Abandon the function to delete other people's comments on users' own profiles, and Refine "Report" form
Posting spoilers isn't trying to trick the community. I mean, yes, it's annoying when it happens, but I highly doubt that they are tricking anyone.Although this is almost off-track…
I referred the Japanese guidelines, trick is translated into “mischief” there.
How about this:
When sharing projects or posting comments, remember that people of many different ages and backgrounds will see what you’ve shared.

#35:
Let me return to my original concern.
Users who can not understand the usage of the forum and the community tend not to accept advice from others.
Such users delete “disliked” comments easily.
However, I understand there are some situations where users delete comments follow guidelines.
Now, we may need a 3nd option neither “Delete” nor “Report”.
Currently I don't have the best idea yet.
Just for example (this doesn't cover the safety issue):
For deleting comments to clean up the profile,Your counterarguments are reasonable.

When a comment is deleted, a notification is send to the author.
The notification includes the reason and deleted sentences.
If the author have an objection, he/she can use “Contact Us”.
Clarify above routines when a user use this function.

While the "say “ isn't really spam, it is unconstructive because saying just ”support“ or ”no support" alone isn't constructive. Everything else is blockspam.

Of course I know that.
I am talking about only one issue.
Your attention seems to be stereotyped.
Doesn't attention to others become your purpose?

See my #3.You argue for freedom of expression, but people should also have the freedom to delete comments that make them uncomfortable.
Even “Your project is so good!” may be “uncomfortable” for some people.
Should that comment be deleted? How does the person left the comment feel?
How do you think the person who is uncomfortable feels?
Stop repeating the same arguments over and over again even when we have proved them insignificant.

#35:1. If someone doesn't want advice, they don't have to take it! I know it's frustrating, but as I said before, it's not actually your problem. For deleting comments to clean up the profile,Your counterarguments are reasonable.

2. We understand that they delete comments that follow guidelines, but it's their profile, their property, as long as the owner of the profile follows guidelines, their authority shouldn't be taken away..
3. A third option would be hiding/blocking which was removed and rejected because it ignored the problem and didn't solve it.
Please don't use an argument that you've already used before, they have already been combated.

Support. I 100% support it. All the people who say it's the person's profile don't see the other side of the coin: it's also the commenter's comment.
If a comment “”triggers“” you, you can just tell the person.
You might want to erase someone's comment, but that's also erasing what they think.
I never erase comments, even the ones that call me out on stupid things I did, because I try to learn from my mistakes and not delete all proof that they existed.
To help with cleaning profiles and stuff, why not allow people to delete their own comments, and have a button like on twitter that lets you see deleted comments? People still wouldn't be able to say disgusting stuff then delete the comment, and it would make things easier.
Even just with the second thing I said, without the option to delete your own comments, it would encourage posting good comments while avoiding erasing people's opinions.

Yes. It's like that for many people. No support.
Not too long ago someone beat me by commenting before I could close the comments on an alt. How else am I supposed to clean stuff up?
If someone is clearing out comments for offensive reasons, just report them.

Not a good idea. Some people like deleting comments to create threads of different things, for example, rpgs, and a section for contacting them. I might even consider doing this, it’s a really good idea. For those people who want to clean out their comments, reporting is very slow, and the comment doesn’t even get deleted half the time.

-snip-It's not perfect (like you note, not the best idea yet); I don't think the Scratch Team is going to add something that notifies users when their comment is deleted, for reasons similar to why they don't like people saying when they report someone. For example, if User A tells User B, “I'm reporting you!” and a project gets taken down, User B may blame User A “WHY DID YOU REPORT ME!? …”
Now, we may need a 3nd option neither “Delete” nor “Report”.
Currently I don't have the best idea yet.

While comment deletion is unlikely to cause such severe reaction, it could still cause the “drama” that the Scratch Team wants to avoid. For example, User A might say, “Sorry about how I acted the other day, I just want to be friends!,” but when User B deletes the comment, perhaps due to a past history with User A, User A might get upset “Why did you delete my comment! I said sorry!!”
Without a notification, it's likely User A would forget about the comment or chalk it up to a glitch (I've had comments disappear for periods of time before). User A might instead just say, “Hey did you get my comment? I thought I made it but it's gone.” and User B could say “Huh, weird.” and hope User A will go away.

I personally want to have control over what comments stay on my profile because what is said on there reflects on me. I understand your argument for not having the delete option and they are valid points but I would prefer having control over what is said on my profile. I agree with your point on the reporting issue. Please don't take this the wrong way. It's just what I prefer and want.

Support. I 100% support it. All the people who say it's the person's profile don't see the other side of the coin: it's also the commenter's comment.Problems:

Even just with the second thing I said, without the option to delete your own comments, it would encourage posting good comments while avoiding erasing people's opinions.
1. “If a comment ”“triggers”“ you, you can just tell the person.” They won't be obliged to respond or even READ your comment. And, it would still anger you every time you scroll down the comments because neither you nor the person posted it have a “delete privilege”.
2. “don't see the other side of the coin: it's also the commenter's comment.” And? Profiles have a higher priority, in my opinion.
3. “To help with cleaning profiles and stuff, why not allow people to delete their own comments, and have a button like on twitter that lets you see deleted comments? People still wouldn't be able to say disgusting stuff then delete the comment, and it would make things easier.”
The ST can see deleted comments, icydk
4. “I never erase comments, even the ones that call me out on stupid things I did, because I try to learn from my mistakes and not delete all proof that they existed.” Well, great that you learn from your mistakes! BUT, there's no reason to make a huge deal about them, once you've fixed them.
As far as I know, the cons of this suggestion FAR outweigh the pros.
BTW. Can you use delete instead of erase?

No Support. I delete comment to clean up. The Report button means the comment is bad and it isn't. I just want to clean it up

Today I just deleted a bunch of old comments on my profile - not that they were bad, or spammy. I just wanted to have a less cluttered profile.Exactly, for this reason I will put a hard no support.
And, what else should you do if people are insistently asking for feedback, f4f, or anything else you don't want or even spamming or hating? Reporting can be slow sometimes and it's more efficient for profile owners to be able to delete unwanted comments instead of relying on the ST.

#47:

Though I repeated when someone said the same word “Someone's profile is their own space. Sometimes they feel like to deleting the comments”, I'm not repeating the same story.
Look again through this topic.
There are many words like “No support, Someone's profile is …”.
I wonder those who disagree with this suggestion have ever experienced their comment being deleted without the reasons to be convinced?
In the discussion so far, it is clear that there are reasonable cases in each opinion, isn't it?
And this isn't a majority vote.
Stop repeating the same arguments over and over again even when we have proved them insignificant.Who proved it? I don't think so.
