MIGHT CONTINUE
A dark figure moved swiftly in the shadowy path, jumping over loose branches and roots. Their cloak whipped around behind them, creating a suspenseful effect for onlookers. Alas, there were none. It was the dead of night, the only sounds caused by the wind or a cricket. The figure paused, suddenly; they turned to look behind them, pricking their ears. Nothing. And they continued, even faster now.
This went on for a while: the figure ran, as silent and foreboding as a shark. Stopping, once in a while, looking about themselves. Suspicious. If you listened hard (not that there was anyone to listen), you could hear the figure muttering to themselves in a language of their own. I’m not sure if this hooded figure was crazy. When I spoke to them, they seemed fine.
I had not seen Alastair Cecil Bentley for many decades, and he was never a correspondent of sorts. Imagine my surprise when I heard a small tapping at my door, and opened it to dear Cecil. He always had hated the name Alastair, and insisted on being called Cecil, although I never really enjoyed the sound of the soft ‘C’.
I had opened the door, and a bold voice declared, “Raedan, I have come to see you.”
I smiled kindly, widening the door and welcoming him in. “My friend, I have not seen you in so long! Where have you been all these years?”
“About and around, same as you,” He replied, dodging the question and wiping his sweaty, wrinkled face with an embroidered handkerchief. “Oh, thank thee,” He smiled a bit nervously as I took his cloak. “Haven’t you a wife? Ye old hermit,” He joked, a bit more comfortable.
“No, no, I’ve always felt courting was not in my style,” I laughed at my old friend fondly. “What brought you here this lovely night?”
“Errands, mostly. I was in town and decided to pay ye a visit.”
“You still work for the king? Long live.”
“Yea, it is a trying job. That old man runnin’ around looking about for the anecdote for his poor son. Why ought it got to be so rare? I often think.”
The crown prince had come down with a rare and fatal disease, the king so worried that he aged twice as fast as he should’ve. Rangers have been getting a good deal out of it, being hired to look for the herbs and medicines for His Majesty’s son with good pay. Cecil was a chief ranger for the king.

This is a plan for a novel(la?) I am planning to write - I already have a VERY basic plot/idea to start from. Fundamentally Char. A’s partner passes away and starts to fall in love with their former nemesis/antagonist, and tries to box up their feelings in their grief. Char. B, after hearing about Char’s loss, tries to be kinder to them (which kind of speeds up Char’s A’s feelings), but has a bit of trouble controlling their temper a few times. This idea is a work in progress, obviously!
Call to adventure - Char A’s partner dies (from a terminal disease? Or car crash?)
Assistance - Char A asks a close friend how to deal with grief, etc, lousy and depressed
Departure - Char A goes back into their daily life for the first time without their partner. Readers meet Char B.
Trials - Char A starts to develop feelings for Char B. Has some more trouble with grief and depression, loses their temper a few times interacting with Char B.
Approach - Char A realizes their feelings for Char B, but tries to push them away since they feel it’s too soon after their partner’s death.
Crisis - Char B develops feelings for Char A, and approaches them. Char A is flustered and is left with a decision to make.
Treasure - Char A decides to let go of their partner’s death and continue on in life. They’re still unsure about their relationship with Char B.
The result - Char A becomes a happier person and begins to enjoy life again. (possibly has some help with doctor/therapist). Decides to progress their relationship with Char B, but wants to take it slowly.
Return - After a few first dates, the couple becomes a bit surer in their relationship, and a few mini-plots are sorted out as well.
New Life - Char A has some worries about their relationship with Char B, but things get worked out and all is well.
Resolution - Char A is more decisive and less nervous overall. Char B is a better person as well, with new skills such as empathy and is kinder.
Status Quo - With a new partner (Char B), Char A’s life is almost identical to their life before their former partner’s death.
Mini-plots - Char B is fired from their job (Char A and B work together) for losing their temper when speaking to their manager. Later in the story, Char A helps Char B finish a few projects for a portfolio to get a new job (and they got hired!)
I hope this sounds like an interesting story to y’all ;0;

