SWC Fanfiction || By Glory (@glorybringer00)
Hey guys!
So, as you may know, I've been working on a SWC Fan-Fic! This is the first chapter, and I hope you like it!
Note: About three quaters of the way through, my selfsona, Glory, changes pronouns from she/her to he/him. This is not a mistake! I am Genderfluid, although I am mostly a girl!
Credit to @22shock for her selfsona Scarlett, to @Bellevue91 for her selfsona Birdi, to @Berricake for her selfsona Alyelle, and to @-NightWrite- for her selfsona Night! Yall are awesome! <3
Everyone's selfsona's will come in time!
Chapter 1
Glory's eyes flickered open.
Sunlight was streaming in through the dark blue-grey curtains, giving the room that she was in small, golden tints, illuminating the dust on the wooden floorboards.
She groaned and turned over, pulling her blanket over her head, making the wooden bunk bed creak.
A tiny flash sparked in her mind, the first flicker of an idea. This happened to her a lot, getting inspiration at unreasonable times, but if she didn't do anything, it would be gone.
She sat up, her long, ragged brown hair was a wild mane, framing her pale skin. She picked up the still-open computer that sat by her feet and put it on her knee, plugging her headphones in.
About 15 minuets later, her idea was down on the screen and saved. Glory shut the computer and climbed down from her bed, smiling at her bunkmate - Scarlett - who was still sleeping, one arm hanging off the bed.
Around the darkened room were a few other bunks; both occupied and not, some desks, computers and piles of paper everywhere. Blunt pencils, pens with no lids and spare quill tips were scattered around, accompanied by random ink blots staining the walls and floor.
As quietly as she could, Glory picked up a pile of blank paper and found a pen that hadn't dried up yet. She opened the small door and slipped into the kitchen.
The Leader of the Dystopian Cabin, Birdi, was making breakfast. Her violet eyes, were bright as she hummed a song under her breath. Long turquoise hair layered with dark lavender flicked about her shoulders. Her skin was light brown skin, and she wore a dark-colored sweater, leggings and rain boots.
“Morning, Birdi, morning Night.” Glory muttered, sliding into a chair and placing her stack of papers in front of her on the table.
Night, Glory's fellow Dystopian Camper, was also in the kitchen. Their caramel hair was down with a braid partially covering part of the right side of their face. Their brown eyes gleamed. They were wearing a light purple tanktop, an indigo skirt that fell to their knees and bare legs beneath that.
“Morning, Glory!” Birdi said in a singsong voice. Whenever there were other Cabins around, especially Mystery, Birdi could get a bit competitive, but whenever she was in her own Cabin, surrounded by fellow Dystopians, she was very relaxed and loyal.
Night handed Glory a large mug of hot water poured over oak leaves. “Here, I made this for you.” They chuckled. “I still don't understand why you like to dink that. It's weird.”
Glory grinned as she sipped it. “Back where I live, my house is this huge barn set in the hills. It's miles away from any kind of civilization, and we have lots of sheep. In the winter there were often food shortages, since neither of my Dads wanted to travel all the way the the nearest town, which was about 8 hours away. Me and my 4 younger siblings couldn't have tea or cocoa to warm us up, so we went outside to harvest oak leaves. We had to boil the water over the stove, though.”
Glory smiles, thinking of her family.
“Didn't either of your Dads have jobs?” Birdi asked.
“Well, yeah. One of my Dads, Camber, is an artist, but he likes to make all of his paints. My other Dad, Diego, is a Fighter Pilot for the Navy, so he gets called out to HQ sometimes, but neither really left us alone for long amounts of time.”
“Hmm. Thats pretty cool.” Night turned back to the pancake they were trying to flip.
“Hey guys, what's up?”
Storm walked in. Her long, grey hair was held back by two clips and her yellow eyes reflected the light.
“Hi Storm.” Night nodded to her.
“Don't forget, Cabin Wars are today! We have to be ready; I think Mystery is planning on warring us to snatch back their lead, but if we're smart, we can win this thing!”
“Alyelle better watch her back. She and her little group of gamblers are going down.” Glory mumbled, rubbing her arm where the Mystery Cabin Leader had given her a bruise last time they had warred.
“I don't know guys. Mystery had both their Cabin and their Casino to shelter in.” Storm fingered the tips of her hair, no doubt thinking about the defenses of Mystery's special Casino where they congregated almost every night.
“We'll see. The Rebellion has more than a few tricks up their sleeves this time!” Birdi and Night shared a high-five.
Glory twitched, feeling a slight shift. He glanced down at his still-empty paper. “Hmm… which Cabin do you think will win this session?”
“It's hard to tell. I would love to say us, but Mystery have a lot of points. That time where we pulled ahead was very brief, and they overtook us again easily.”
'We'll see.' Glory thought, a small smile flitting across his face. ‘We’ll see.'
