today when i logged on to the forums, there were a lot of topics that had new posts (i last used it yesterday and these posts were from today). they were not marked as having unread posts. this wasn't an issue yesterday.

wait–it actually isn't working. this is a glitch. nothing gets marked as having “new posts” - they are all still read even though they have new posts.

It has been totally screwy for me today also.

I can't tell from the Root page if there are any unread message and also, when I click into a section of the forum, I can't tell which messages have been read too.

This just started today. Yesterday everything was fine.

I'm using Chrome on Win7.

Yeah, it's been weird for me as well. I'm looking into it—it seems fine on my test server, though.

EDIT: Actually, it doesn't anymore. Weird.

EDIT2: I think this commit killed it; I reverted it on my test server and new posts work as expected. I'm not sure what it was supposed to fix…

it's still happening. there were new posts on several topics, but only the most recent was marked as having new posts.

We reverted the commit above about an hour ago and deployed - it's possible that some data was lost / not logged properly.

Be sure to clear your cache - and let's hope that as the old potentially bad new post data will wash out.
