohyeon wondered what made Minji cry but didn't ask. The class ended and Yoohyeon and Minji split up.

Yoohyeon went over to Dami. “Yubs..do you know why Minji is like that?”

“Like what..?” Dami asks, she never talks much to Minji.

“She rarely smiles, and in class she randomly started crying”

“I don't know..ask her is she wants to talk about it.” Dami suggests.

“Ah, okay” Yoohyeon walks away.

Dami walks to her class.

Minji finished her classes and was heading to a small place to eat. She didn't eat at all that day and most of the day before, so she thought it would be nice to treat herself. She walked in and ordered a simple meal for herself. Then someone from behind her said. “Make that 2 please”

Minji turned around and saw Yoohyeon smiling at her with her cute dimples. Minji walked to a table for two and asked Yoohyeon why she was here.

“Chill, I usually eat here after college. I saw you here and thought to eat with you.”

Minji hummed in response then picked up her phone. Yoohyeon pushed away Minji's phone and set it on the table. “You alright?”

Minji looked at Yoohyeon, “If its about what happened during 1st period then..I'm fine”

“No, you're not.” Yoohyeon sighed. “Come on, you can tell me whats wrong.”

“I cannot.” Minji replies

“Come on, I wont t-” Yoohyeon was cut off by Minji's phone ringing. Minji picked it up and walked away, “Give me a sec.”

“Hello,” Minji said.

“My daughter!” A woman exclaimed.

“Yeah, what is it?”

“What do you mean? It's been so long since you visited!”

“And?”

“You should come visit”

“For what, mom?” Minji bit her lip. “For you to tell me to marry a rich man, and have a company?”

Nothing was heard from the other side.

“Mom. When was the last time you told me you loved me?”

Still nothing.

“Right now I'm independent, I have my own job that I love, and friends that take care of me.”

“Minji…you know I love you. What is your job?”

“That's what you care about? You don't care to ask How I am?”

“Minji! You know I'm bad at this. You know I love you, I just want the best for you”

“I know, and I love you mom. even if I feel like * because of you, I still love you.”

“Sorry Minji…I won't call.”

“No, you can call i- i just had to say something.”

“Ok..bye”

“Bye,”

Minji put her phone down and looked at the ceiling deep in thoughts.

Yoohyeon ran from the wall she was at. She didn't mean to eavesdrop it was just she was, curious. She was wondering if it was her family that made her like that. Yoohyeon puts the thought away when Minji sits down not a bit happier or different.

“So, who was it.”

“My mom.”“ Minji answers

”Oh, ok.“

”I know you have questions just ask them“ Minji says.

”Oh, well..you seem so down all the time so I wondered why you're are like that.“

Minji eyed Yoohyeon then surprisingly answered. ”I am just sick of everything. This place is just built so bad. It's hard being something everyone hates.“

”How do you know they hate it?“ Yoohyeon asks

”Because that is how everyone is raised here, I was born hating it now I hate myself“

”Whatever it may be…i wont hate it. I'm more open then others“ Yoohyeon paused. ”Because i came from America.“

The food came and they ate in silence. Minji looked st Yoohyeon. ”What about you…do you have anything bothering you?“

”Nope, “ Yoohyeon checked her phone then put it back down a little worried but shook it off.

”Is there something on your phone?“ Minij asks

”No, its just dumb“

”Mk, do you have hobbies, Yoohyeon?“

”I like singing..I also like dancing sometimes but I never show anyone..“

Minji smiled, ”I like singing too, I've never told anyone either.“

”Have you showed anyone?“

”Yes? I think“ Minji shrugged.

Yoohyeon nodded. They finished eating and walked out together. ”Thank you Yoohyeon, I needed to talk to someone.“

”It's fine! You can talk to me whenever“

”Thanks" Minji headed back home and posted another cover also apologizing to her viewers for the late upload. Minji set her phone down and started working on the song she had started yesterday and got a good instrumental before checking the comments. Smiling at the one she always looked forward to.

“Let's go to karaoke!” Sua exclaims.

“My ears are already damaged enough” Handong rolls her eyes

“I Dont sing that bad!” Sua pouts

“No, you're just loud.” Handong says.

“Yeah, Dongie is right” Siyeon teases.

“Yah! You too?!?!”

Minji smiled at her friends like this and agreed to the karaoke in the end. It seemed fun and Minji needed something to get her mind off life. She has another crush. And she gets a feeling it won't end soon. “Hey, Minji!” Minji heard the voice of the person she wanted to see the least.

“Yeah, Yoohyeon?”

“Uh,, Sua said she changed the time to 7PM. You alright with that?”

“Yeah, as long as it isn't earlier then 6pm.”

Yooyheon walked next to Minji, “I can't wait to hear you sing!”

“Me too” Minji says sub-consiously.

“It's not much to look forward too…”

“I bet your voice is amazing!” Minji smiles.

Yoohyeon loved seeing Minji smile. It would always make her feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. She was determined to make her smile alot more.

“I'll get going now.” Yoohyeon said and walked into her home. Minji walked herself home and did homework. She posted the video she edited the day before.

She looked at the lyrics she had wrote a few days back then added more.

Minji looked inside and saw Sua and Siyeon singing a love song while staring at each other. Minji looked at them she felt sad, she didn't pity them she was just angry at the world. Sua and Siyeon clearly like each other but Sua is blinded by expectations and rules. Siyeon on the other hand, accepted her feeling for the older.

Sua was a loveable person so it was hard to find any boy who hadn't have had a crush on her. Sua is pretty, funny, nice, and understanding. But Minji always tells her too keep her own feelings in check.

The song ended and Minji walked in. “You guys can become idols at this point!”