The court stood before me, staring down with an icy glare. I fidgeted with my hands behind my back, trying to appear as calm as possible. Living in court brought new challenges every day - betrayals, accusals, and an abundance of trials. It was like trying to survive a reality show, contestants backstabbing and creating allies they don’t plan to keep and being eliminated. But once you started, you could never leave. Unless you were “eliminated” - or in court speak, executed. And I had just been caught trying to sneak fatal poison into the Monarch’s tea.
The Monarch was the court member with the highest status, the most dangerous person in the palace. She was the one who had betrayed the most people, the one with the most deadly allies, the oldest contestant of this reality game of doom. She had survived every challenge, every accusation thrown at her, the most threatening beast.
I am currently on her bad side.
Usually, you don’t want to try many reckless things in court, too many risks to be executed. But I was desperate. I needed the Monarch out of the court.
“Court member Shiva Adonences. Third rank. Crime: treason.” The Monarch’s advisor read with a purpose. The Monarch stood still as stone, cold eyes fixed upon my face with a hard hatred.

word war with Olivia321217 - 7 minutes
Lucien climbed onto the rickety bus; waved hello to the driver and sat down in a torn seat. He gazed out the window, deep in thought. Only when his head hit the window with a painful bump did he realize he had begun to fall asleep, and he pulled out a book to keep himself awake as long as possible. Lucien flipped to a dog-eared page and started to read.
It was a collection of poems. Lucien was an avid reader, and poems were by far his favorite. The atmosphere of every word written made him forget the sickening world around him, if only for a moment. Lucien stared at the page, eyes flicking back and forth, line by line. He stopped for a second and pondered not the book but his state of mind. He was in a sad state, barely holding on to the slick surfaces of reality. He hadn’t been the same since her death, and it was impossible to forget, jumping up at him around corners, hiding in the folds of a rose’s petal. Words were his only escape, but even then he couldn’t avoid his train of thought.
After a bit, the bus drew to a stop and Lucien bookmarked his page, tucking the beloved book into his leather backpack and slinging it over his shoulder. He stepped

Rough
1 - You’ve just been hired for an interesting new job – all you have to do is fall asleep and dream. And you get paid heavily. After your first week, you notice a few odd things about the company… What's wrong with this place?
2 - It’s the 1700s and the economy is booming. Fantastic new technology can be found around every corner – ever since a famous inventor created the first sentient robot only a few years before. But what happens when all the technology stops working? Will this world, created depending on these robots, crumble? (kind of like a futuristic sci-fi story except it’s back in time, so like Shakespearean speech and cool clothes could be present throughout the story)
3 - You’re the youngest of a large family known for the major crimes and mischief they have committed. But when innocent people start to get swept up into a new plan, you decide to turn on your family – and their legacy. You’ve created dangerous enemies – and they won’t hold back.
4 - When your nemesis finds out about your greatest secret, you swear to do whatever they wish in return for their silence. You never expected their first request would be to agree to go on a date.
5 - You’re one of the first cyborgs; part human, part robot. Unfortunately, your inventors have taken away your free will, you’re trapped in your own mind, only able to follow orders. But when something goes wrong, you find yourself able to do whatever you wish again and start to plan an escape.
Complex
1 - “You shouldn’t have gotten involved in this,” You sneer at the opposing figure, even as tears fill your eyes and you turn to hide them. “You can’t always play the hero.”
When your nemesis finds out you’re in a bad situation, they decide to help as they’re the leading hero in your hometown. Feelings start to form, but what will people think if they find out the hero is falling for a villain?
2 - You’re obviously very confused when a wanted criminal appears begging for your help at your doorstep. You refuse to help them, you’ll ruin your reputation if you help them. But when more people travel to your home to ask for help, you start to wonder about yourself… why do people need your help so badly? You decide to find the criminal who came first and find out if they know anything about your family – but you end up getting sucked up into a risky mission.

Word war with spacechiId
Lucien stepped out of the bus and into the chilly autumn air. A breeze blew a few orange and red leaves across the ground – a quiet skittering sound rang in Lucien’s ears. He looked out into the field next to the bus stop. It was dusk, and fireflies glowed in the tall grasses. A couple of small children ran around, cupping the tiny insects in their hands. Lucien smiled slightly, almost nostalgically. He turned around and walked down the pavement, clutching his bag close to his chest. Another breeze blew against his face, and he pulled his jacket up higher in hopes of getting warmer. No use. As soon as Lucien let go of the collar, it dipped back down to his collarbone and he shivered. He looked up at the sky, broken by the branches of a barren tree. Another leaf fell, landing right on his face. Lucien didn’t try to dodge, he let it land then carefully plucked it back up and tossed it back into the air. It dropped to the ground, disappointingly.