Siyeon blushed, “not really..”

SuA grinned, “I was going to try out for this new company!”

“And Idol? Or choreographer?” Minji asked since she knew Sua had majored in dance and already had a job at a small dance studio.

“hmm, My goal is an idol, I can still help with choreos right?” Sua said.

“Well, I guess so..” Minji said

“You'll still be friends with us right, even if you get really famous??” Siyeon asked.

“Of course Wol- Siyeon!” Sua smiled, “Maybe we can all audition!?!!”

Minji shrugged, “Sure, if everyone else agrees.”

“What if we all don't make it?” Siyeon says sadly.

“No more what ifs!” Sua scolded her, “We will okay? Have that mindset”

Then the rest of the girls came in. And we sang in pairs. Gahyeon and Handong, Siyeon and Yoohyeon, Sua and Dami. Minji was going up to sing alone. She preferred it anyway. She looked through the songs and finally picked one.

Minji sang her her heart out with every word.. She kept singing then at the end she made eye contact with Yoohyeon. She finished then walked back to her seat everyone speechless.

“M-minji..how you so good?” Sua asked softly.

“Uh, I don't think..”

Yoohyeon, “Have I..heard you sing before?”

Minji froze, “I don't know…have you?”

“Your voice is very familiar” Yoohyeon paused. “Maybe I'm just overthinking.”

Minji gulped, Did Yoohyeon know about her channel?

“Mmh.”

The rest of the night was fun and normal. Minji was happy she properly be-friended the group. She went home and finished up her song and recorded a full rough draft ready. Tomorrow she would record it, edit and hopefully post it.

1 day later after school.

Yoohyeon decided to drop by Minji's apartment to bring her a gift. She was about to ring the door bell when she heard an electric guitar, and Minji's voice shortly after. Yoohyeon didn't recognize the song at all, she listened closer and felt the feeling behind everyword Minji sang. Minji finished and Yoohyeon stood there for a minute before ringing the doorbell then walking away. Shortly Minji opened the door and saw the box with a tiny note.

A little gift hehe! From-Yoohyeon

Minji grinned and spun a little blushing. “Why is she so cute”, Minji mumbled.

Minji put her hand on her chest, “Okay, calm down.” She took the box and went inside.

Yoohyeon went home and sat down on the couch unconsciously singing the song Minji sang. Yoohyeon searched up some of the lyrics but found nothing. What was Minji singing? Yoohyeon kept humming the instrumental while cleaning for a good hour or two until she got a notification.

It has been a week since Yoohyeon found about Minji and she has to say over the last 2 weeks she developed feeling for Minji. Minji was so cute but serious when she is doing something, Yoohyeon couldn't help but start to like the girl. Minji was walking around the yard and Yoohyeon walked next to her.

“Um, Minji?”

“Yeah?”

“I don't know a tiger? But I really like Rabbits too”

Minji turned to Yoohyeon, stopping. “Why?”

“I..I um heard you the other day..when I sent the box.”

“Ah..do you leave comments often?” Minji asked trying not to sound scared or fazed.

“I am usually the first on! My user is PupYooh” Yoohyeon grinned, “Since people saw I look like a puppy”

Minji's heart beated faster, “uh..” Minji blushed a lot. “Do you..have a favorite song?”

“Uh, not really. But there is a song I am listening to a lot these days.”

“What might that be?”

Another week later.

“I- Really like you, I'm sorry but I just needed to say this because I couldn't hold it in. I know you'll hate me now because I like you and that means that I like w-” Minji started

Yoohyeon cut her off, “I do too.”

Minji stopped staring at Yoohyeon. “Y-you do?”

Yoohyeon nodded.

1 more week.

Here she was, in her girlfriend's/ fav youtuber's room about to do a collab. Minji couldn't believe this either, her girlfriend/ first loyal fan in her room about to sing with her.

After everything was set up they sang, Yoohyeon started clamly, looking Minji in the eyes. But you couldn't tell in the video all you saw were their chins and some of their lips.

“I love you too.” Minji kissed Yoohyeon sweetly, Minji loved Yoohyeon a lot, even if she got punished for it. Its okay with her, as long as Yoohyeon is there. They pulled back and Yoohyeon gently caressed Minji's hair.

“Don't be sorry, I don't care about others. As long as you're mine.” Yoohyeon whispered kissing Minji again.

“Your kisses are so addicting,” Minji said, her voice lower and breathy.

Yoohyeon kissed Minij a bit longer this time. “They're all yours.”

BONUS (1 day before karaoke)

Siyeon pulled Sua outside. “Yes Siyeon?”

“I..i like you”

“No, I like you romantically,” Siyeon says slightly regretting it.

“I know, I'm disgusting. I know you'll probably not want to be my friend anymore but I can't just lie to myself.”

Sua gave up on calling Siyeon's name so she kissed the taller girl. Siyeon kissed back gently, her stomach feeling weird..

Sua blushed, “I- um was just.. hypocritically!”

Siyeon smiled. “You mean Hypothetically?”

Siyeon ran away but Sua caught up with her quickly pinning her to the wall. Siyeon was surprised by the small girl's strength. Sua kissed Siyeon slowly then pulled back. “You didn't even ask to be my girlfriend yet,” Sua said.

“Will you be my girlfriend?” Siyeon asks

“Hmm I don't know”

Siyeon pouts,

“Alright! I say yes.” Sua says, her heart bursting.

Siyeon thought she was dreaming and she certainly didn't want to wake up. Siyeon grinned, “I'm sorry, we'll have to hide our relationship”

“It's fine Wolfie,” Sua smiled,

“As long as you're mine”
